**🐾 Meet Walter! 🐾** **Breed:** Border Collie Mix **Status:** Looking for his forever family to share adventures and snacks! **Background:** Introducing Walter, the charming Border Collie Mix with a heart-shaped marking on his head that makes him look like he’s always ready for a romantic comedy! At around 2 years old and weighing in at 50-55 lbs, Walter was found roaming the streets of Memphis, likely pondering the meaning of life—or just sniffing for the best food truck. This clever pup is fully vetted and has mastered the art of potty training, though he might still be working on his PhD in “sniffology.” **Personality:** While he may be a bit timid at first, once he warms up to you, prepare for a love fest! Walter LOVES toys and will happily entertain himself with a squeaky ball or a tug toy. He adores belly rubs and will roll over with enthusiasm, ready to soak up all the affection you have to give! Walter is a fetch aficionado, chasing balls like they hold the secrets of the universe. He walks like a pro on a leash but occasionally stops to catch up on the neighborhood gossip—because who wouldn’t want to know what the squirrels are up to? With a gentle demeanor and a knack for cuddling, Walter is ready to steal your heart and your snacks! **Ideal Home:** Walter would thrive in a loving environment where he can continue to play and grow, ideally with a family who enjoys outdoor activities, treats, and plenty of toys! Once adopted, Walter will transport with Rescue Vet Transport to her new forever family ( Transport is an additional $185). If you would like to make her a part of your family please follow the link below to our adoption application. Please note, our volunteer team works very hard and they are very responsive so please submit your application only when you are ready to welcome your new furry friend. https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/BCAR/Dog

**SALEM HAS BEEN ADOPTED!** Sweet, sociable, splendid Salem seeks a loving forever home! This beautiful girl is an absolute gem and will bless one lucky household with a limitless amount of love, companionship, and loyalty. Salem found her way to Pal's Place from an overburdened animal control facility in Kentucky. Her breed and past are unknown, but we suspect she's a mix of several breeds combined to create our lovely, unique, beautiful Salem! Border Collie, Labrador, American Bulldog, Shepherd, Great Pyrenees, Hound, and more are all possible ancestors in her lineage. Her date of birth is also unknown, but she is a young adult with an estimated age range between 2-4 years and a current weight of 60 pounds. Salem is the kind of dog we think will fit in most households easily and will make a great companion for a family looking for a dog that is still active, playful, and fun-loving but one that also knows when to sit back and relax. She is an excellent mix of energies and is just as content cuddling on the couch as on a hiking trail. Salem is a quietly confident, friendly dog who loves people and greets everyone with a smile on her face and abundant tail wags. Her affectionate, easy-going, engaging personality is what we love most about this sweetheart, and we can't wait for this deserving girl to find her forever family. Salem is well-behaved in the home, crate trained, and does well with her housebreaking when taken out regularly. She loves other dogs almost as much as she loves humans and gets along very well with the several other dogs she shares her foster home with. Salem was recently spayed, vaccinated, heartworm tested (negative), and microchipped. With her clean bill of health, she's ready for her next chapter: a forever home of her own! Salem's adoption fee to the rescue is $375. She is being fostered on Chicago's north side and can be seen by appointment only after an application has been received and approved. For more info or an application, please email palsplace1@hotmail.com or visit palsplacerescue.org. Unfortunately, we cannot place holds on our dogs for any reason. Please do not submit an adoption application unless you are ready to meet and welcome a dog into your home within three days of applying. Adoption applications and correspondence from the rescue may end up in your spam or junk folder. If you are waiting for our reply, please check those folders regularly, and if it has been 48 hours without a reply, please follow up with an email to ensure your application was received. •Salem's adoption fee is $375. Radar is being fostered in PA. He has some vision, possibly shadows. Radar is the sweetest snugglebug with an intrinsically calm demeanor. He loves to be with his humans at home and is always up for meeting new people and dogs in the neighborhood. He LOVES going on walks and being outside. He gets very excited when he finds out a walk is happening and jumps up and down! Playing with toys is a favorite activity, second only to laying on the couch with his humans, getting headrubs. He sleeps in bed with his foster family but is also very content being in his bed. Radar can see some shadows and light but is mostly blind. He has no trouble getting around or navigating stairs. Radar is a gentle and loving soul. He would make a joyful addition to any home. BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

Story
Edgar is an energetic and goofy guy. This handsome boy enjoys walks, treats, and playing outside. While he doesn't care much for toys, he does love a good game of fetch with a ball. He can often be found walking around with his favorite ball in mouth. Edgar is house trained and crate trained. No complaints when you leave him alone, either. He loves taking walks and is a pro on leash. If you like to take long drives, Edgar will be right with you, he's great in the car. Edgar will grunt and spin when he wants attention - which often leads to belly rubs. Edgar is a sweet, snuggly boy who would do best in an adult-only home (no kids for Edgar), with no other pets. Consideration would be given to an experienced dog owner who has other pets. Edgar needs an owner who understands his need for space from time to time. Once trust is earned, Edgar will come to you and give lots of snuggles and love. If you want to meet this big boy in a little boy frame, apply to adopt Edgar!

*** To alleviate the need to bring an animal into the shelter environment, The Anti-Cruelty Society has the Home-to-Home Shelter Bypass service to help people find new accommodations for their pets privately. These animals are not located in any of the Society`s physical locations. If you are interested in adopting this animal, please do NOT click the Adopt Me button and instead reach out to the current owner directly via the email provided in the profile. As this is a Home-to-Home animal you are not required to fill out an Anti-Cruelty Society adoption application form. *** Zuzu is a 35-lb mini Australian Shepherd, born April 28, 2017. She’s spayed, microchipped, fully vaccinated, and healthy. She has no medical problems and only medical history is that she has had two teeth removed after they cracked from chewing on something too hard (antler chew). She does not take any medication besides monthly preventatives (Simparica and Heartgard). Azula has a blue merle coat and heterochromia (one blue eye, one brown), and a wonderful personality—loyal, affectionate, smart, and incredibly active. She is housebroken and crate trained, though we do not have a crate at home and she only uses them for grooming or boarding. She thrives with structure, training, and especially exercise. Her favorite activity is playing frisbee, and she’d make an amazing agility or sport dog. She’s fast, athletic, and always ready to learn something new. Zuzu also has a strong herding instinct, so she tends to “herd” small children. While she has lived with our two young kids, we think she’d do best in a home with older kids or adults who understand her breed and behaviors.Zuzu does well with other dogs in structured environments like daycare, but due to some past negative experiences, she must be the only pet in the home. She can also be reactive on leash (barking and pulling), so a confident, dog-savvy owner is a must.Like many clever herding breeds, Zuzu can be a bit of a mischief-maker—she can open doors, jump fences, and will swipe food if left unattended. Meal times usually require a leash or supervision. But she’s eager to please, learns quickly, and would absolutely thrive in an environment where she’s mentally and physically challenged. Most of all, Zuzu is a Velcro dog. She wants to be by your side all day, following you from room to room, ready to snuggle or play. She’s sweet, loyal, and deeply bonded to her people. We are

Introducing Griffen! Is there anything cuter than a puppy? Before you decide to take the plunge into raising a puppy keep in mind the amount of commitment it takes raising a puppy. Puppies are not housetrained, they don`t know that shoes are not chew toys, and they won`t know any of the cool tricks that adult dogs know like how to sit or walk on a leash. Puppies need lots of patience, love, supervision, and proper socialization. A great way to bond with a new puppy would be to take a positive reinforcement-based puppy class together. If you are up for the adventure of raising a puppy, come down to our same-day adoption center and meet Griffen today!

Story
FREE TO A GOOD HOME!! If you are looking for a total Velcro dog, Yuki is your guy. He is incredibly cuddly, sweet and playful. His favorite past time is sleeping right next to you on the couch, glued to your side. If you don't pet him enough, he will paw at you until you give him attention. He loves a good game of tug of war and making puppy eyes at you when you're eating popcorn. I adopted Yuki back in 2020 during the pandemic when I was living out in the suburbs. In 2021, I ended up divorcing and moving into the city. He's really struggled to adapting to city living. I want to find Yuki a loving home where he can be outside in a spacious yard and he can run around and play without being fearful of a lot of noise and other dogs.
