The name Thunder Creek seems a touch dramatic for a fluffy little sweetheart who’s gentle with chickens, but we love a plot twist. This boy is friendly, sweet-natured, curious, and calm. He's got a soft, fluffy coat, the most expressive flopped ears you've ever seen, and eyebrows that do more communicating than most people manage with words. His foster family has been trying to play it cool about just how great he is, mostly because they'd like to keep him around a little longer. We respect this, but…we’re telling you anyway. Thunder Creek is gentle with kids (a 5-year-old and a 10-year-old can confirm), completely unbothered by cats, small animals, and backyard chickens, and has shown zero interest in the neighborhood bunnies and squirrels. He did great with his bath and nail trim, plays well with other dogs, and is nailing potty training. Sounds too good to be true, we know. However, like the trail itself, both Thunder Creeks are very much incredible, and very much real. -----  A Quick but Important Note to All Adopters: Please remember that none of our dogs arrive fully trained. Most come from tough or uncertain beginnings and may have never lived in a home or known basic routines. That means:  ✧ They are not potty trained on arrival. Most dogs regress in potty training when moving to a new environment.  ✧ They may lack basic manners (like leash walking or appropriate chewing).  ✧ They’re learning, growing, and doing their best—but they will need patience, structure, and compassion to succeed.  The majority of these pups have lived in the confinement of a cage or kennel run for most - if not all - of their lives. Because of this, we strongly discourage the use of crates for anything other than vehicle transport. They deserve the chance to decompress and learn what true freedom and comfort feel like.  Our amazing foster homes work hard to start these dogs on the right path, but they are rescues, not finished products. These dogs need time, consistency, and a loving home willing to meet them where they are.  Also, breed designations are our best guesses based on appearance and behavior. Deepu's life goals are simple: wrestle with his brother, run around in the grass, get belly rubs, chew on a good bone, and do it all again tomorrow. He's playful, cuddly, and great with other dogs. He loves car rides, does well with kids and small animals, and is still working on potty training with outside trips during the day and pee pads overnight. He's enthusiastic and affectionate without being overwhelming about it, and his foster says he's a fun, happy little dog to have around. Whoever gets Deepu is getting a full-time sunshine machine. If Devi could have a smile permanently on her face, she would. Her tail is basically never not wagging. She hasn't met a person or a dog she didn't like. She's playful, sweet, and checks in for a hug and snuggle after every play session before settling in for a nap next to her people. She sleeps from 10 to 5 without a sound, is making good progress on potty training, and brings what her foster describes as “endless laughter and light.” One small note: she would very much like to eat rocks and poop, so keeping an eye on her outside is recommended. Caliper has only been in foster care for a few days, and she's already got her favorite person completely wrapped around her paw. She's sweet, curious, and has a very quiet, gentle manner about her. She's going to follow you from room to room, check in on what you're doing, decide you're pretty great, and just... stay. She's a velcro dog and has absolutely no apologies about it. And why should she? Caliper has also, for the record, not had a single indoor accident. Not one. She goes outside in her designated spot every time! She just needs her person standing nearby while she does it, which, when you think about it, is a completely reasonable request, and we respect it. She's still building confidence around loud noises and new situations, and slow introductions to other dogs will set her up for success, but the progress she's already made in just a few days is remarkable. She tolerates baths, ear cleaning, and paw handling like a champ. Caliper would thrive with a patient, loving family who's happy to be her safe place as she continues to come out of her shell. She was found abandoned on the streets alongside her sister in heartbreaking condition. Severely neglected, Quinn was covered in painful mats, suffering from extensive hair loss caused by poor nutrition and flea infestation, and struggling with serious eye issues that had gone untreated for far too long. Since coming into rescue, Quinn has received extensive veterinary care and has been under the supervision of a local veterinary ophthalmology specialist. After numerous tests, treatments, and medications, we now know that Quinn has severe chronic dry eye, a condition common in her breed. Unfortunately, this has resulted in significant scarring of both corneas. The good news is that Quinn's right eye is responding well to treatment, and with lifelong medical management, her vision can likely be preserved. Her left eye has faced additional challenges, including a corneal ulcer and infection, but after completing her course of antibiotics and ongoing care, she has shown remarkable improvement. Despite everything she has endured, Quinn remains one of the sweetest dogs you could ever hope to meet. She is calm, gentle, affectionate, and happiest when curled up in your lap. Quinn is not a barker, gets along wonderfully with other dogs, and has an easygoing, laid-back personality that makes her a joy to have around. Lady Di is just her undercover alias. Around here she’s known as Cookie ( or Cooks, if you’re one of her friends ….which happens to be everyone:). This 11 month old 10 lb shih tzu is serving up serious cookies and cream perfection with her adorable and less sheddy black and white coat. She’s as sweet as can be and everyone loves her….just like a cookie. Kids? Loves them. Dogs? Loves alll her foster friends and there are six plus a cat and two kittens. Now…for the headline you’ve all been waiting for….. * COOKIE IS POTTY TRAINED! Not mostly, not working on it…actually potty trained…like she goes to the front door or back and scratches on it to go out. Hallelujah! I been fostering a loooooong time and this is gift I tell you. Cookie isn’t your typical wild child pup. She’s very calm unless she see’s a cat or squirrel. With the squirrels …her intentions are questionable... so no squirrel friends!! She loves a nice short walk outside ,but will also cuddle up on the couch. She is crate trained, but would rather sleep in your bed and has earned the right with those excellent potty skills….
