Meet Mr. Bean, a 10 week old male border collie/lab mix who is expected to weigh 45 to 50 pounds when grown. He is very handsome and quite distinguished in his black and white tuxedo colors. Bean loves to play alone or with other dogs and really enjoys tug. He is just a bit shy until he gets to know you, then he's ready to snuggle up! Bean has a gentle energy and gets along with everyone. He sleeps well at night, is paper trained and currently working on mastering potty training. Please consider that puppies this young cannot be successfully crated for more than 4 hours at a time without a break. Bean comes fully vaccinated, neutered, and up to date on preventatives. Found on the side of a gravel road—malnourished, flea-covered, and with barely any fur—no one even knew what kind of dog she was. But look at her now! Linda is a gentle soul with the sweetest heart. She loves getting pets and scratches, but is just as happy relaxing on her own. When she’s feeling playful, she’ll show off her adorable backyard zoomies with her foster friends! Linda is a bit shy and slow to warm up, she would benefit from having another dog in her home to show her the ropes and help her blossom.   She also need a securely fenced yard, as she has not yet learned leash skills!   Potty trained and perfectly trustworthy uncrated, Linda truly went from rags to riches—and now she’s ready to find her happily-ever-after with a family who will love her like the princess she is.  If you are interested, complete the  Adoption Application  on our website at  www.NeedyPaws.org  and we will contact you.  Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO. I'm a college graduate! I spent 10 weeks at MSU training with the students there in the DARR School of Agriculture in their Companion Animal Program. I was already a sweet girl, but now I’m trained and really ready to be the best girl ever for a new family. Won’t you give me a chance? Hi, I'm Gabi! I'm a Border Collie/Heeler/German Shepherd mix! I'm very sweet and affectionate and I am looking for a home that can keep up with me.  If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis, MO. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas.  All of our pets are neutered or spayed, have vaccinations appropriate for their age, treated with flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormed and dogs are also microchipped. #adoptdontshop ##2488927##
