Story
**🐾 Meet Walter! 🐾** **Breed:** Border Collie Mix **Status:** Looking for his forever family to share adventures and snacks! **Background:** Introducing Walter, the charming Border Collie Mix with a heart-shaped marking on his head that makes him look like he’s always ready for a romantic comedy! At around 2 years old and weighing in at 50-55 lbs, Walter was found roaming the streets of Memphis, likely pondering the meaning of life—or just sniffing for the best food truck. This clever pup is fully vetted and has mastered the art of potty training, though he might still be working on his PhD in “sniffology.” **Personality:** While he may be a bit timid at first, once he warms up to you, prepare for a love fest! Walter LOVES toys and will happily entertain himself with a squeaky ball or a tug toy. He adores belly rubs and will roll over with enthusiasm, ready to soak up all the affection you have to give! Walter is a fetch aficionado, chasing balls like they hold the secrets of the universe. He walks like a pro on a leash but occasionally stops to catch up on the neighborhood gossip—because who wouldn’t want to know what the squirrels are up to? With a gentle demeanor and a knack for cuddling, Walter is ready to steal your heart and your snacks! **Ideal Home:** Walter would thrive in a loving environment where he can continue to play and grow, ideally with a family who enjoys outdoor activities, treats, and plenty of toys! Once adopted, Walter will transport with Rescue Vet Transport to her new forever family ( Transport is an additional $185). If you would like to make her a part of your family please follow the link below to our adoption application. Please note, our volunteer team works very hard and they are very responsive so please submit your application only when you are ready to welcome your new furry friend. https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/BCAR/Dog

At around 2 years old and weighing 50-55 lbs, Thomas was found wandering the streets of Memphis, probably on a quest for the ultimate belly rub. **Personality:** This charming goofball has a talent for making friends wherever he goes, and he’s not afraid to show it with a little happy dance for treats! Already potty trained and a leash-walking superstar, Thomas is your perfect sidekick, whether you’re off on a grand adventure or simply lounging on the couch binge-watching your favorite show. Story
**SALEM HAS BEEN ADOPTED!** Sweet, sociable, splendid Salem seeks a loving forever home! This beautiful girl is an absolute gem and will bless one lucky household with a limitless amount of love, companionship, and loyalty. Salem found her way to Pal's Place from an overburdened animal control facility in Kentucky. Her breed and past are unknown, but we suspect she's a mix of several breeds combined to create our lovely, unique, beautiful Salem! Border Collie, Labrador, American Bulldog, Shepherd, Great Pyrenees, Hound, and more are all possible ancestors in her lineage. Her date of birth is also unknown, but she is a young adult with an estimated age range between 2-4 years and a current weight of 60 pounds. Salem is the kind of dog we think will fit in most households easily and will make a great companion for a family looking for a dog that is still active, playful, and fun-loving but one that also knows when to sit back and relax. She is an excellent mix of energies and is just as content cuddling on the couch as on a hiking trail. Salem is a quietly confident, friendly dog who loves people and greets everyone with a smile on her face and abundant tail wags. Her affectionate, easy-going, engaging personality is what we love most about this sweetheart, and we can't wait for this deserving girl to find her forever family. Salem is well-behaved in the home, crate trained, and does well with her housebreaking when taken out regularly. She loves other dogs almost as much as she loves humans and gets along very well with the several other dogs she shares her foster home with. Salem was recently spayed, vaccinated, heartworm tested (negative), and microchipped. With her clean bill of health, she's ready for her next chapter: a forever home of her own! Salem's adoption fee to the rescue is $375. She is being fostered on Chicago's north side and can be seen by appointment only after an application has been received and approved. For more info or an application, please email palsplace1@hotmail.com or visit palsplacerescue.org. Unfortunately, we cannot place holds on our dogs for any reason. Please do not submit an adoption application unless you are ready to meet and welcome a dog into your home within three days of applying. Adoption applications and correspondence from the rescue may end up in your spam or junk folder. If you are waiting for our reply, please check those folders regularly, and if it has been 48 hours without a reply, please follow up with an email to ensure your application was received. •Salem's adoption fee is $375. ** Pippin is currently in a foster home, and he is available for adoption! Email applications@chicagocaninerescue.org to set up a meet + greet! **Pippin is a truly extraordinary pup who deserves a loving, patient, and understanding home. Despite facing significant challenges—being deaf, partially blind, and having neurological issues—Pippin is full of spirit and affection. He’s looking for a special person who can offer him the structured, caring environment he needs to thrive.About Pippin:Breed: Double merle Border Collie!Personality: Loving, intelligent, and in need of a structured routinePippin requires a home with an experienced owner who can provide him with a strict daily routine. He thrives on consistency and would do best in a home without other pets or young children. His neurological issues make him sensitive to changes, so a predictable environment is crucial for his well-being!His favorite toys? Balls and squishy toys. He`ll even drop them at your feet for more fetch! What Pippin Needs:Experienced Owner: Pippin needs someone who understands special needs dogs and is ready to provide a bit extra training and care.Routine: A strict daily routine helps Pippin feel secure and avoid overstimulation.Leash Requirements: He loves walks and playtime, especially tug-o-war, but will need a chain or cable leash for safety.Interactions: Pippin can interact with smaller dogs and cats but finds larger dogs intimidating. He would prefer to be the only pet in the household to avoid resource guarding and to ensure he feels secure.Pippin has been thriving in his foster home! He is a happy, relaxed guy :)** Submit your foster or adoption application at ChicagoCanineRescue.org! **

Story
Maggie given a little time to warm up to strangers, she is sweet and grateful. She is timid and shy at first but bonds quickly to human caregivers and will chose mellow male dogs for playmates. Maggie growls to let other dogs know she’s overwhelmed and ask for space. She is fostered around kids and cats but ignores them. She’s estimated to be 6 yrs old, a mixed breed - Healthy - Spayed and Heartworm treated - She’s looking for the simple life, a yard and patience while she learns her environment. FOSTERED IN TEXAS. *Adoption Fee includes fee by van transport to PNW, Midwest or NY-NJ-CT-VA-VT states by pet transport partners. Maggie has been fostered by a retired couple who gave her time to decompress (low stimuli activities, routine with crate time and regular meals). She has started field trips with rescue volunteers to new places. She is painfully shy but warms up within an hour to new people and comes for petting and affection.
