Aberdeen Scottish Terrier Rescue is a registered 501(c)3 Web Site: www.aberdeenstr.com ***MUST SUBMIT APPLICATION before we will respond to email or phone inquiries. Thank You for your cooperation*** Please read listings fully to the end before applying for one of our beloved rescues. WE ARE NOT A SHELTER; WE ARE AN ALL-VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS. Please do not contact us to look at a dog. We will contact you once we have reviewed your completed application if we think your home might be a good fit. A reference check, phone interview, and home visit will be completed before meeting an adoptable dog. We work quickly. Please do not submit an application until you are ready to bring a new furry family member home. Expect your references to be contacted shortly after submitting your application. We adopt out to homes in WA state, but require that you are present for the meet and greet in Newcastle, WA. Our adoption fee is non-negotiable. The adoption fee is due on the day of adoption in the form of a check, Zelle, or cash. We no longer accept PayPal because of the percentage they take & their fees but if the potential adopter wants to pay the fees we will accept PayPal. The call was put out for the need from several commercial breeders who needed some of their dogs gone, at a cost of course in the middle of the midwest. Of course they always want money for some of the dogs & of course once we know about them we are not leaving them & do what we have to do to help them. With beautiful Nebula she was used over & over again as a breeding machine & spent her life in a cage. These innocent souls lives were instantly changing in that moment & only for the better. She was one of the very lucky ones. On this day we rescued a total of 17 lives of mums, dads & puppies including Nebula. Now the real healing, love & devotion could begin & show Nebula how she is supposed to be loved & adored in a loving forever home just as they are in their foster home. Nebula & her friends were bought back to the WA state where she is now so happy to be here & can’t wait to find her new loving devoted forever home. This girl is a very special girl. We noticed instantly she is the guardian angel of the group. She watches to make sure nothing is happening to her friends, the other mums. It’s as if they are her babies. She has one of the nicest & sweetest personalities we have seen. She lets us pick her up & she is so sweet & innocent & such a lovely little lady & wants you to love her & be affectionate with her. She is so easy go with the flow type of personality. She absolutely adores her 2 friends she came with, another bichon & a Maltese. Everything is all so new to her & she is learning how she should have always been cherished. We also tested her in a daycare environment & she has done well in that environment. The reality is, the rescue is her real first experience at being in a home, with a tv, bedding she can snuggle up in, a roof over her head that’s not outside. The fact too that no one can ever be cruel to her ever again. She was shaved down to the skin & we see the breeders do this when they are so very matted so it’s only beginning to grown back in. She adores comfy beds & big comfy blankets because again the reality is, this is something she did not ever get to experience ever until she was rescued. She currently sleeps with her friends who we rescued together. She loves everyone & is so very sweet. She is good with being bathed & groomed & tolerates the hairdryer. Believe it or not she just lets you do anything to her. She would still need to be taught to walk on a harness & leash. Since we have had her she has been taught to walk on a slip lead. Nebula rides in the car well & considering the only times we know of was when she went to be sold & when we got her & going home & to & from the vets with us. But she does absolutely amazing in the car. We are looking for a crate free home for this little lady only. Nebula as you can imagine spent her life in a caged environment. We are also looking for a forever home for Nebula where someone is home during the day or she can go with his people wherever possibly he can go with them. When they find someone who treats them as they should be treated & loves them they get so attached to them. Nebula is looking for a forever home who will cherish her & love her as she should be loved & be patient with her & never give up on her. Nebula has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes in the rescue & she is currently with her friends she came with. She will be found snuggled up with them. She absolutely must go to a forever home with a dog or dog’s present in the home for her to thrive in. Please do not apply saying your neighbors have a dog or family members or you will take him to places where there are other dogs. That will not work, another dog or dogs is mandatory along with a fully fenced backyard if you have a freestanding home. Nebula is roughly 9.4 lbs & he is roughly 6 years old & ‭a bichon‬. What she is mixed with we are not sure. Female, she is spayed by laser by our wonderful vets, she is microchipped, up to date on her shots, including DHPP, bordatella, leptospirosis & rabies. She had a dental scale & polish & dental x-rays & had 1 tooth removed. She had 1 minor molar removed. We have spent far more on Nebula with getting her from a commercial breeder & cleaning up what he did to her. Bringing her to WA with her travel costs, her transportation to WA. All of her medical care in WA & Omaha etc & bringing her to WA then her adoption fee comes close to covering. Nebula has not been around cats since being in the rescue, but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together & we have had her around small children & she adores them but we do do not recommend small children nor cats though & it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children & cats. We were not there when Nebula was conceived so we do not know who her parents were & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think her breed is. As with all of our rescues & Nebula’s friends & siblings she will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Nebula potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond. We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying. Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Nebula & going through our process and have read her listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on. Or you waste this rescues time, will remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a virtual home visit via WebEx or Zoom due to covid & followed by a meet & greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Nebula who understands her needs & that meet all the requirements for the special sweet little Nebula. Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives & please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately. Nebula has an adoption fee of $1250 & is ready for her truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what she has been through.

Story
✅️Currently located in South Korea✅️ Meet QQ❤️ QQ was rescued from an illegal breeding facility in South Korea, where she lived in a cramped cage with accumulated waste and fur beneath, making standing painful and emitting strong ammonia fumes. She is now adapting to everyday life and is expected to become healthier and happier soon! * Interaction with People: Loves people a lot but initially fears strangers, especially men. Takes time to warm up, but once getting comfortable, she follows around, wags her tail, and likes to be by your side. She gives lots of kisses as a way of saying I love you! * Interaction with Dogs: Shows little interest in other dogs and enjoys spending time alone. Feels uncomfortable with overly aggressive doggy friends! Tends to display her emotion by look to familiar dogs. * Interaction with Cats: Is indifferent to cats and passes by them without much interest. * Separation Anxiety: Has Minimal separation anxiety. Scratches the door when the dog he lives with goes out, but she sleeps and does well alone when the family is out. * Potty Training: Prefers to use indoor potty and is proficient with using pads. Occasionally confuses blankets with her potty spot but is getting training. Does well with outdoor potty during walks. * Hygiene: Cooperates well during baths. Nail trimming can be frightening and cause some fuss, but she stays calm. Is also good with brushing and drying. Feels uncomfortable with scissors on her face. * Walking: Enjoys slow walks, but tends to pull the leash in the direction she wants to go. * Car Sickness: Travels well in the car without any signs of motion sickness. * Is very gentle with no biting, even when touched or petted by strangers. * May bark softly when guests come into the house. * Is afraid of sudden sounds or movements and isn't used to being picked up or put on your lap. * Has allergies and is on an allergy diet. ** Health Status ** - Scaling done, two teeth extracted - Due to periodontitis, her gums have receded, causing instability in her teeth. This prevents her from eating hard food, and she needs to be fed with soft kibble and snacks. - Has an eye injury but no vision impairment. 💙 Foster's Instagram: @co7mo3

Story
Violet is full of personality, energy, and—let’s be honest—a little bit of mischief! She’s incredibly smart and knows exactly what she’s doing when she tests the limits (which she does often). Her independent streak means she won’t sit still in your lap for long, but she loves playing, exploring, and making sure she’s always the center of attention. She’s got a bark that can make the walls shake, so apartment life may not be the best fit for her. Potty training is coming along, but she still needs consistency to master it. She’s great with toys (maybe a little too great, as she’s already destroyed a few!) and thrives with an owner who appreciates a feisty, clever pup who keeps them on their toes. If you’re looking for an energetic, spunky pup who will always keep life interesting, Violet is your girl! ----- Thank you for your interest in adopting a dog from Little Dog Rescue. Our dogs come from a variety of sources and backgrounds. They are all in need of adopters that have patience, an understanding of where these dogs have come from, and that there will be an adjustment time when they transition into their forever home. This can include learning basic commands, walking on leash and potty training. Some dogs will pick up on your routine and expectations faster than others. Potty accidents will happen. We find that positive reinforcement, consistency, and routine from the adopter achieves the best results. We are a small, all volunteers team and give 100% of our efforts towards doing right by these pups. We are often juggling many responsibilities at the same time and do our very best to process inquiries and applications in a timely manner. We do prioritize inquiries that have a submitted application on file through the Little Dog Rescue website. We do our best to accurately assign breed designations, however we are unable to guarantee 100% accuracy. Sometimes we only have the dogs appearance to go on. Our adoption fees are thoughtfully considered. The adoption fee is not a purchase price for the dog. It is a fee that is designed to support the overall work of our rescue. Highly desirable dogs and puppies are intentionally listed with a higher adoption fee. This is done to help offset the enormous medical expenses we incur when taking in older pups and special needs medical dogs whose adoption fees do not come close to covering their expenses. In addition, the vast majority of our dogs are brought in from out of state and incur transport fees along with their medical and acquisition costs. We ask that you take all of these things into consideration, and we look forward to finding a great match for your family.

Story
Ramona is an independent little pup who marches to the beat of her own drum! While other dogs may be vying for attention, she’s content doing her own thing—whether that’s exploring, playing with toys, or simply relaxing nearby. She isn’t overly needy for affection, but she also doesn’t mind the occasional cuddle. Unlike some puppies, Ramona isn’t much of a barker or whiner, making her a relatively easygoing companion. She’s learning basic commands like "No," "Stop it," and "Leave it," though potty training is still a work in progress. She’s got a playful, adventurous spirit and would thrive in a home that allows her to explore and engage at her own pace. If you’re looking for an independent but lovable pup who won’t demand constant attention, Ramona might be your perfect match! ----- Thank you for your interest in adopting a dog from Little Dog Rescue. Story
Beatrice is the sweetest, most affectionate pup of the bunch! She’s a true people pup who wants to be close to you at all times—whether that’s curling up on your lap, resting on your shoulder, or jumping into your arms before you even sit down. She’s small and dainty, but don’t let that fool you—she can keep up in playtime and hold her own when things get rowdy! She’s also likely to struggle with separation anxiety, so she’d do best in a home where someone is around often or where she has another furry companion to keep her company. She’s still working on potty training (as all puppies are!), but she’s eager to please and already knows basic commands. If you want a pup who will love you unconditionally, Beatrice is ready to shower her forever family with affection! ----- Thank you for your interest in adopting a dog from Little Dog Rescue. Story
Meet Ribsy, the smartest boy around! This sweet and affectionate pup is eager to please and has been an absolute joy in his foster home. At such a young age, he’s already learned sit, paw, jump, and lay down, and he’s well on his way to being fully potty trained—with only a couple of accidents so far! Ribsy is a loyal companion who loves to follow his people wherever they go. Whether it’s taking out the trash or just moving around the house, he’s happiest when he’s by your side. He’s teething right now, so he may occasionally nibble on furniture, but he’s easily redirected with appropriate chew toys. While he’s an expressive pup and will let you know if he’s feeling left out, he settles quickly and isn’t excessively loud. He’s working on crate training and does well with chews to keep him entertained. At night, he sleeps soundly and recently made it through the whole night in his foster’s bedroom! Ribsy is as sweet as they come, and he’s looking for a family who will continue to guide him as he grows. Story
Meet Ozzie (formerly Bear)! A charming 2-year-old neutered male Bichon Frise with a soft, fluffy white coat. Weighing 4.8kg, this little guy is as sweet as he is adorable. He's currently in Orillia, ON. Little Ozzie is so friendly with all people, not at all shy or hesitant with kids or strangers. He eagerly gives greetings and kisses to everyone. He’d love to be with children and other dogs his age and size who have lots of energy to play and be social. He can be nervous with bigger dogs. He’d love to be with one or two very social dogs in the home so that his wonderful social skills are rewarded. He has an adorable little snore and he’s the cuddliest boy to nap with. If you brush him, he’ll fall asleep on you (unless he's frisky). He's hilarious when he gets zoomies. Still working on housetraining, he does well going outside with routine potty breaks, and uses pads inside. Ozzie does not like to be crated, but he likes sleeping in his travel bag on the bed beside his person. This is his safe space. He will eventually sleep on the family bed or in his own bed on the floor as long as he’s not roaming the house at night as he will get into things, he’s just like a brand new puppy. For now, he enjoys his bedtime routine with the closeness of his humans and the comfort of his soft-shell carrier (it’s small and doesn’t make any clanging noises like a metal crate, which startles him); this routine keeps him feeling safe. He is a curious fellow and likes to explore his environment. He also enjoys being carried around in a fancy shoulder bag if you're shopping at pet store or going for a car ride, and yes, he’s wonderful in the car; he usually just sleeps. Ozzie is getting used to being enclosed in a large playpen, and has come a long way with spending moments on his own. This helps him with self-amusement and self-soothing, but he’s not ready to be left alone yet. Someone who works from home would be ideal, or retired couple who’d enjoy spoiling him with all the attention he could handle. Still adapting to the leash, and is good with the harness, but needs some practice/training to be less reactive to the collar and leash. Experience with rescue dogs should be considered. He’s very smart and willing to learn, but he requires much time and patience with training and adjusting to people leaving the room/home. He’s very food motivated so that can help with training, as long as he doesn’t get over-fed. He does very well with verbal praise as well. He’s a fun little guy who loves to play ball, explore the backyard, do puzzle games, fetch sticks, and he’s good with cats! He’s also a bit of an acrobat. Teach him to jump through hoops and you’ll have your own little circus dog! He’s great in the bath and he is fine being brushed or groomed at home. He's a very gentle, loving boy, and he doesn’t mind being dressed up or wearing winter jackets and sweaters. Rescued from a breeding facility in Geoje, Ozzie is ready for a loving home where he can continue to grow and experience all the joys of being a cherished companion! The very gentle Santa once had a home in Korea but his owner was in the final stages of their life with cancer & decided to just leave Santa abandoned in the home by himself with no one at all. Thankfully the Korean rescue rescued our adorable Santa & placed him in a loving foster home in Korea. No one was still coming to give this boy a loving forever home. Unfortunately he still could not find a home in Korea & we were asked could we help this beautiful boy & it was our pleasure to. Santa was rescued by the amazing Korean rescue & just as always we are beyond grateful to the Korean rescue & we are so extremely grateful for what they do day in & day out for these babies & there is also such a great financial responsibility when rescuing these babies so we cannot begin to thank them enough. Santa was bought back to the USA where he is now a US citizen & is so happy to be here & can’t wait to find his new loving devoted forever home. This soft gentle soul has been abandoned & left for dead but you would not know it with his wonderful & oh so forgiving personality. Santa has a lovely personality, he is warm, friendly & affectionate & enjoys a good outing. Did we mention you can pick this beautiful boy up & he will let you carry him? He loves to receive love & hugs & kisses. He also enjoys a windy day with the wind in his face. When Santa arrived to us he had waft appeared to be an old black scar on his right left leg from a previous injury but we will never know what happened to him there. He is doing well walking on his harness & leash & loved going on walks in Korea & does well here on his outings. He did end up having a foster home in Korea who worked with him & helped him flourish. We do know he adores dogs, he loves them & he absolutely needs another dog or dogs in the home for her to play with, this is mandatory. We currently have Santa with other dogs. Did we mention this boy loves a good outfit, well yes he does. In Korea in his foster home he always had an outfit on. He also is good with both male & females. Having toys & a warm bed is all new to Santa until he went into his foster home in Korea & he loves toys, especially the squeaky toys so get the toy box ready for this sweet boy. Santa’s new forever home must have a fully fenced backyard. Santa is good with being bathed & is even good when being dried with a hairdryer. Santa rides beautifully in the car & loves a good journey, so great in the car. We are looking for a crate free home for this little lady only. Santa does not like crates & who could blame him after being abandoned the way he was in Korea. We are also looking for a forever home for Santa where someone is home during the day or he can go with his people wherever possibly he can go with them. Santa is looking for a forever home who will cherish him & love him as he should be loved & be patient with him. Santa has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes & he is currently with other dogs & does well. Santa needs to go to a forever home with another dog or dogs in the home, he really enjoys the company of other dogs & we currently have him with other dogs. This is mandatory along with a fully fenced secure backyard. Santa is roughly 9.2 lbs & has put on weight with us. When we got him, he was a little skinny. He is 6 years old & perhaps a maltese mix, what he is mixed with we are not sure, male, he is neutered had a dental/scale & polish, he had an incisor removed, he was treated for an ear infection on the outside of his ears & different parts of his body with otomax. He is microchipped, had a skin scrapping done & it was negative for anything. His left front leg has a dark pigmented spot on his leg that was from an old wound in Korea that they do not not know what happened with his previous owner. He is up to date on her shots, including DHLPP, Bordatella, CIV, rabies, treated with credelio & dewormed. We have spent far more on Santa with bringing him to the US with hid travel costs, his medical, his dental, boarding fees etc & bringing him to WA than his adoption fee covers. Santa has not been around cats since being in the rescue, but in Korea he was in a foster home with cats & could care less. But it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together & we have not had him around small children so we do not recommend small children nor cats & it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children & cats. We were not there when Santa was conceived so we do not know who his parents were & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think his breed is. A reference check, phone interview, and home visit will be completed before meeting an adoptable dog. We work quickly. Please do not submit an application until you are ready to bring a new furry family member home. Expect your references to be contacted shortly after submitting your application. We adopt out to homes around WA state & Oregon but require that you are present for the meet and greet in Newcastle, WA. Our adoption fee is non-negotiable. The adoption fee is due on the day of adoption in the form of a check, Zelle, PayPal, if using PayPal the potential adopter will have to pay the fees & charges with PayPal. This boy is a special boy, he is so loving & devoted to you. Soul destroying to think of what he has been through & yet he still loves human beings even after everything they have done to him. We cannot even begin to imagine what Miles witnessed & heard when he was at the slaughterhouse, how Miles ended up in a slaughterhouse for human consumption & yes you did read that correctly, we will never know? What we do know is, he was pulled out of there by our outstanding Chinese rescuer just in time. It’s absolutely soul destroying to think about the horrific situation he ended up in. Working with one of our truly devoted, dedicated & absolutely outstanding Chinese rescuers she rescued Miles & many others for us. Without this beloved rescuer going in & getting Miles out, his fate was a torturous death. She transferred Miles to her own rescue & covid had hit & the waiting began. Along with Miles & many other sweet souls she got well & they waited to come to the US. This became a very extremely expensive situation with covid. We were finally able to bring everyone back through cargo which is an astronomical expense per dog, but we believe every sweet soul such as Miles & his & friends deserves to be loved & cherished & given the chance to have a wonderful life. Now Miles is looking for a special family to cherish him & be patient with him & remember what this beautiful soul has been through & a family that meets all his needs. Miles was rescued by our truly amazing Chinese rescue friends & just as always we are beyond grateful to the Chinese rescue who we are so extremely thankful for what they do day in & day out for these babies, we cannot thank them enough. Miles was bought back to the USA where he is now a US citizen & is so happy to be here & can’t wait to find his new loving devoted forever home. Talk about melt your heart & love you to pieces, that’s Miles his foster family said. He is the sweetest boy who looks at you with such gratitude & just wants to be your everything. Wherever you are, he wants to be. His foster family said he will want to sleep in bed with you & will snuggle up with the other dogs too. He does eat clean in his foster home, meaning, grains, fruits, vegetables, proteins & supplements. He is also great about wearing outfits & being amenable to all situations. He adores being hugged & held because the reality is we are the first real people in his life to show him such true love & affection. He also is very loyal. Miles has been taught to walk on a harness & leash since being in the rescue & in his foster home & considering we believe we are the first people to teach him how to go on walks, he is a wonderful walker. Miles is a rescue & will need patience, time & understanding. Miles adores being pampered & doesn’t want you to stop when brushing his, cleaning his eyes, grooming he, he loves it all. He does well with his baths & is so good with the hairdryer. He also does extremely well being touched in general & adores receiving love. Having toys & a warm bed is all new to Miles & we have been excited to change his world with the introduction of toys & lots of love & affection & a loving environment. He likes laying on you when he is with you or on comfy blankets. Miles has learnt to ride in the car & does well in the car & enjoys a good car ride. He is such an amazing, loving little lad. He just sits back & enjoys the journey. With Miles we are only looking for a crate free home for this lovely little lad only. We are also looking for a forever home for Miles where someone is home during the day or he can go with his people wherever possibly he can go with them. Miles is looking for a forever home who will cherish him & love him as he should be loved & be very patient with him & understanding. Miles has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes & he is currently with other dogs & enjoys their company but could go to a forever home as the only dog. A fully fenced backyard is mandatory for Miles new forever home. Meaning he can live in a condo or apartment. Miles is now roughly 9 lbs & is 9 years old & a shi tzu & what he is mixed with we are not sure? He is neutered & male. He had a dental/scale & polish along with dental x-rays. He 2 teeth removed, 1 molar & 1 premolar. He has a grade 4 out of 6 heart murmur. He was treated for dermatitis with antibiotics. He had a neurological event & was walking into walls, lost weight & his fur & the vet suggested he be pts. But we would not do that & he made a full recovery. Miles has cataracts & some days they are there & some days not. He is microchipped, up to date on his shots including DHLPP, Bordatella, rabies & dewormed. We have spent far more on Miles with bringing him to the US with his travel airfare costs, without anything else then on top of that paying for his medical care & boarding fees, including a dental/scale & polish, shots, microchip etc, than his adoption fee comes close to covering. Miles has not been around cats since being in the rescue but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals. We have have not had Miles with small children so we do not recommend children, but it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children & animals. We were not there when Miles was conceived so we do not know who his parents were & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think his breed is. As with all of our rescues & Miles friends he will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Miles potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond. We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying. Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Miles & going through our process and have read his listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on & remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a virtual home visit using Webex due to covid & followed by a meet and greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Miles who understands his needs & that meet all the requirements for this lovely sweet boy. Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives & please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately. Miles has an adoption fee of $795 & is ready for his truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what he has been through.
