Story
This sweetie is Everest. She is such a good girl. Everest walks beautifully on a leash, is crate trained and was house trained in her previous home. She loves older kids and playing fetch. That sounds like a perfect combination, does it not? Pretty Everest has been through many changes recently and now she is a bit worried. She can be uncomfortable with new places or people at first. Once she knows you, watch out. She is a kisser! She is hoping for an adopter who will give her some time and space to decompress. Everest has been conflicted with meeting dogs here at the shelter. She would probably do best with a mellow dog friend who would respect her space. Everest and cats do not get along, so that is a no go. And she has lived with children before and prefers the older children over rowdy younger children. Would you like to meet this very good girl? Come to the MSPCA in Methuen to say hello to Everest. Open hours are Tuesdays through Sundays from 12PM to 4:30PM. You will not be disappointed.

He’s medium energy—loves some playtime but also enjoys relaxing with a good routine. Eagen would thrive in a home that offers structure and regular opportunities for walks and play.He plays well with other medium and large dogs and enjoys social time with his dog friends. During his cat test, he gave gentle kisses to a calm cat and would likely do well with a dog-savvy cat in the home. Eagen hasn’t been tested with children yet but would benefit from a home with dog-savvy kids who understand giving him space to get comfortable.Eagen is smart and attentive, always ready to learn. He is fully crate trained, happily spending the day and night in his crate without issue. He’s working on his potty training and continues to improve with a consistent schedule. On walks, he’s still learning leash manners and would do best with a confident handler who can provide a little extra structure. This happy-go-lucky guy has so much love to give and is ready to become someone’s devoted companion. Could Eagen be the missing piece of your family? Please Note: All dogs are posted on our website until they are officially adopted. This dog may have other interested adopters in line. Story
Durango is a fun and outgoing young guy who can`t wait to find a home of his own! He came to us from a southern shelter so we don`t know much about his history, but he has been social and active since he got to us. He is a great combination of silly and smart, he enjoys training and then romping around in the yard. Durango is good at keeping himself entertained by tossing toys around for himself. He is still young and would do best in a home where his family can continue to teach him manners and help him become his best self! He isn`t always sure how to interact with other dogs, but might be able to have a well matched friend. If you think this dog could be a good match for your home and would like to learn more, stop by our Boston Adoption Center. We have open adoption hours Tuesday-Sunday from 12pm-3pm – no appointment needed to speak to a staff person regarding available dogs. Preparing your home for your new dog or puppy ahead of time can help ease the transition for your new pet and set you both up for success should there be a dog that’s a good match! To learn more about how to make the first few weeks with your new dog or puppy the most successful it can be, please visit www.mspca.org/petresources. For more information on our adoption process, please visit https://www.mspca.org/adoption-centers/how-to-adopt/ Please note, in an effort to keep the stress levels reduced for the dogs in our care, our dog kennel areas will not be open to walk through. Interested adopters will work with a matchmaker on staff to determine which dog(s) they’re interested in - and if we can identify a match, potential adopters will be able to meet those dogs outside of the kennel. Cat and small animal areas will remain open to walk through.

Story
Meet Peter Rabbit! This energetic guy is always up for an adventure and would make a fantastic walking buddy or outdoor companion. When he is not out exploring, Peter loves to snuggle and thinks he is a lap dog! Hell need an adopter who is willing to help him learn to be more polite using positive reinforcement. Peter could go home with a well-matched dog, but it will take lots of management and separation. He has had dog friends at the shelter and seems to love those who enjoy romping and wrestling. If he is not going home with another dog, he would absolutely love to have dog friends to play with. If you`re looking for an active, affectionate dog who is ready to be your best buddy, Peter Rabbit might just be the one!
