Story
Hi, I’m Addie! I’m an 8-year-old Border Collie weighing 41 lbs. I walk nicely on a leash and LOVE to play ball—it’s my absolute favorite thing in the world! With a tennis ball in play, nothing else matters. I’d do best in a home that enjoys playing ball with me from time to time and keeping me mentally engaged. I prefer to be the one and only dog, as I like having my people and space to myself, and I’m happiest when I don’t have to share the spotlight. That said, give me a tennis ball and I’m completely in my element. I have a gorgeous smile, love belly rubs, and enjoy snuggling just as much as playtime. I’m looking for a home where I can relax, be adored, and still use my smart Border Collie brain and instincts. (The herding ball is a close second favorite toy!) A meet and greet at the shelter is required to make sure I’m a great match for my future family. ------ Before being rescued, many of our dogs had limited socialization, so they may need some time to adjust to life as a family pet. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog’s individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of these dogs adapt quite quickly. Being a part of their rehabilitation is a truly rewarding experience. To learn more about mill dogs and start the adoption process, visit our website!

Story
I first found Zoe at a humane society when she was about 1yo. She crawled right up into my lap as soon as I sat down & that was it, she was coming home. Zoe is an 8yo Border Collie/McNab MIX; McNab wasnt listed. She is one of the sweetest, most gentle dogs Ive ever met in my 38 years. Even people with a fear of dogs have liked her. She loves to snuggle & is very affectionate. She is an extremely obedient listener if she knows the command & rules, and be ready, she is SO SMART! Zoe is eager to learn & does so quickly. I trained her to stop when I stop in one day. She’s also very sensitive; you can’t raise your voice at her. If she hears you crying, she will come over & try to love on you! Border Collies love activity & having a task that can be rewarded. Her personality does include that but it’s not a huge drive. My hope is that her new home will have land for her to run, play & explore. She is great with other sweet animals, preferring a sibling over being alone, but not required.

Harvey is a great dog. Very sweet, very high energy. I adopted him when he was 8 weeks old in 2021. He was born June of 2021 He needs someone who is willing to train him. I have been unable to walk him on a leash, but with the right training he will do great at it. He does well with boarding and professional grooming. I am hoping to find him a family with land to run on. No apartments.

Story
I am 60 pounds of sleek, shiny, mostly black awesomeness! Hi! I’m Hobbs. I love to run and play. I also enjoy relaxing on the couch, next to your favorite chair, or by your feet. I’m a good dog with puppy energy. I thrive on routine and relax when things are calm and quiet. I'm very smart and love to learn! I'd do well in a home with older children. General Socialization Notes: I am super smart and very sensitive too. I learn quickly and am eager to please. I don’t need to be kenneled. I won’t chew your shoes. If I’m really stressed, I might chew up some of my toys. I’ll bring you any squeakers I pull out in exchange for a treat. I’m a bit reactive on leash especially around distractions. Rabbits, or rocks that look like rabbits, are too big of distractions for me. I definitely walk better if I’m somewhere they are not. I get really loud in the car at first - too excited. We are working on these things and I am willing to learn. Right now I have neighbor dogs that bark at me and jump at my fence. That upsets me but if my foster mom comes out with me, I try to ignore them but sometimes it's a little challenging. I love praise almost as much as treats though. I’m a little timid. The wind scares me. Loud noises too. I am getting better. I like to go someplace I feel safe or be next to a safe person who reassures me when I’m nervous. That makes me feel so much better. The vacuum and I do not get along. The lawnmower is no better. I'm willing to work on that. Does Hobbs like other animals? I’ve been living with 2 older dogs about my size. I would like a home with a dog around my age and size to play with me. I’d be fine as your only dog too if I get lots of attention. No cats or small pets. Certainly no rabbits! Does Hobbs like children? I think I would love children who are not too little. Maybe teenagers or near teens. Someone to play with me. I live with a disabled young man and I have learned how to be very careful and gentle with him. I even let my foster mom know when he needs her. Favorite Toys: I like a variety of toys. A tug toy, something I can shake if you’re not in a tug mood. Stuffed toys don’t last long. Squeaker balls are my favorite! I’ll put them right in your lap so you can toss them across the room for me. That’s my favorite game. I love to leap up and catch them. I’m really very good at it. I’m AMAZING at catching a ball tossed for me and bringing it right back to your lap. I like to play that game a lot! I’ve even learned how to take turns with my foster sister with catch in the house. I’m better at it than she is! Ideal Forever Home: My ideal forever home is one with a pretty big yard and some indoor floor space to play too. I’d love a dog around my size and age who will play with me. I would also be fine as your only dog. I do like getting all of the attention. A 6 foot privacy fence is a must. If you’re looking for a best friend who is smart, sweet, loyal, and playful, I’m your guy!

Story
My current Mom tells me I am a stunning Border Collie/German Shepherd mix with the brains, heart, and energy to match my good looks. I am full of playful energy but already showing the loyalty and intelligence of my working dog breeds. I love snuggling, playing and being joyful. I am also VERY intuitive and I will come to you when you are anxious and upset and will put my paw on you or lay next to you to calm you. I am very good with young children. I do need time meeting new people so I need patience. General Socialization Notes: I would love to train with my humans! I am learning to tolerate loud noises (vacuum) and things that move quickly. Also, I do jump on you when you return home so I'll need to work on that. I'm smart and I am treat motivated! I am a bit unsure with new people so I need time to warm up. Does Milo like other animals? I may do best as an only dog or may do well with a calm dog. Does Milo like children? I do very well with young children. I can be very gentle but I have been known to 'herd' them so I'd need humans that understand that. Favorite Toys: I love steak bones, tug-of-war, chasing small balls around the floor, and my stuffy toys. Ideal Forever Home: I'd do best in a home where my humans are willing to train with me. I'd also love to be in a family that likes adventures. I am a higher energy pup so I need outlets for my energy. I'd be fine as an only dog where I can get all the cuddles and snuggles.

****FOSTER NEEDED!**** I love the outdoors and soaking up the sun! Hey there! I'm Journey, and I'm a happy, energetic dog who loves the outdoors. There's nothing better than lounging in the sun, soaking up the warmth, and chasing squirrels around the yard (they can be tricky!). I'm at my happiest when I'm with my people, and I'd love a home with a big backyard where I can stretch my legs. I may do best in a home as an only dog so I can get all the love. General Socialization Notes: I'm a social pup who enjoys meeting new people! I have a blast playing fetch, tug-of-war with ropes, and hunting for hidden treats in the house! I'm pretty good on my leash, but if I spot another animal, I can get a little excited. I'm well-behaved inside, but when I'm outside, the world can be a bit distracting for me. I'd need a family that is willing to work on that with me. Does Journey like other animals? I think I'd thrive in a home with no other animals, where I can have a big yard to call my own. I am not sure about cats since I haven't met any. Does Journey like children? Yes, I lived in a home with children, older and younger, and did well with them. I was always very gentle. Favorite Toys: I love all toys and especially love playing fetch!! Ideal Forever Home: I'd love a home where I can have a big yard to call my own and plenty of toys to keep me entertained. I'd do best in a home as an only dog. I also want to work on feeling more comfortable when seeing other dogs while I'm out walking. I'm ready to join a family that will love me and take me on lots of adventures!

Story
Berry is a 19-pound Australian Shepherd with a sensitive and gentle nature who is looking for a calm, patient home. She can be easily startled by noise and unfamiliar environments, so Berry needs adopters who understand the importance of moving slowly, keeping expectations low, and allowing her the space she needs to feel safe. Berry is gradually coming out of her shell with staff, showing quiet and steady progress as she builds trust. While she is learning each day, she still remains reserved and cautious and will thrive best in a peaceful environment with consistent routines and understanding caregivers. Berry requires another confident, well-adjusted dog in the home to help her feel secure and show her how to navigate new situations. A secure yard is also important so she can explore at her own pace and gain confidence in a safe, familiar space. A meet and greet at the shelter is required to ensure Berry and any resident dogs are a good fit. With patience, time, and a gentle approach, Berry has the potential to continue blossoming in the right home.
