*IF THIS LISTING IS STILL POSTED THIS DOG IS STILL AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION. NO NEED TO EMAIL ASKING IF THE DOG IS AVAILABLE. PLEASE READ THROUGH THIS BIO THOROUGHLY AS INFORMATION ON HOW TO APPLY IS CONTAINED IN THIS LISTING** For Adoption: Vienna! Please read our dog bios carefully to be sure that the dog you are applying for suits your family and lifestyle. We at PDR believe in the benefits of post-adoption training for our dogs and their families. This allows for continued socialization, learning and helps to create a well-mannered and balanced dog. Post-adoption training is a requirement in our adoption process. To apply for adoption and for more information on our process and requirements, visit our website at https://pounddog.ca/adoption-info/. Vienna (VieVie, VV) is an 2 mth old, 9 lb female Border Collie/Labrador Retriever cross with a soft, fluffy black and white puppy coat, an expressive brown eye, and adorable floppy ears that perfectly match her curious personality. She has dainty white markings on her chest and paws that make her even more irresistible. Sweet, intelligent, and always eager to make new friends, Vienna is a happy little puppy who approaches life with confidence and curiosity. Her name was chosen after the Billy Joel song. It urges listeners to stop rushing through life, prioritize what brings true fulfillment over the relentless pursuit of success. Vienna will truly enrich your life and bring focus to the little enjoyments of life. Viennas right eye is underdeveloped and she doesnt have vision in it. Her left eye is properly developed. She has no negative effects from her right eye and requires no medication at this time. It is not painful and she gets along just fine with one functioning eye. You would never know that she has vision issues. Like many young puppies, Vienna came into rescue at the beginning of her life, giving her the opportunity to find a loving forever family. As she grows, shell need continued socialization, positive training, and plenty of patience to help her become a confident, well-rounded adult. With consistency and love, she has all the potential to become an amazing companion. Vienna would thrive in almost any home that is ready for the commitment of raising a young puppy. A single-family home with a fenced yard would be most ideal to help with her activity levels. But many other homes with the right access to outdoor play, would be ok. Whether its an active family, a couple, or an individual, shell do best with people who have the time to continue her training, provide daily exercise, and include her in family activities. She is friendly, affectionate, and loves being around people. Like any puppy, she may bark occasionally during play or when she wants attention but is not considered an excessive barker. As a Border Collie/Lab mix, shell grow into an active dog who will enjoy multiple daily long walks, playtime, and enrichment activities. Shes just beginning to learn leash manners and will benefit from positive reinforcement as she grows. One of Viennas most endearing qualities is her joyful outlook on life. She loves to explore, cuddle after playtime, and happily greets everyone she meets with a wagging tail. Her short to medium-length coat is easy to care for with regular brushing to keep her looking her best. She will not need to attend a groomer for her coat management and does well having her nails trimmed at home. She is just beginning her house training journey and is learning a consistent routine with frequent potty breaks (about every hour and immediately following meals and crate time) and praise for success. She will bark or fuss to let you know she needs to go and has only had an accident when the humans miss her cue. Vienna is also learning that her crate is a safe, comfortable place to relax. She settles well with a cozy blanket and toy, sleeps in her crate through the night and is comfortable eating meals there. Crate training is helping her develop good routines and confidence. She also has experience with car rides and is adjusting well and continues to gain confidence with each trip. Vienna enjoys the company of other friendly dogs and would likely do well living with a male canine companion who can continue to teach her appropriate dog manners. She will not be suited for a home with a female dog. With proper introductions, she is also expected to do well in a home with dog-savvy cats, especially given her young age. On walks, she is naturally curious about other dogs, birds, squirrels, and new sights but is easily redirected as she continues learning about the world. Because she is still a young puppy, Vienna would do well with respectful children who understand how to interact gently with puppies. Children ages 8 and up will be appropriate for her. As with any puppy, all interactions between young children and dogs should be supervised to ensure positive experiences for everyone. She is a herding breed and will nip when excited but is easily redirected. At her young age, Vienna is just beginning to learn the foundations of good manners. She is working on responding to her name, coming when called, and simple cues like sit. She is eager to learn, food motivated, and expected to excel with positive reinforcement training. Puppy classes are mandatory and will provide valuable socialization while helping build confidence and strengthen the bond with her new family. Vienna has received age-appropriate veterinary care, including her initial vaccinations, deworming, and wellness examination. She will require additional puppy vaccine boosters as she grows and will need to be spayed when she reaches the appropriate age, as directed by her veterinarian or adoption agreement. She has handled her veterinary visits well and has no known health concerns at this time other than an under-developed eye that has not slowed her down at all. Anyone interested in Vienna needs to live within one hour of Cambridge, Ont as she must be returned to our vet at six months of age to be spayed. She will be adopted out on a contract that stipulates this, and it is mandatory. This is covered in the adoption fee. If youre looking for a loving, intelligent, and playful puppy to grow alongside your family, Vienna could be the perfect match. She is searching for a forever home committed to continuing her training, providing plenty of exercise and enrichment, and showering her with love as she matures. In return, shell reward you with endless affection, laughter, and loyal companionship. If youre ready for all the fun and adventure that comes with raising a puppy, Vienna cant wait to meet you! Story
George is a two-year-old male, roughly 45 pounds. He is a cross of some kind, perhaps between a border collie and some sort of hound? He is dignified, polite, intelligent, good-natured, loves to run and play and have his belly rubbed: he shows affection quietly, by coming and placing his head against you. He is neutered, microchipped and house-trained. He is very good with people, and generally with other dogs, at least off-leash. He can panic, however, on-leash, if he gets in close quarters with another dog. We think he must have broken his left hind foot at some point in the past: it has healed, and he can run very fast on it, but occasionally favours it, and has begun to develop arthritis. He currently lives with 2 dogs.  His foster home is in  midtown Toronto.  Due to time constraints, we cannot respond to every email asking for more information on a dog. Please carefully review the bio for the dog and our adoption process https://www.speakingofdogs.com/adoption/adoption-process/.  If you are still interested in adopting, please fill out the adoption application form at the bottom of that page.July 8, 2026, 11:00 pm

Story
Oreo is a 3-year-old male Border Collie/Jindo mix who was rescued from a shelter just before he was scheduled for euthanasia. Sadly, and for unknown reasons, before finding himself abandoned and alone at the shelter, his teeth had been deliberately ground down. Amazingly and despite this, he remains a lively, energetic, and otherwise healthy dog who is remarkably intelligent, craves human interaction, and is very loyal to his guardian. Oreo has the exceptional intelligence typical of Border Collies, fully understanding various commands such as "sit," "wait," and "house." He is also deeply loyal to his guardian and has a strong capacity for forming deep bonds typical of the Jindo breed. He is truly a remarkable dog who has the capacity to grow into an even more amazing companion through continued obedience training and by establishing a trusting relationship with his guardian. Oreo is incredibly affectionate and loves people. He is also very social and gets along well with other dogs. However, he has a habit of jumping when excited, which requires caution when a person is interacting with him in a low position. With consistent training, this behavior can be corrected. Being highly energetic, Oreo possesses excellent jumping ability. At the training center, he has been known to leap over fences—not out of a desire to escape, but due to his curiosity and strong attachment to his guardian. In fact, he has demonstrated behavior where he jumps over a fence when he hears his guardian's voice outside, only to return shortly after. For this reason, families with yards should ensure proper supervision, and a high-fenced environment may be more suitable. The Ideal Family for Oreo is: ✔️ Someone who understands the high intelligence and energy levels of Border Collies, the exceptional loyalty of Jindos, and can provide sufficient mental and physical stimulation ✔️ Someone with experience in training or handling large dogs ✔️ Someone who values bonding with their dog and is ready to build a deep connection ✔️ Someone who can provide ample space for Oreo to move and exercise freely Despite his heartbreaking past, Oreo still loves people and finds his greatest happiness in being with his guardian. With so much intelligence and energy, he has limitless potential to become the perfect lifelong companion if he meets the right family, one that understands him and is ready to provide him with love, care, and proper training. Oreo is waiting for his new family! ❤️

Story
Meet Hazel   A Gentle Border Collie Looking for Her Forever Family   Hazel is a sweet, affectionate 2-year-old Border Collie with a calm personality and a heart full of love. She may not have had the easiest start in life, but she’s ready to leave her past behind and find a family to call her own.   Name: Hazel Age: 2 years Breed: Border Collie Sex: Spayed Female Weight: 20 kg (44 lbs) Height: 46 cm (18 in) at the shoulder Color: Black & White   Rescue Story Hazel is Aesop’s mother. She was found at a highway rest stop and brought to a municipal shelter in February, where it was discovered that she was pregnant. She gave birth to Aesop at the shelter, and today her puppy has safely joined her forever family in Vancouver to begin her new life. Now it’s Hazel’s turn to find the loving family she deserves.   Personality   Hazel is incredibly affectionate and people-oriented. She happily approaches both familiar faces and strangers, enjoys being petted, and loves the company of both men and women.   She can easily be picked up by placing an arm under her belly—but instead of being lifted, she’ll often dramatically flop onto her back for belly rubs! Even people she has just met are greeted with a trusting belly-up welcome.   With Other Dogs   Hazel is polite when meeting new dogs and enjoys saying hello, but she doesn’t have much interest in playing with them. She much prefers spending time with people.   If another dog bothers her while she’s relaxing, she’ll let them know she’d rather be left alone by shooing them away. However, she has no aggression and does not start fights. She’s simply an independent, peaceful girl.   Cats   She may curiously watch cats during walks, but she easily follows her handler without reacting. A formal cat test can be arranged if needed.   Energy Level   Hazel has a low energy level and is happiest lounging nearby and relaxing with her family. She absolutely enjoys going for walks, making her an ideal companion for someone looking for a calm dog who still appreciates daily outdoor adventures.   Walking   Hazel has a mild leash pull but is easy to handle. Like many dogs, she enjoys stopping to sniff and explore her surroundings.   More About Hazel   No food guarding toward people or other dogs Rarely barks Calm and quiet in a crate Mostly potty trained for outdoor elimination   Hazel is a gentle, easygoing girl who asks for very little—just kindness, love, and a soft place to rest. After raising her puppy, it’s finally her time to be someone’s beloved companion. Could that family be yours? QUICK FACTS Name: Hachi Age: About 6 Years Old Gender: Male (Neutered) Breed: Border Collie – Australian Shepherd Mix Color: White and Brown Weight: 22kg / 48.5lbs Microchipped, Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed   MY RESCUE STORY I was in a place where dogs were bred without care or kindness. The world around me was small, and life was more about getting through each day than enjoying it. Then one day, everything changed. I was rescued from an illegal breeding facility and given the chance to leave that life behind. Since then, I've been discovering things that once felt unfamiliar—gentle hands, comfortable places to rest, and people who care about how I feel. With each passing day, I grow a little more confident, a little more curious, and a lot more ready to share my sweet side with the world.   MY HEALTH All vaccinations up-to-date Neutered & healthy with no known health issues   MY PERSONALITY I’m the kind of dog who likes to keep an eye on everything around me. With my bright mind and calm nature, I tend to take in a situation before deciding what to do. People often notice my striking looks first, but it doesn’t take long for them to discover that I’m just as sweet as I am handsome. I genuinely enjoy being around people and love spending time with my humans. I’m gentle, affectionate, and easy to befriend. Since I’m a smart boy who enjoys treats, I pick up on routines and training quickly. I already know some basic commands, and learning new things together sounds like a pretty fun way to spend time. Life feels best when I’m near my people, whether we’re out exploring or simply enjoying a quiet day together. I’m the kind of companion who brings both intelligence and warmth wherever I go.   MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I can be a little shy when meeting someone for the first time, but a tasty treat is usually all it takes for me to warm up and start feeling comfortable. Once I get to know you, I’m happy to accept gentle pets and enjoy your company. I’m comfortable being picked up with support under my belly, and while I haven’t had the opportunity to meet children under 13 yet, I continue to gain confidence through new experiences. · With Dogs: When I meet a new dog, I’m usually happy to approach and exchange a polite greeting before moving on. I tend to be fairly independent and don’t show much interest in playing or spending time with other dogs. While I’m generally calm around dog companions, I may respond if another dog is overly pushy or confrontational, so thoughtful introductions with unfamiliar dogs would be recommended. · With Cats: My reaction to cats is unknown   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I have moderate energy level – I enjoy getting outside for walks and adventures, but I’m not a dog who needs constant activity to be happy. Once I’ve had a chance to explore and stretch my legs, I’m usually content to relax and enjoy some quiet time. I’m a pleasant walking companion who has plenty of leash experience, follows my person well, and walks without much pulling.   TRAINING & HABITS I’m comfortable sharing food with people and don’t mind having them around while I eat. Around other dogs, though, I prefer a little personal space at mealtime and may let them know if they come too close. I can be a bit vocal when I’m hoping for something I want I settle nicely in a kennel I have good house habits, using both indoor pads and going outside for bathroom breaks. I may be tempted to do a little marking when I arrive somewhere new and unfamiliar. With a consistent routine and guidance, I usually settle in and adjust to my surroundings as I become more comfortable.   MY IDEAL HOME I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with: A family that will provide me with a safe haven – where I can decompress, be myself in a stable environment A family that understands my past and is patient with me throughout A family that enjoys indoor and outdoor time together A family that will love and cherish me forever   SPECIAL NOTES    HACHI'S YOUTUBE PLAYLIST   Apply to foster or adopt: https://www.welcomedogkorea.org For Inquiries: info@welcomedogkorea.co ##2755801##

Story
Meet Tracker — part Heeler, part goofball, part amateur detective, and 100% ready to find his people. When Tracker first arrived, he acted like someone had accidentally dropped him into the wrong movie. He was timid, shaky, and clearly unsure about this whole “meeting new humans” situation. But after some time to decompress, the real Tracker has started making an appearance — and spoiler alert: he’s pretty great. These days, Tracker happily walks up to staff members on his own for attention and pets, proving that underneath that nervous beginning was just a sweet young dog waiting for the world to feel a little safer. Watching his confidence grow has honestly been one of our favourite glow-ups. True to his name, Tracker is very serious about investigating every blade of grass, leaf, squirrel rumour, and mysterious sidewalk smell on walks. Sniffing is his passion. Is he solving crimes? Mapping secret treasure routes? Conducting important neighbourhood business? We may never know. He’s a medium-energy boy who enjoys getting out and exploring, and as a young Heeler cross, he’ll need both physical exercise and mental stimulation to keep his clever brain happy. Puzzle toys, adventures, training sessions, and sniff-heavy walks will all be right up his alley. During his dog assessment, Tracker was playful and polite with a much larger intact male dog, and we believe he could happily live with another playful canine companion if introductions are done properly. We also feel he could do well with dog-savvy children who understand that sometimes a young dog needs a little patience while building confidence. Now, fair warning: Tracker currently believes leash walking is a full upper-body workout for his humans. He can be strong on leash, but with obedience training and positive reinforcement, he should improve quickly. In fact, we strongly recommend enrolling him in training right away — not only to help polish his manners, but because smart dogs like Tracker absolutely thrive when given structure and learning opportunities. At the end of the day, Tracker is a sweet, sensitive young dog who just needed a little time for his personality to shine. Now that it has, he’s ready to find a home where he can continue building confidence, making friends, and living his very best adventure-dog life. Please complete an adoption application: Animal adoptions and viewing are by appointment only. This allows our Adoption Staff to spend quality time with each potential home to ensure the most successful matches are made between the animals and their new families. https://www.hamilton.ca/home-neighbourhood/animals-pets/adopt-or-foster-pet/adoptions *Please note: we only adopt within Ontario

💙🐾 MARCO: 100% Blue Heeler, 200% Heartthrob 🐾💙 📍Fostered in Southern Ontario Ladies and gentlemen, dogs and squirrels… meet MARCO! Marco is a 1-year-old purebred Australian Cattle Dog (Blue Heeler) weighing in at a perfect 25–30 lbs of handsome. He was born with a bilateral cleft lip, which basically means he looks extra unique and ridiculously cute. Don’t worry—he eats, drinks, plays, and steals hearts completely normally. The only special treatment he requires is a little extra tooth-brushing in that area. That’s it! ✨ Features include: ✔️ Softest cuddle buddy mode ✔️ Professional couch snuggler ✔️ Excellent passenger prince during car rides ✔️ Knows “sit,” “stay,” and “bedtime” ✔️ Crate-trained and sleeps like an angel ✔️ Dog-friendly and ready to make friends ✔️ Premium zoomies package included Marco can be a little shy when meeting new people or exploring new places. Think of him as an introvert who just needs a minute before becoming your new best friend. Once he trusts you, prepare for a lifetime supply of love, cuddles, and loyal companionship. 🐶 Other dogs? LOVE THEM. 🌳 Outdoors? OBSESSED. 🎾 Fetch? YES PLEASE. 🚪 Potty breaks? He’ll let you know by heading to the door like the smart boy he is. He may do a little nervous pee when meeting new people (honestly, some of us can relate), but he’s making great progress every day. A fenced yard would be Marco’s version of winning the lottery—a safe place for zoomies, fetch sessions, and important squirrel surveillance duties. 💛 Marco doesn’t know he’s different. He only knows that he wants someone to love, trust, and cuddle forever. If you’re looking for a dog who’s equal parts adorable, sweet, goofy, and loyal, Marco is ready to move into your heart (and probably your spot on the couch). Apply to adopt Marco today—you’ll wonder how you ever lived without that smile. 🩵🐾
