DiDi was born on June 25 2022. We adopted him when he was 8 weeks old. DiDi is our 2nd border collie after we lost our first one to a car accident after 8 months of owning him. DiDi means “little brother” in Chinese. Technically DiDi is the first dog that we got a chance to understand Border Collie as a breed. He is very smart and super energetic. He wants to play all the time. He is very friendly with strangers, likes to be petted, but he is not a companion. He doesn’t misbehave, doesn’t bark most of the time, never bites, but he is not a companion. We have tried to build a bond with him. But unfortunately we are not the right fit for his personality. The only time he would come to us is when he wants to play. As soon as he senses we are done playing, he would walk away and stay by himself. He has his own mind and determined. We don’t feel we are wanted by him except when he wants to play. He is a good dog, but we are not good enough for him.

Story

Alder is an extremely sweet, quiet, shy boy. He is the dog version of an introvert. He is gentle and sticks to himself and is great with other dogs of all sizes and with cats. He doesn't engage much with them thought as he prefers to do his own thing. He has to be the most low maintenance and chill dog I've ever had in the rescue out of hundreds of dogs. He is hesitant with people he doesn't know but never aggressive. Not an ounce of aggression. He was listed as a pit bull mix at the shelter when he was smaller and still a younger puppy but now that he is an older puppy (about a year) it's obvious that he is not a pittie but looks more like a border collie. He is currently still in Oklahoma where he was rescued but he can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. He has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport at one of our transport drop off locations below. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, we will either find a local foster to take him in or he will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. Randomly goes for a swim in the pond. Affectionate but also independent. Currently about 30 lbs. Someone will be very lucky to bring her into their family. We saw her on Facebook and she needed somewhere to sleep urgently. She was tied up outside in all weather. She had issues with food and water wich we worked on, she immediately bonded with my daughter, she loves to play with other animals, she will do anything to go play with another pup. Her only cons are that she has separation anxiety, and pulls on the leash, but with enough exercise shes not as bad on the leash, and will listen to commands while okay leash. She is very energetic and HAS to have a backyard to play in, she is the sweetest cuddly baby dog ever. I've never met such a sweet dog. She loves anyone and everyone! She loves to dress up and show off her outfits! Shes all around the perfect dog, as long as she can get her energy out! She has been a momma. Unfortunately we were never going to be able to keep her long term. We hoped it could work out that way but it hasnt and we just want whats best for her. I have lots of more information for anyone interested.
