Story
DiDi was born on June 25 2022. We adopted him when he was 8 weeks old. DiDi is our 2nd border collie after we lost our first one to a car accident after 8 months of owning him. DiDi means “little brother” in Chinese. Technically DiDi is the first dog that we got a chance to understand Border Collie as a breed. He is very smart and super energetic. He wants to play all the time. He is very friendly with strangers, likes to be petted, but he is not a companion. He doesn’t misbehave, doesn’t bark most of the time, never bites, but he is not a companion. We have tried to build a bond with him. But unfortunately we are not the right fit for his personality. The only time he would come to us is when he wants to play. As soon as he senses we are done playing, he would walk away and stay by himself. He has his own mind and determined. We don’t feel we are wanted by him except when he wants to play. He is a good dog, but we are not good enough for him.

Story
Alder is an extremely sweet, quiet, shy boy. He is the dog version of an introvert. He is gentle and sticks to himself and is great with other dogs of all sizes and with cats. He doesn't engage much with them thought as he prefers to do his own thing. He has to be the most low maintenance and chill dog I've ever had in the rescue out of hundreds of dogs. He is hesitant with people he doesn't know but never aggressive. Not an ounce of aggression. He was listed as a pit bull mix at the shelter when he was smaller and still a younger puppy but now that he is an older puppy (about a year) it's obvious that he is not a pittie but looks more like a border collie. He is currently still in Oklahoma where he was rescued but he can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. He has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport at one of our transport drop off locations below. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, we will either find a local foster to take him in or he will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. Randomly goes for a swim in the pond. Affectionate but also independent. Currently about 30 lbs. Someone will be very lucky to bring her into their family. She is currently still in Oklahoma where she was rescued but she can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. Maybelline has lived outside her whole life, so she’s looking for a home that’ll be patient with her while she learns the ropes of indoor living. Right now, her foster mom says she’s acclimating so fast! Maybelline is a very happy go lucky girl. She loves to snuggle up on the couch and hold you hostage. She likes to eat ALL the food you have to offer her–even if it’s a bite of your burger, she doesn’t mind. She will hog the bed, act as a heating pad on the couch, follow you like a shadow, accompany you on any adventure that awaits and will do so without complaints. Maybelline is the picture of a loyal companion. She’s quirky, but who doesn’t love a quirky girl? Her smile comes off as more of a smirk and we giggle every time it comes out. Her eyes are SO expressive. Her whole body will wiggle with joy the second she sees you or hears your voice. She’s such a happy dog. Her nub tail goes a million miles a minute the higher your voice goes. Maybelline enjoys treats, especially if it’s lunch meat. Specifically, turkey. She’s a little on the picky side with dog food, but she’s just watching her figure! Because she’s snack motivated, training with her will be extra fun! She is great on leash and enjoys nature walks. She’s not a fast-paced girl but hikes could also be her thing! A trip down to the lake could also prove to be a blast! Maybelline is great in the kennel for just learning what one is. Say hello to Marley! Marley is a sensitive herding-breed dog who is looking for a calm, patient home where he can feel safe and build confidence. He has a history of fear and anxiety, but his foster parent reports that he is very snuggly and fun-loving once someone has earned his trust! Marley is not a good fit for homes with children under 5, and any children under 17 must meet him prior to adoption. Marley must meet any resident dogs and may prefer to be the only dog in the home. He has no known history with cats, so careful introductions would be needed. Marley will do best with an experienced and understanding adopter who can provide exercise, structure, consistency, and positive reinforcement.
