Atticus needs a job to do! Atticus is a 10-12 month old Border Collie. He has endless energy and needs an active adopter or a yard to run around in. He chases cats, he mounts everything and everyone, and he is ready to take the world by storm. He would make a great farm dog or running partner. It would be a huge plus if his adopter had Border Collie or herding dog experience, but as long as you’re willing to learn how to meet his needs, that works for us! Atticus is currently in a foster home, so if you’d like to meet this young man, please let us know so we can coordinate with his foster family!

Jude is a 40 lb 1 yr old Border Collie mix.  His energy on a scale of 1-10 is 15.  He can jump 4 ft in the air without issue and scale a 5 foot barrier without flinching. Jude would likely make a great agility dog for someone.  He will NEED a significant amount of exercise daily and anyone that has interest will also need to continue basic obedience with him.  He already knows some commands.  He is a candidate for our prison training program once he heals up from his neuter surgery. Jude is neutered, vaccinated, heartworm negative, wormed, and microchipped. Anyone with interest can stop at the shelter to meet him and complete an application to be considered. Meet Zoe!We are proud of this girl! She was pulled from a shelter just 6 weeks ago and had no idea how to live indoors. She is now house trained and is doing great with her indoor manners. Shes also been a very good girl with the cats (other than some over enthusiastic kisses). In the last 6 weeks she has learned come, sit, lie down, go to your mat, get in your crate, and shake!! Stay is quite a bit harder, and she doesnt like being left in her crate - but shes made so much progress! Zoe loves her foster brother, playing in the yard, rolling in the grass and car rides!Zoe is 50 pounds and we suggest a home with older kids. She is fully vetted now and eager to find a home of her own.Apply to meet Zoe at ricopetrecovery.org. Adoption fee is $250

THIS GUY! Wow! He has come a LONG away since he's been in our care. He was scheduled for euthanasia simply because they were out of room. He and his brother Happy. So a Good Samaritan pulled them both and spared them from certain death. They have been amazing, becoming very social because they have been attending doggy daycare everyday and receiving hands in one on one professional training! Captain is approx 7-8 months old. He's shy at first around new things but warms up quickly. He is kennel trained and house trained and it goes without saying he's dog friendly since he attends doggy daycare! He's super easy to get along with just needs a patient family because he is a bit shy at first around new things. He's with Kip and Michele in their home in Memphis, Tn. Once an application has been submitted and approved Kip, who has been working with Captain one on one for several months, will speak to you and tell you all about him.
