Story
Meet Joey, a sweet pup with an incredible story of resilience. Joey and his four siblings arrived at WCAC scared, unsocialized, and in need of a lot of love. To them, people were terrifying, but thanks to the kindness and dedication of the community, Joey has made amazing progress. He’s now a gentle, good-tempered pup who gets along great with dogs, cats, and kids. Joey is ready to begin his next chapter with optimism and a wagging tail! We believe he may be a collie mix. Please note that the listed adoption fee does not include the cost of neutering or bringing him up to date on vaccinations. If you have any questions or would like more information, please contact Animal Control at 618-327-9471 or reach out through our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100064739284772. Joey is ready for a loving home—could it be yours?

Story
🐾 Meet Finn, a handsome and sweet medium-sized pup (around 45 lbs) born on November 1st, 2023. While we're playing the guessing game on his breed (maybe a Border Collie mix?), his wonderful personality is crystal clear!💖 And get this – Finn has a SECRET ADMIRER! This amazing person has gifted him an incredible adoption starter kit that includes: * A comfy Martingale collar for safe walks * A sturdy leash for adventures * A seatbelt to keep him secure on car rides * SIX MONTHS of heartworm prevention to keep him healthy! But wait, there's more! Finn has just embarked on an amazing journey. He's a graduate from the SWATT program at Shawnee Correctional Center! Over 12 weeks, Finn worked with dedicated handlers to learn all his basic commands and so much more. He's now more prepared to become a wonderful companion in his forever home!Finn and his siblings came to us needing a some extra TLC after their previous owner could no longer care for them. This means Finn is a bit timid at first, but trust us, beneath that shyness is a loving heart just waiting to blossom with patience, gentle attention, and lots of love. We've also heard through the grapevine that this charming boy has a soft spot for cheese and hotdogs – the way to his heart might just be through his stomach! 😉 He also loves to be close to his people, so he's looking for a home where he can be a cherished member of the family.Could you be the one to give Finn the loving and patient forever home he deserves? This special boy will come to you with a wonderful foundation of training thanks to the SWATT program and a great started kit #SecretAdmirerIf you have a gentle heart and room in your life to help a truly special dog to blossom, please reach out to learn more about adopting Finn! ❤️#SweetBoy #AdoptionStarterKit #LookingForHomePlease visit: Https://www.stfrancis-care.org/adopt for adoption information including the adoption application

Can You Give Felicity the Furever Home She Deserves? 🐾Meet Felicity, a sweet & gentle soul born on 11/1/23. This beautiful, medium-sized pup, possibly a Border Collie mix, came to us with her 5 siblings when their previous owner could no longer care for them. While her whole litter is quite timid, we truly believe Felicity will blossom in a loving, patient, & quiet home!Felicity may be the definition of shy, but don't let that fool you—she's incredibly sweet & longs for affection. She just needs time, gentle attention, & soft voices to feel safe. Once she warms up, her true personality will shine through! She loves being outdoors, running around, & given enough time & patience, she'll even snuggle up by your side. She also gets along well with other dogs!Outside of the shelter, some of Felicity's fears melt, & she'll even take tasty bits of cheese right from your hand. Imagine the progress she'll make with consistent love & a calm environment! If you have a quiet home & a big heart ready to give Felicity the time, love, & patience she needs to come out of her shell, please consider opening your home to her. She promises to fill your life with quiet companionship & endless love.Interested in meeting Felicity? Story
Meet Linda, our little Cinderella story!  At just 1½ years old, this beautiful border collie mix has already overcome so much. Found on the side of a gravel road—malnourished, flea-covered, and with barely any fur—no one even knew what kind of dog she was. But look at her now! Linda is a gentle soul with the sweetest heart. She loves getting pets and scratches, but is just as happy relaxing on her own. When she’s feeling playful, she’ll show off her adorable backyard zoomies with her foster friends! Linda is a bit shy and slow to warm up, she would benefit from having another dog in her home to show her the ropes and help her blossom.   She also need a securely fenced yard, as she has not yet learned leash skills!   Potty trained and perfectly trustworthy uncrated, Linda truly went from rags to riches—and now she’s ready to find her happily-ever-after with a family who will love her like the princess she is.  If you are interested, complete the  Adoption Application  on our website at  www.NeedyPaws.org  and we will contact you.  Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO. Linda’s adoption fee is $295.00, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip. We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter.
