Story
Alder is an extremely sweet, quiet, shy boy. He is the dog version of an introvert. He is gentle and sticks to himself and is great with other dogs of all sizes and with cats. He doesn't engage much with them thought as he prefers to do his own thing. He has to be the most low maintenance and chill dog I've ever had in the rescue out of hundreds of dogs. He is hesitant with people he doesn't know but never aggressive. Not an ounce of aggression. He was listed as a pit bull mix at the shelter when he was smaller and still a younger puppy but now that he is an older puppy (about a year) it's obvious that he is not a pittie but looks more like a border collie. He is currently still in Oklahoma where he was rescued but he can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. He has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport at one of our transport drop off locations below. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, we will either find a local foster to take him in or he will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. Note: No dogs are advertised as potty-trained because most dogs need at least some re-training in a new environment and after being in a shelter/rescue environment/strays. www.facebook.com/desideratarescue/reviews (copy and paste into a new browser window) Transport locations: - Washington State (Kennewick, Spokane, Tumwater, Tacoma, Tukwila, Lynnwood/Edmonds, Bellingham) - Oregon (Portland and Springfield) - Colorado (Ft Lupton) - Idaho (Heyburn and Boise/Meridian) - Utah (Ogden) - Wyoming (Evanston, Rock Springs, Laramie) - Montana (Missoula) - Illinois (Vandalia, Springfield, Chicago) - Indiana (Spiceland, Burn Harbor) - Michigan (St Joseph, Battle Creek, Ann Arbor) - Wisconsin (Madison, Wausau, Eau Claire, Appleton, Milwaukee) - Minnesota (Minneapolis/St Paul) - Iowa (Des Moines) - Ohio (Columbus and London) - Pennsylvania (Erie, Pittsburgh and Harrisburg) - New York (Buffalo and Albany) - Connecticut (Enfield) - New Jersey (Bedminster) - Nevada (Las Vegas) - Arizona (Flagstaff) Vetting: neutered, microchipped, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, dhpp vaccine x 3, lepto vaccine x 2, dewormed several times, on monthly flea and tick prevention, on monthly heartworm protection, heartworm tested (negative) Adoption fee: $550 (includes the $250 cost of transport from Oklahoma and all vetting listed above) Adoption application (copy and paste into a new browser window): https://form.jotform.com/82677586784176 FAQs (copy and paste into a new browser window): https://docs.google.com/document/d/12eb_SRtk1AzaBl87UltcLJ24MjH9UhQm_LE77iWZEQA/edit?tab=t.0 Desiderata Rescue is Oklahoma Licensed Rescue #95

Story
Henry is about a year old and he is the best boy. He looks like a small great pyrenees but also like an all white border collie. His build and energy is definitely more border collie like. He looooves to play with other dogs and run and play in the water. He is outgoing and confident and very smart. He is also great with cats. He would do really well in active household that enjoys outdoor activities or on a farm where he gets to help with daily chores. Another playful dog in the home would be a bonus. He is currently still in Oklahoma where he was rescued but he can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. He has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport at one of our transport drop off locations below. Maple can be very sweet and cuddle. Maple loves to apart of the family doesn’t like to be alone, loves to play and put your hand in her mouth. Can be around other dogs. She has not been around cats. She is crate trained. House training is touch and go. So someone who has experience with dogs is best. Also has a lot of time to be with her.

Story
Raven is a 5 year old Border Collie mix. She is a wonderful, playful, high energy dog that loves to be with her person and is available for cuddling basically anytime. We originally adopted her from a different owner when she was about 2 years old and she has been with us since. Part of Raven's desire for cuddles and to be around her owner is due to issues with separation anxiety. She has been to a training course where she has learned things like sit, stay, and to stay at your side when walking, but the separation anxiety has been persistent, though much more manageable. She is an incredibly smart dog and easily learns new tricks. Her ideal home would be a medium sized house with an owner that has a lot of time to spend with her on walks and with playtime. We believe she would also be good with a home that includes kids with ages at least 10+ as she can get easily overstimulated. She is good with cats and is typically good around other dogs, though she is very shy.

Story
Meet Tussey! Tussey is one of those unforgettable dogs — bright, affectionate, outdoorsy, and completely devoted to her people. She’s incredibly smart and thrives on human connection. Whether she’s cuddling on the couch, leaning in for pets, or hanging out with older kids (her favorite!), Tussey is happiest when surrounded by her humans. Tussy is a 1yr old female Border Collie that weights 37 lbs. This athletic girl loves the outdoors and makes an excellent running partner. She’s full of energy and joy, and she’ll shine in a home that can give her plenty of activity, playtime, and adventure. Inside the home, she’s wonderfully well-mannered: fully house-broken and does great in a crate. Tussey’s ideal canine companions are submissive dogs; she can be reactive with dominant personalities and needs time to warm up to new dogs in general. With patience and positive experiences, she has been making steady progress. She can also show some food or treat reactivity, but this is improving as she continues to learn trust and boundaries.Tussy gets along with cats. She loves her toys, loves to run, and absolutely loves her people. If you’re looking for a loyal, active, and incredibly sweet companion who will bring both adventure and affection into your life, Tussey may be the perfect match. Tussy enters the training program on Jan 9th and will graduate and be ready to go to their forever home on March 30th. Don’t let that stop you though, get your app in today so you can get to know Tussy better through their training reports. Tussy is spayed and UTD on all their vaccines, HW, FT, and have a microchip of their own. RPSM recommends children 6 years and older.  Tussy will require a standard fence to keep her safe. If you are interested in adopting Tussy, please go to www.rpsm.org to fill out an application. Tussy’s adoption fee is $300. ##2566245##

Story
My baby's name is Pedge he's 2 born on may 20th. We came across Pedges picture on facebook a little over two years ago where he was being given away for free and had no information listed about him. In the 2 years we've been lucky enough to have him be apart of our family we have learned a few things. One of those things being he is a reactive dog (i.e doesn't do well with strangers, loud noises, or other animals). He has had a little to no exposure to any other animals beside my five-year-old cat Mina (as seen in the picture) they have a tolerable relationship, though Pedge does try to play with him. He has shown signs to be aggressive towards unknown people, and sometimes unknown animals, though he has never hurt anybody (human or not) we keep him separate from anyone he’s not comfortable around. Despite that Pedge is a very loving and cuddly dog. Unfortunately we are being forced to relocate him do to moving please consider adopting this amazing dog.
