Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Brie is a 9-year old BC/Rat Terrier mix who is in need of a forever home due to allergies of the newborn child of her owners in her current home.  She is a well-behaved, playful girl and seems to get along well with people and other dogs, and likely even with cats, although her exposure to them has been limited. Her owners say this about Brie: Brie , Breed: Border Collie, Rat Terrier mix , Age: Approx. 9 years old , Health: No current healthconcerns. She is up to date on Rabies shot. Her annual is due but I will get that done soon. She isspayed.Description: She is very lovable and loves her people. She can be a good guard dog but knowswhen to stand down. She can be vocal and is very vocal when with dogs bigger than her. She's notafraid to establish her space and boundaries if need be; however, she is not one to bite others at all - She is a sweetheart. She can get defensive around big dogs but all she does is bark. She barks when she plays too so it may seem as if she's being aggressive but she's really just playing. She is good withpeople, kids, and other dogs. She will lay on the couch with you or sit/lay on the ground next to you and watch TV. She's still active for a 9 year old and can jump when excited. She loves to run and havespace - though gated is best. She is leash trained, but needs the leash. I am doing research on the best place to take her because I know she can be in a loving home. I have a bed, kennel, blankets, vest, brushes, heartworm medicine and more that she will go with. Last check up date: 09/29/23, Center Hill Animal Clinic , Reason for rehome: newborn is allergic If you would like to meet or know more about Brie, please contact her owners at carlton95moore@hotmail.comVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 28, 2025, 5:22 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Spirit is a young Border Collie who was adopted recently by her current owner from what that owner describes as 'a bad situation.'  Her owner says Spirit is a lovely dog but is not fitting in with the resident dogs in her current home, and so is available for adoption. While Spirit and the resident dogs in her current home do not get along, this does not mean that Spirit will react negatively to all dogs in general; however, a potential owner should be aware of this and that Spirit may want to be an only dog in her home.  She is accepting of adults and older children, but will chase cats if the opportunity arises.  Since Spirit is living in Kentucky and is not being kept on heartworm preventive, she will need to be tested for heartworm and a potential owner should make this a priority. Spirit's current owner says that she is a 'Shy loving border collie that needs someone who knows how to work with them. Might not like other dogs.' If you are interested in meeting Spirit or learning more about her, please contact her current owner at hatfield.michelle@gmail.comVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 5, 2024, 3:42 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please contact tammybuehrer@gmail.com for more information about this pet.  Chloe — Whispy, Smart & Ready to Fly! &#226&#156&#168   Age: ~9 months Weight: 24 lbs Height: ~16 inches Spayed Female Border Collie Mix BC experience required Fenced yard required Best as an only dog (see below!) No young kids Chloe may be petite in size, but her personality is anything but small. This spirited young Border Collie mix is sweet, sensitive, whip-smart—and ready for the right home to help her continue her journey toward confidence and joy. A Remarkable Transformation Chloe arrived in foster care in early March, shut down and scared of everything—especially people. She couldn’t make eye contact without trembling and urinating in fear. But with time, consistency, and a whole lot of love, she’s made amazing progress. She now seeks affection, makes eye contact, and looks to her trusted person for reassurance. Meeting new people is still a process, but with proper introductions and patience, Chloe is learning that humans can be safe and even fun!  Dog Dynamics Chloe LOVES other dogs—sometimes too much. While she enjoys playing with canine friends, she’s prone to becoming overly dependent on them. In the home, she would do best as a solo dog with regular access to appropriate dog friends. If there is another dog in the home, that dog must be very neutral and non-reactive, so Chloe doesn’t default to following them instead of building trust with her people. She’s learning to enjoy solo time and is starting to build confidence through one-on-one training sessions with her foster.     Training Superstar Training Chloe is a dream for anyone with the patience to let her think things through. She is extremely intelligent and eager to learn, picking up commands quickly once she feels safe. She knows: • Come • Sit • Her name • “Wait” • “Kennel up” • “Off” She’s working on “Down” and improving every day. Chloe needs a home that will gently push her outside of her comfort zone—not one that will coddle her fears. She thrives with structure, gentle guidance, and a little bit of challenge.   Farm-Ready Chloe has become quite the little farm dog! She enjoys outdoor time, loves to run, and would not thrive in a small city yard. She’s respectful of the chickens on her foster’s property (who are housed in a secure run), and she shows interest but has never caused trouble. She ignores the indoor cats and gives them space. Outside, she may chase barn cats—especially the ones who instigate a game!—but she means no harm.   Car Rides & Safety Chloe rides beautifully in the car when secured in a seat-belt harness. She quietly naps or watches the world go by. She’s not a fan of being crated in the car and does best buckled in. Due to her lingering fear responses, she must be tethered or crated—she is still a flight risk and needs continued work to build confidence in new environments.      Best Home Environment Chloe will thrive in a calm, structured home. &#226&#156&#133 Best as an only dog (or with a very benign resident dog) &#226&#156&#133 Needs a securely fenced yard and space to run &#226&#156&#133 No young kids—older teens (13+) who understand her sensitivities may be okay &#226&#156&#133 No dog parks or chaotic social settings &#226&#156&#133 Ideal for someone who enjoys training and helping a dog blossom   A Diamond in the Rough Do you have time in your life for the most wonderful little dog you could ever imagine having in your life? Chloe is a diamond in the rough—an absolute sprite of a dog. Bright, happy, eager, and affectionate, she has so much love to give. She still has lessons to learn, and she needs someone special to help her become the dog she was always meant to be.Is that person youChloe is being fostered in Onondaga, MI Please contact tammybuehrer@gmail.com if you have any questions about Chloe.  You can complete an application to adopt Chloe or any of the dogs on our website at www.comebyebcrescue.org .    ***  The potential adoptor will get a refund on the Application Fee if it’s determined by the Foster Parent that it’s not a good match for the dog and the dog for them, if we do not process their application.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 5, 2025, 8:41 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Ernie is a 4 year old Border Collie who was found stray when he was approximately 2 1/2 years old and was adopted by the persons who found him.  However, Ernie is not comfortable with the young child in the home, and his owners want to find him a forever home where he will not be around young children.  If you want more information about Ernie, please e-mail his owner at kaitstanley@gmail.com. Ernie is a larger BC at 55 pounds, and has good house manners, rides nicely in the car, and likes his crate.  He is fine with other dogs; it is not known how he would react to cats.  As mentioned, small children make him anxious and he displays a variant of herding behavior that includes nipping.   This nipping is likely a sign of stress and Ernie would do well with an experienced BC owner who could address this stress and the nipping behavior.  Ernie has nipped a friend of the family in what could be considered a bite:  skin was not broken, but Ernie needs to learn behaviors that do not involve his use of teeth.  He is intelligent, active, and trainable.  His owners say this about Ernie: Ernie is a wonderful dog who loves to play with other dogs and snuggle. He is energetic but tires out with exercise, a visit to the dog park, or a walk. He loves routine and appreciates consistent walks every day. He does very well with his commands and doesn't mind spending time in his crate or going on car rides. Ernie does have strong herding/nipping behavior and, unfortunately, it seems that he exhibits more of this with small children. If you can offer Ernie a home without small children, he has the potential to be a wonderful companion.  Please contact his owner at the above e-mail.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 11, 2024, 8:56 pm

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Phoebe is a Border Collie mix who is being re-homed by her owners due to her reactivity to another dog in the household, and the concerns of the owners that such behavior could increase. Her owners have had Phoebe for 8 years and are hoping to find a home for her where she is the only dog in the home.  The owners will update Phoebe's rabies vaccination and test her for heartworm before placing her in a new home. Her owners describe Phoebe this way:  'Phoebe is a beautiful collie. She is very sweet to people but does have random aggression towards our smaller dog. She would be an amazing only dog. She does great with our cat. She loves to run around so she prefers a fenced in yard.' Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please contact tammybuehrer@gmail.com for more information about this pet.Meet Maggie – A Bright Mind with a Tender Heart Maggie is a petite Border Collie mix with a big brain and a gentle spirit. Weighing just 22 pounds, this beautiful black-and-white girl is incredibly smart and eager to learn—especially when treats are involved! Maggie is still timid around people and will need a patient, experienced adopter to help her build confidence and work through her fears. While she thrives in the company of other dogs, she would do best in a home where she can also get plenty of one-on-one attention and positive reinforcement training. She has made great progress in her foster home, but she’s still considered a flight risk and is not suited for a home with young children. Maggie, along with her presumed littermates Toby and Chloe, was picked up as a stray in Southern Indiana. Despite her rough start, Maggie is making steady progress and has immense potential in the right home. Excellent with other dogs Highly intelligent and food motivated Needs a securely fenced yard and a calm environment Best suited to a home with no young children Will flourish with continued support and training If you have the experience and heart to help a timid dog blossom, Maggie might be the perfect match. Maggie is being fostered in Onondaga, Michigan. ****Not a dog for first-time owners. Must have a job!
