Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Brooks! Brooks and his friend were found by a kind-hearted person and brought to us when no owner could be located. We did our best to find where they belonged, but unfortunately no one ever came forward to claim them.  Brooks is a sweet, friendly boy who loves being close to his people. If you're looking for a lap dog, Brooks is happy to apply for the job. He enjoys attention, affection, and spending time with his family. He gets along with other dogs and is generally friendly with other pets, but can be bossy and try to be intimidating. Brooks can be a little resource protective at times with other dogs, too. Otherwise he does well and currently is rooming with 3 other dogs.  His adoption fee is $400 and includes his neuter, vaccinations, microchip, a negative 4DX test, and he is current on ProHeart 12 and Bravecto. If you'd like to make Brooks part of your family, please apply at www.adoggie4you.org. Brooks is currently in Texas but can be transported to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington, Kentucky, and locations along the East Coast for an additional $250 transport fee. Due to state regulations, we cannot transport to Rhode Island or Massachusetts.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 2, 2026, 5:14 pm

Story
The High Hut trail is considered the highlight of the Mount Tahoma Trail System. Coincidentally, HighHut, the dog, is the highlight of his foster parent’s home. In his foster family's words, HighHut is “a mighty precious and well-rounded little darlin'.” He’s friendly, outgoing, playful, affectionate, and cuddly, wrapped up in a soft, fluffy coat that makes him look like a tiny stuffed animal that somehow came to life. He's been tested by a 10-year-old and a 5-year-old, and passed with flying colors. He rides well in the car, has sat through a bath and nail trim without making it anyone's problem, completely ignores the backyard chickens, and shows zero interest in the neighborhood bunnies and squirrels, which, frankly, shows a level of self-restraint we can all aspire to. HighHut is working on potty training, and his foster just introduced potty bells at the door. He goes reliably once he's outside, so the pieces are all there...he’s just still putting them all together (understandably). He hasn't been formally introduced to other dogs yet, aside from his brother, but given how unproblematic he’s been about literally everything else, we're not too worried about it. Hikers who make it to the real High Hut are rewarded with the kind of views that stop them in their tracks . HighHut the dog offers a similarly breathtaking experience, but you don't have to gain 2,400 feet of elevation to get there. -----

A Quick but Important Note to All Adopters:
Please remember that none of our dogs arrive fully trained. Most come from tough or uncertain beginnings and may have never lived in a home or known basic routines. That means:

✧ They are not potty trained on arrival. Most dogs regress in potty training when moving to a new environment.

✧ They may lack basic manners (like leash walking or appropriate chewing).

✧ They’re learning, growing, and doing their best—but they will need patience, structure, and compassion to succeed.

The majority of these pups have lived in the confinement of a cage or kennel run for most - if not all - of their lives. Because of this, we strongly discourage the use of crates for anything other than vehicle transport. They deserve the chance to decompress and learn what true freedom and comfort feel like.

Our amazing foster homes work hard to start these dogs on the right path, but they are rescues, not finished products. These dogs need time, consistency, and a loving home willing to meet them where they are.

Also, breed designations are our best guesses based on appearance and behavior. We can't guarantee breed, size, adult weight, or coat type.

Story
The name Thunder Creek seems a touch dramatic for a fluffy little sweetheart who’s gentle with chickens, but we love a plot twist. This boy is friendly, sweet-natured, curious, and calm. He's got a soft, fluffy coat, the most expressive flopped ears you've ever seen, and eyebrows that do more communicating than most people manage with words. His foster family has been trying to play it cool about just how great he is, mostly because they'd like to keep him around a little longer. We respect this, but…we’re telling you anyway. Thunder Creek is gentle with kids (a 5-year-old and a 10-year-old can confirm), completely unbothered by cats, small animals, and backyard chickens, and has shown zero interest in the neighborhood bunnies and squirrels. He did great with his bath and nail trim, plays well with other dogs, and is nailing potty training. Sounds too good to be true, we know. However, like the trail itself, both Thunder Creeks are very much incredible, and very much real. -----

Story
Caliper has only been in foster care for a few days, and she's already got her favorite person completely wrapped around her paw. She's sweet, curious, and has a very quiet, gentle manner about her. She's going to follow you from room to room, check in on what you're doing, decide you're pretty great, and just... stay. She's a velcro dog and has absolutely no apologies about it. And why should she? Caliper has also, for the record, not had a single indoor accident. Not one. She goes outside in her designated spot every time! She just needs her person standing nearby while she does it, which, when you think about it, is a completely reasonable request, and we respect it. She's still building confidence around loud noises and new situations, and slow introductions to other dogs will set her up for success, but the progress she's already made in just a few days is remarkable. She tolerates baths, ear cleaning, and paw handling like a champ. Caliper would thrive with a patient, loving family who's happy to be her safe place as she continues to come out of her shell. She's not the loudest dog in the room, but she is the one you can't stop thinking about after you've met her! -----
