Story
I've been sponsored by the Petfinder Kia Grant to help reduce adoption fees. Thanks to the wonderful Petfinder Foundation my adoption fee is only $25.00! Hi, I'm Precious! I am a 7 month old Black Mouth Cur mix. I came to the shelter with my 7 other siblings! I'm still a puppy, full of energy and love. I love to play, and I'm always up for a good game. I'm sweet and cuddly, too. I love to curl up in a warm lap and give lots of puppy kisses. I'm a quick learner, too. I'm potty trained as long as I am kept on a good scheuldue. I am also crate trained, so I won't make a mess in your house. I promise to be a good girl and make you proud. I'm just looking for a family to love me as much as I'll love them. Adopting me means gaining a loyal friend who will bring joy, laughter, and love into your life. So, what do you say? Will you be my forever family? If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to request an appointment to meet me. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. No need to call to find out about me, you can ask questions on the application or email questions to info@polkcountyhumanesociety.org. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and Minneapolis, MN areas twice a month. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual and we will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veteinarian ($35). Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! ##1946543##

I've been sponsored by the Petfinder Kia Grant to help reduce adoption fees. Thanks to the wonderful Petfinder Foundation my adoption fee is only $25.00! Hey there, I'm Roxi! My journey to the shelter? Well, it all started with my siblings and I, the Paw Patrol Pups, playing a game of hide and seek. I'm smart and brave, so naturally, I found the best hiding spot. Turns out, it was a delivery truck. Before I knew it, I was on a surprise adventure across town! Don't worry, a friendly human found me and brought me here. Now, I spend my days being sweet, playful, and a little goofy. I've got energy to spare and I'm curious about everything. I'm just looking for a forever friend who can match my zest for life. Adopt me, and let's start our adventure together! Story
Hello, my name is Tux. I was dumped and my foster mom found me. I get along with other dogs. Been to boarding and didn't have any complaints. I'm skittish of cats. Still trying to figure them out. I tried to befriend one and coward when it hissed at me. I'm about 1 year old. I'm trying to figure out you humans too. Skittish @ first but I'm sweet once I gets to know ya.  Love hugs and kisses. I pull on leash but that can be corrected. Love to go for rides. Just don't leave the window all the way down or I'll try to jump out. My foster mom uses a doggie seatbelt on me. If you're interested, make sure you can commit to me 110%!  You move, I move with you! I have some anxiety issues. Anxious about being left alone again .... want a home base w/lots of love that I can share w/you. I have a tendency of trying to dig. I am an EXPERT climber. Your yard MUST be dog proof! I need basic command training. My foster mom is trying to teach me some. My foster grandma says I have the spirit of a horse. That I love to be free and wild. Love nature ... gives me peace.... love to take you for a walk and show you my world... come walk w/me. I'm young and curious...yet love to sit next to you too. Help me w/my next journey . I can love you unconditionally. Plus...I'm handsome .Someone active would be ideal for me! ##2050899##

Story
Frosty was named after her frosty face. Found struggling to survive on the bad side of San Antonio Texas. She made an attempt to get help from all surrounding homes near the street she slept and not one person gave her a chance. That was until one of our Texas fosters came across her. She was so hungry she had to be given a slow feeder for the first week of decompression. She is a very old soul extremely loving. She's an older girl in her golden years she not the type to take long extended walks but she will keep you company while you watch a movie. Frosty also enjoys the company of other submissive dogs but would also benefit from being the only pup in your life. Frosty is comfortable with children as well.  ##2006340##

Story
At 10 years young, Kaleesi couldn’t be sweeter or kinder to those she LOVES! The friendly 55-pound owner surrender, now safe in her foster home, is passionate about her one special person, in this case her foster mom, rolling over for belly rubs and then dancing and prancing about. Happily and highly energetic, Kaleesi also loves going on walks, improving her leash skills daily, likes games of fetch, chewing bones and playing with squeaky toys and balls. While she gets along well with dogs of all sizes, her prey drive has her chasing cats! Motivated by food and toys, she currently knows “come, “sit” and “down,” but having missed out on much of her training, she’s extremely intelligent, eager to please and should prove easy to teach. Crate trained, almost fully house-trained, and at work on her manners, Kaleesi will thrive in an active home with loving adopters to perfect her manners, complete her training, including her commands, and ensure that her second life is her best paws-ible life. See more photos and videos here!   Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails). If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $100. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.  Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Please email dogs@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can't accept calls.PLEASE NOTE:  The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter.  Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets.  Here is some interesting info on breed identification:  https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member!
