Story
Alder is an extremely sweet, quiet, shy boy. He is the dog version of an introvert. He is gentle and sticks to himself and is great with other dogs of all sizes and with cats. He doesn't engage much with them thought as he prefers to do his own thing. He has to be the most low maintenance and chill dog I've ever had in the rescue out of hundreds of dogs. He is hesitant with people he doesn't know but never aggressive. Not an ounce of aggression. He was listed as a pit bull mix at the shelter when he was smaller and still a younger puppy but now that he is an older puppy (about a year) it's obvious that he is not a pittie but looks more like a border collie. He is currently still in Oklahoma where he was rescued but he can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. He has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport at one of our transport drop off locations below. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, we will either find a local foster to take him in or he will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. Note: No dogs are advertised as potty-trained because most dogs need at least some re-training in a new environment and after being in a shelter/rescue environment/strays. www.facebook.com/desideratarescue (copy and paste into a new browser window) Transport locations: - Washington State (Kennewick, Spokane, Tumwater, Tacoma, Tukwila, Lynnwood/Edmonds, Bellingham) - Oregon (Portland and Springfield) - Colorado (Ft Lupton) - Idaho (Heyburn and Boise/Meridian) - Utah (Ogden) - Wyoming (Evanston, Rock Springs, Laramie) - Montana (Missoula) - Illinois (Vandalia, Springfield, Chicago) - Indiana (Spiceland, Burn Harbor) - Michigan (St Joseph, Battle Creek, Ann Arbor) - Wisconsin (Madison, Wausau, Eau Claire, Appleton, Milwaukee) - Minnesota (Minneapolis/St Paul) - Iowa (Des Moines) - Ohio (Columbus and London) - Pennsylvania (Erie, Pittsburgh and Harrisburg) - New York (Buffalo and Albany) - Connecticut (Enfield) - New Jersey (Bedminster) Vetting: neutered, microchipped, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, dhpp vaccine x 3, lepto vaccine x 2, dewormed several times, on monthly flea and tick prevention, on monthly heartworm protection, heartworm tested (negative) Adoption fee: $550 (includes the $250 cost of transport from Oklahoma and all vetting listed above) Adoption application (copy and paste into a new browser window): https://form.jotform.com/82677586784176 FAQs (copy and paste into a new browser window): https://docs.google.com/document/d/12eb_SRtk1AzaBl87UltcLJ24MjH9UhQm_LE77iWZEQA/edit?tab=t.0 Desiderata Rescue is Oklahoma Licensed Rescue #95

Story
Jazzy is the kind of dog who brings energy and happiness into your life—without overwhelming it. She’s playful, friendly, and fun, but also has an independent side that makes her easy to live with. Her past isn’t pretty—but you’d never know it. Jazzy is social and confident, great with dogs of all sizes and cats, and naturally fits into whatever environment she’s in. She’ll happily join in on playtime, go on walks, or even randomly take a dip in the pond—then settle down like it’s no big deal. She’s affectionate without being clingy and has that ideal balance people are always looking for but rarely find. Good fit: someone who wants a fun, social dog that adds energy and joy to daily life without being overwhelming or demanding. Adoption process: All adoptions are completed prior to transport. Dogs are picked up at designated transport locations. If an adoption doesn’t work out (rare, but life happens), we always take our dogs back. Location: Oklahoma (available to approved out-of-state adopters via transport) Health: Fully vetted (spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested) Adoption fee: $500 (includes transport + vetting) Bonus: Each adoption includes a 30-minute phone consultation with a professional trainer Transport routes: WA, OR, ID, MT, UT, WY, CO, MN, WI, IA, IL, IN, OH, PA, MD, NY, NJ, VT Think you might be a good fit? ** CURRENTLY IN A LOVING FOSTER HOME, PLEASE SUBMIT AN ADOPTION APPLICATION IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN MEETING ME!! ** 💛🐾 MEET ARI 🐾💛 Sweet Ari… a dog who has already overcome so much, and one of the most deeply loving souls you will ever meet. When Ari first arrived, she was absolutely terrified. You couldn’t approach her, you couldn’t sit near her, the world felt too big, too scary, too unknown. But with patience, kindness, and time… everything changed. Within just a few weeks, this same scared girl was sleeping in bed, soaking up belly rubs, and learning what it truly means to feel safe and loved. 🌿 HER BEAUTIFUL TRANSFORMATION Ari is naturally a shy, sensitive dog, but when she feels secure, her personality blooms. 💛 Playful with her dog friends 💛 Loves running freely in the yard 💛 Adores walks and outdoor adventures 💛 A total cuddle bug when it’s time to relax She has discovered joy. She has discovered comfort. And most importantly… she has discovered trust. 🐾 WHAT ARI NEEDS TO THRIVE Ari’s next home must be one that understands her heart. ✔️ A securely fenced yard is REQUIRED for her safety and confidence ✔️ Another playful, confident dog is REQUIRED, she truly blossoms with a canine companion ✔️ A quiet, low-traffic home ✔️ No children ✔️ An experienced adopter who understands fearful or shy dogs Ari bonds deeply, but she needs the space to do it on her terms. She cannot be rushed or forced, and in return, she will give you a level of loyalty that is incredibly special. 💭 A FEW THINGS TO KNOW • Fully house trained. • Does not require a crate. • Learning to enjoy car rides, will need continued positive exposure. • Not a fan of baths or nail trims (who is, honestly?). • Has allergies that are well managed with Apoquel. She may initially feel more comfortable with women, but with patience, she has shown she can build trust with men too. 💖 HER PERFECT MATCH Ari is looking for someone who understands that healing isn’t linear, and that the most meaningful bonds take time. Someone who will: • Let her come to them • Celebrate her small wins • Give her consistency, safety, and love In return? You’ll get a loyal shadow, a snuggle partner, and a dog who will choose you, fully and forever. 🌅 THE LIFE SHE DESERVES Ari deserves slow mornings, sunny afternoons in the yard, playful moments with her dog friend, and peaceful nights curled up beside her person. She’s not just looking for a home. She’s looking for her safe place. 📩 Apply to adopt Ari and be the one who gives her the second chance she’s waited for. Requirements: 1. Fenced in yard! 2. Another dog!
