Story
Meet our Wonder Dog, sweet Jewel! Imagine having a place to call home, yet never knowing the warmth of true love. Then, picture being pregnant and abandoned like trash in the remote wilderness of Little River Canyon, Alabama. No houses nearby. No help. No shelter from the cold or rain. This was Jewels reality. Alone and vulnerable, she braved freezing temperatures and pouring rain, giving birth to eight beautiful puppies with no one to care for her. Without shelter, she did the only thing she could: she hid her newborns under rocks and in hollow tree stumps, shielding them from predators. Every day, Jewel risked her life searching for food, doing everything in her power to keep her puppies safe and alive. One day, a kind person spotted Jewel and her litter by the roadside. He followed them into the canyon, where he found them, terrified and tucked away beneath rocks, desperately trying to remain unseen. We hurried to help, managing to rescue several puppies that day. Some, frightened, scattered and Jewel herself disappeared into the wild. The next day, she was seen again, bravely moving her babies to a new hiding place, always thinking of their safety. Thankfully, we were able to gather the rest of the puppies to safety, at last, all eight were secure. We set a humane trap for Jewel, and within hours, this courageous mother was finally safe, too. Now, Jewel and her puppies are in a loving foster home where she can finally rest and heal. Jewel is a Collie mix, weighing about 29 pounds. Though shes understandably shy at first, she has the gentlest heart. Once she feels safe, shell quietly climb into your lap and shower you with soft kisses. Shes wonderful with people, gets along well with other dogs, and has an incredibly gentle soul. After everything shes endured, Jewel deserves a home where shell never have to feel fear, hunger, or loneliness again. She has survived the wild to protect her babies, now, she just needs someone to give her the loving home she truly deserves.   Adoption Fee: $200 - Includes Fixed, Microchipped & Up to Date on Vaccines Please visit our website www.summitssanctuary.org to learn more about this amazing pet and to see other available dogs.

Story
Meet Boomer A Dapper Duo Looking for a New Adventure Boozer and Boomer are a wonderful pair of seven-year-old mixed-breed gentlemen who are ready to find their new start. They have lived together their entire lives with the same loving family and get along famously, so they are the perfect ready-made pair for a home looking to add two amazing dogs at once! While they're a great team, Boozer and Boomer are not a co-dependent "bonded pair," which means they are also open to being adopted separately if the perfect single-dog home comes along. They're confident, well-adjusted dogs who would thrive either together or in their own individual homes. Both of these handsome boys are described as very dog-friendly, so they'd be great additions to a home with existing canine companions. Their previous owner describes them as beautiful, gentle, and well-behaved. What We Know About Boozer & Boomer: * Age: 7 years old * Breed: Mixed Breed * Personality: Gentle, well-behaved, and very dog-friendly * Status: A great pair who get along well, but are not a bonded pair and can be adopted together or separately. * History: Owner surrender, same owner their whole life. Boozer and Boomer are ready to share their love and friendship with a new family. They have so much love to give and would make a wonderful addition to any home. Story
Piper was adopted as a puppy and has a protective, yet loyal demeanor. She is unsure around new people but quickly warms up when other dogs are around. Piper is not super comfortable around small children, but with time she can be sweet with them. She prefers to keep her distance around young kids and does not like to be approached. She is loyal and protective. She is also very athletic and enjoys running and jumping. Looking for a loving family to give her a great home.

Story
Meet Eyra! DOB 1-30-24, Pyrenees mix, professional soft girl. I am what they call submissive and sweet, which really just means I will politely melt into the floor if you look at me too fast. I specialize in gentle tail wags, soft eyes, and the I promise I am a good girl face. When I first meet you, I might be a little shy. But once I feel safe, that is when my silly switch flips on. Suddenly I am doing the wiggly zoomies, play bows, random happy hops and possibly a dramatic flop onto my side because being adorable is exhausting. I get along great with other dogs as they help me feel brave. I am the kind of friend who shares toys, respects space, and says you go first at the water bowl. What I am looking for is a gentle home, kind humans, maybe a dog friend and a soft place to nap and feel safe! I promise to give you, sweet eyes full of love, soft cuddles, silly moments once I blossom, loyal, gentle companionship! I may start out a little shy, but if you give me patience, I will give you my whole heart.
