Story
Lilly-- What you dream of in a fur baby's story! Lilly is a perfect size fur baby that would be a great addition for someone who wants an active already trained good to go type of dog! She is six years old and ready for her next adventure. She has been loved her whole life and taken excellent care of, but her current environment is no longer one she can thrive in. The young babies and toddler make her to nervous and anxious and it's just not fair to Lilly. Lilly is SO smart, loyal, affectionate, and fun. She is the kind of dog who just wants to be wherever her people are. She loves being included and is happiest when she can hang out right alongside you. Some of Lillys favorite things: Snuggling in bed Going for walks Hiking and exploring Running around and having room to roam Peanut butter Long car rides — she is an absolute champ Being near her people Her crate — she has always genuinely loved her crate and sees it as her safe space Learning and training — she is incredibly intelligent and has been very well trained Being OFF leash and getting to explore — she has been trained for this and absolutely loves it She is house trained; crate trained and comes with her E-collar and everything she needs to continue her training. We truly believe Lilly was made for a home with space, structure, adventure, and someone who wants a best friend by their side. A child-free and ideally dog-free home would probably be her happiest fit, not because she's horrible, but because she prefers to be an only dog and offers so much to someone that a second dog isn't necessary. She would thrive in an environment where she can soak up all the attention. Lilly loves adventure and has been in so many social situations that she is amazing. Story
Hunter--SUCH A HAPPY FACE!!'s Story Hunter is an athletic, curious, and smart dog. He is independent and would do best in a home without other pets. Hunter is an adult dog, but he has had a rough start to life. He was very sick and barely alive when he was found by animal control, but he pulled through! Now he is ready to find a home where he can get lots of love and affection. Hunter is a strong and tough dog who has proven to be a survivor. He is stubborn and independent, but also very loving. He is looking for a home where he can be the only dog and receive lots of attention from his humans. If you think you could give Hunter the loving home he deserves, please contact the rescue organization to find out more about adopting him. To request an adoption application, or if you just have questions, EMAIL STORKWOODS@COMCAST.NET.

Story
Hello. Our names are Nadia (F), Kinsey (F), Nathan (M), and Skeeter (F). Our rescuer was told our mom was a Belgian Malinois and dad was a Border Collie. We were born on July 8, 2023. We were turned over to the rescue lady when we were babies. There were eight of us. Not long after arriving, we started to get sick. We four were and are the healthiest. When we were out playing in the yard, she often asked us where the babies went, who was sweet and shy. Who switched them out of your energizer bunnies, then laughed as we ran around like crazy kids? We are brilliant, treat motivated (easy to train), sulk when scolded, crate trained, shy at first but warm up quickly, not house or leash trained (quick learners), like cats, submissive to other dogs, and have never been around children. Our foster mom has commented how wonderful we would be on an agility course.  I want to go hiking, go to the beach, run around on snow deeper than I am tall, curl up with you in front of the fireplace, and watch a movie. I have only heard my foster mom talking about most of this stuff. If you have patience and teach me, I will love doing whatever you do. Please request an application to begin the adoption process at alittlelonger2home@gmail.com. Story
Frankie is a sweet puppy boy who is a foster favorite. He's everything you want in a dog: goofy, loving, playful, sweet, and cuddly! We think he's a border collie/bully breed mix, but whatever his mix is, it makes him perfect! A smart little guy, Frankie keeps his crate clean and does really well in the house. He loves chasing balls and wrestling with other dogs. This sweet puppy's greatest trait is that he loves his people. While his littermates take off when they come out of the crate, he immediately stays behind to give kisses and be petted. There's a heart dog in every litter, and Frankie is that dog. Frankie was born in December 2025 and found on a dirt road in January. He's fully vetted and ready to be your best snuggle buddy. If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at https://www.dixiegirldogrescue.org/forms PLEASE MAKE NOTE- OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN ALABAMA (UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED), OUR DOGS TRANSPORT TO THEIR NEW FAMILIES IN RHODE ISLAND AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN ADOPTED. Our rescue pets are fostered in Southern foster homes (unless otherwise stated) and are posted for adoption once they are completely vetted and ready to travel. Our pets are adoptable in Alabama and New England States. Our adoption fee includes transport fee, spay/neuter, current vaccinations, deworming, heart worm test for animals over 7 months old, all necessary vetting and an interstate health certificate. Once an application is received, our team is happy to answer all of your questions and send additional pictures and videos. Thank you for thinking rescue!
