Story
Meet Murphy, our adorable little Border Collie Mix boy puppy who was rescued from a small town shelter where he was under weight and riddled with internal parasites.  His future was very bleak but now Murphy has been treated and is a healthy, happy little guy free of parasites and gaining weight like a puppy should.  Born around November 1st, he is approximately 10 weeks old (as of Jan 5th) and weighs 12 pounds.  He is expected to reach around 40 pounds as an adult.  He is friendly with all humans (toddlers included), dogs and cats that he has been in contact with.  Murphy is curious, playful and very loveable and is quite the talker.  Murphy seems to be the most curious of his siblings.  His foster mom believes he is mixed with many different breeds that are smart and inquisitive.  If you are interested please email us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.April 18, 2024, 7:05 pm

Story
Meet Shirley! This beauty was brought in as a stray and no one claimed her. It really doesn't get much better than Shirley. She is sweet as sugar and extremely cute. Shirley is slightly shy when first meeting new people, but she quickly shows her excitement with vigorous tail wags. Then it is time for belly rubs. Shirley will take any chance she can to turn over and get belly rubs. If you have time for those, she is your new best friend. Shirley walks well on a leash and is good with other dogs. We believe Shirley would be an amazing companion for anyone. Shirley is estimated at 1.5 years old and weighs 35 lbs.   If you are interested in adopting Shirley, please submit an inquiry directly with Greater Charlotte SPCA by visiting charlottespca.org/adopt. ***Because our rescue is composed entirely of volunteers, local applications will take precedence. We will accept out of town applications, but any family is responsible for coming to Charlotte to complete a meet and greet. All out of town applicants will also have to be willing to drive to Charlotte to meet/pick up the pet as soon as they are approved to adopt.*** April 18, 2024, 7:06 pm

Story
We got Savannah from the local Humane Society in May 2023. Beautiful, timid, protective. She is slow to warm up to new people. She needs a gentle patient human who can take the time to develop a bond. She is NOT the type who instantly trusts and loves everyone she sees. Warms up faster indoors. Savannah is 65 lb. I estimate 2-3 years old. I think she is at or near her full size, but she still has the puppy-clumsy-paws. When she sleeps on my bed she rolls off in the night--hilarious, but also startling. Sadly, one of my other dogs started biting Savannah. Savannah eventually retaliated. I think Savannah would do well in home with or without other dogs, just not this one dog. I can give much more detail about this. She has been a very rewarding addition to our family. And I wish we could keep her ourselves. We got her to protect sheep. She barks well. But she is afraid of the sheep. w/ cats - curious and timid, not yet aggressive. w/ kids - gentle, tho clumsy.

These pups are in Gastonia, North Carolina too!

Story
.These two little sisters were found by the side of the road and rescued by a kind couple. They are about 5 months old and weigh 30 lbs each. Taylor has a white face; Kelsey a black face. They are very friendly and affectionate, playful and energetic. They ride well in the car. They have been taken to restaurants and react very positively when people come up to exclaim about how beautiful they are. They get along fine with other dogs and love people. They met a cat and were curious, but not hostile. They have had their first shots and have an appointment to be spayed. Contact Nancy Foltz at NEFoltz@Yahoo.com or 704-616-4904 for more information.
