Story
Hello. Our names are Nadia (F), Kinsey (F), Nathan (M), and Skeeter (F). Our rescuer was told our mom was a Belgian Malinois and dad was a Border Collie. We were born on July 8, 2023. We were turned over to the rescue lady when we were babies. There were eight of us. Not long after arriving, we started to get sick. We four were and are the healthiest. When we were out playing in the yard, she often asked us where the babies went, who was sweet and shy. Who switched them out of your energizer bunnies, then laughed as we ran around like crazy kids? We are brilliant, treat motivated (easy to train), sulk when scolded, crate trained, shy at first but warm up quickly, not house or leash trained (quick learners), like cats, submissive to other dogs, and have never been around children. Our foster mom has commented how wonderful we would be on an agility course.  I want to go hiking, go to the beach, run around on snow deeper than I am tall, curl up with you in front of the fireplace, and watch a movie. I have only heard my foster mom talking about most of this stuff. If you have patience and teach me, I will love doing whatever you do. Please request an application to begin the adoption process at alittlelonger2home@gmail.com. Story
Meet Mazie Mae Mazie Mae is an extraordinary young dog with an even more extraordinary story. She was sadly dumped in a park in a rough neighborhood and survived on her own for about 10 days, thanks to a kind stranger who fed her. Though she was shy and scared at first, Mazie Mae has absolutely blossomed in foster care and is now a happy, loving, and playful girl who’s ready for her forever home.Mazie Mae is curious, intelligent, and loves to explore—very true to her Border Collie roots. She would thrive with an active person or family who enjoys long walks, hikes, or outdoor play. She especially loves rope toys, balls, and even empty plastic water bottles, which she proudly turns into her favorite toys! She is great with other dogs and greets them enthusiastically—no aggression at all—she just really wants to play. Another dog in the home would be wonderful as she loves to play and burn off energy, but any canine sibling should be active enough to keep up with her playful style. Mazie Mae has no aggression toward cats, but she is very curious and may chase if a cat runs, so slow introductions and supervision are recommended. Because of her energy and herding-breed tendencies, a home with children over six is best. Mazie Mae is crate trained and goes into her crate willingly, especially at mealtime. She is still working on house training and has made huge improvements, with no recent accidents in the home. She is learning how to signal when she needs to go out and continues to get better every day.Because she can jump and climb a 6 foot fence , Mazie Mae will need a very tall fence and supervised outdoor time .Mazie Mae has no food or treat aggression toward people, but she can be a little protective of treats around other dogs. Supervised separate treat times/rewards will be needed. Overall, Mazie Mae is a loving, resilient, joyful dog who has overcome so much and still greets life with a wagging tail and a playful heart. She would be an incredible addition to the right home—one that will give her the love, structure, and activity she deserves. Mazie Mae is ready to give her whole heart to someone willing to give her a chance.Name: Mazie maeBreed: Border Collie/American Staffordshire TerrierSex: FemaleAge: 11 monthsWeight: 42.0Spayed/Neutered: Too young - Spay/Neuter Contract will be required and strictly enforced.Vaccinations: Puppy vaccines will be up to date. All vaccinations required after adoption are the responsibility of the adopter.Heartworm: Too young (testing is done at 6 months of age)Housetrained:  Not usuallyMicrochipped: YesLocation of dog currently:    Mississippi      Puppy Adoption Fee:  $600.00 ATTENTION PUPPY ADOPTERS:  You must attend training/behavior classes with your new dog unless you are an experienced dog owner and your adoption coordinator is comfortable with your experience.  This requirement is for the benefit of you and your puppy, so if you experience behavior issues, you have a point of contact.  PLEASE—Think long and hard before adopting a puppy. Consider the lifestyle change this puppy will come with. He cannot be crated for more than 3-4 hours until he's older. Puppy-proofing your home will be necessary. Puppies scratch and nip, so if you have small children, can they handle this? Training will be so crucial in this puppy's life. Do you have the time?IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue. Story
We adopted Cooper from a family friend about 3 years ago who could longer take care of him. It took him a few days to feel safe and comfortable around other animals (we already had a cat and another dog—a lab) but once he realized he was safe, he was happy! We have had no issues with Cooper until we had a baby. Cooper became very anxious around her, and over time as our baby got bigger, that anxiety has turned to aggression (growling, bearing teeth, attempting to bite). Now with another little one on the way and with our first child becoming more mobile, we need to find a home for Cooper where there are no small children. He is a sweet, loving boy who loves to be outdoors! Looking for a child-free home where Cooper can feel safe, loved, and welcomed. (He is 9 years old)

Adoption Donation  $ 699      Located: NH (Transportation costs included to the Northeast , plz ask for more details ) Age: Est. 6 mos. old as of 11/28/25 Weight: Est. 23 lbs.   Izzy is a very active dog and would love a busy family. She enjoys long walks and would love a yard to run around in. She loves her foster siblings a great deal and plays with them constantly, loving the attention. Another dog in her new family would make her very happy. Izzy also is great with children. She is learning commands she knows sit, stay, wait and back up. She cuddles on the couch after a long day of play.  If you are looking for a dog that is equally go, go, go and cuddly, Izzy just may be your girl!    *** As part of the adoption donation this pup will participate in FOA's spay/neuter program or other programs available through FOHA. All puppies will have age appropriate vaccinations.  All small Pups need to be adopted by by children old enough to understand how to be respectful and gentle in handling a small young pup. ***     If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out an application on our website   www.fohari.org and email my foster parent for more information:    Mizzmorin@aol.com Please verify the location and readiness of this dog with us.  Because we save lives from various locations through out the United States, some dogs may not be in New England yet, nor ready for immediate adoption.       Our adoption application can be found here: https://fohari.org/application/  Our Adoption Process:   Go to our website and select the animal you are interested in. ALL animals are in foster homes as we do NOT have a  shelter where you can visit. Some animals are in foster care in New England, and some are located in other states. If the initials following the animals name are a state, then that is the state where the animal is located. If initials are not a state, then those are the initials of the foster home outside of New England and you will not be able to meet the animal ahead of time. Complete our online application You will be contacted by phone or email by the foster parent  or a member of our adoption team and will have the opportunity to find out more about the animal, and ask any questions that you have to ensure the animal is a good fit for your household. If the animal is local, you can meet the animal, but you would not be able to take the dog home until you are approved to adopt.  From our end, we will check references and schedule a home visit.  If you live in an apartment, or a condo, we will need to verify permission to own the animal from your landlord or condo board. Please let your vet’s office and references know we will be contacting them. If your  references are positive, we will schedule a home visit by a volunteer. Please try to accommodate the home visit volunteer as most  have busy schedules. Delays in the visit will result in a delay in the adoption. Once you are approved, you will receive an e-mail with your  adoption contract attached. This e-mail will have details about pick up, the balance of the adoption fee that is owed, etc. Please email your signed & witnessed contract and pay your adoption fee in full, and for any animals located out of state, you will be contacted for details about transport to New England. Once you have paid your adoption fee in full and sent back your contract, you can make arrangement to pick up your animal from the foster home or from transport depending on where the animal is located. Please bring a harness, collar, ID tag and leash when you are picking up the dog unless otherwise instructed by the foster parent. Our extensive approval process is intended to ensure the best fit between our animals and adopters.
