Current Location: Korea 🇰🇷 ♡ 🧡 Meet Ma-eum A gentle soul learning to love again Ma-eum spent his early years tied outside on a farm, living in fear. He was abused by a male owner and frightened by children who threw balls at him. Because of that, he is still afraid of men, loud playground sounds, and the sight of bouncing toys. But despite all this, Ma-eum has the gentlest heart. For the past two years, he has been living in a patient and loving foster home. He has made slow, steady progress — on his terms — and is now ready for the next chapter of his life. 🧬 Personality Ma-eum is a quiet, thoughtful boy with a soft energy. He feels safest around gentle women with warm voices, and he truly thrives in calm, peaceful homes. He may keep his distance from men indoors, but sometimes shows more courage when outdoors. He isn’t the kind of dog who will run into your arms — but with time and patience, he’ll follow you anywhere. He enjoys peaceful walks, nosework games, gentle pets, and long naps by your side. He doesn't bark much, and he waits quietly when left alone after a short adjustment. 🏡 At Home ✅ House-trained (prefers peeing on vertical surfaces — his foster can provide wall-to-floor pads) ✅ Good with calm dogs (interested and social but may growl at overly excited dogs) ✅ Neutral to cats (no strong prey drive) ✅ Tolerates children (nervous around fast movements but never aggressive) ✅ Excellent in the car ✅ Loves brushing and gentle touch 🚫 Afraid of balls and squeaky toys — he prefers games with treats instead 💛 Ma-eum is looking for… A family who will let him set the pace. Someone who doesn’t expect instant cuddles but understands how meaningful it is when a shy dog chooses to stay close. Ideally, a female adopter or a quiet household with gentle energy. 📦 Foster home can provide pee pad setup 📍 Adoption includes interview & home check 📩 If Ma-eum’s story touched your heart, we’d love to tell you more. He’s been waiting a long time for someone who sees past the fear — and into his true, beautiful heart

Story
Horchata is living in a foster home. Fill out our quick adoption survey on our website to learn more about her and schedule an introduction. Horchata is: Spayed: Yes! Up to date on vaccines: Yes! Microchipped: Yes! Our microchips will automatically register when an adoption is finalized More about Horchata: Housebroken: Yes! Crate trained: She has been doing well with free roam and in her crate when home alone. Leash walking: Doing well so far! Dog social: Horchata has enjoyed playtime with similarly-sized dogs but will try to chase very small dogs. Cat social: Unknown Kid friendly: Horchata would thrive in an adult-only home. While she’s been friendly with children during short visits, she startles easily when woken suddenly so a child-free home might be best. Horchata likes: - Snuggles and giving gentle kisses - Helping you improve your reflexes by reminding you to throw that ball a little faster! - Just being with you, and in a loving comfy home Horchata is a loving senior lady who is just as sweet and refreshing as her namesake treat! She still has plenty of pep in her step, and is very friendly to everyone she meets (especially if they have treats!). She’s fully trained, self entertains and is fine to be left alone! She likes to be next to you on the couch/bed and will bring a toy to you to play with. She’s not bossy in the home (unless she needs to go out) and is a great work from home buddy. She is just a delight! Horchata's adoption fee has been sponsored by a generous supporter, and she is ready to snuggle up with her forever family! Next steps: Email adopt@onetail.org with questions, or submit an application online and we'll be in touch to schedule a meeting: https://www.onetail.org/apply-to-adopt/ *** Our adoption application stays on file for one year and can apply to any dog in our program. Once the app is submitted you will receive an email within 48-72 hours. For additional questions, email adopt@onetail.org ***

** Pippin is currently in a foster home, and he is available for adoption! Email applications@chicagocaninerescue.org to set up a meet + greet! **Pippin is a truly extraordinary pup with some special needs—and he’s looking for someone just as extraordinary to love him. He’s affectionate, intelligent, and thriving in his foster home… now all he needs is you.His foster dad has showed up and changed his life with patience and routine. We think his adopter will continue with calm leadership and patience. Story
Aza is 3 years old now. I’m just looking for a home that can provide lots of love and walks. I think she would do better in a family, though obviously after an adjustment period. She thinks she’s a big dog and protector, and will bark at people entering the home. She’s really sweet though, all bark, no bite. If you think she will physically protect you, you’d be mistaken. She knows a few languages and is fairly smart. She’d do anything for a good treat, and knows a few tricks. She dislikes bath time but will tolerate it. She gets a lot of anxiety around cars, so it’s better for things to be in walking distance or be left home. She did spend time with a pit growing up, so she can be stubborn, but treats and heavy praise overrides it. price can be negotiated down. she does come with a crate, a few toys, leash, beds, food/food container, food bowls, gravity water bowl, and shampoo.
