Story
Oreo is a 3-year-old male Border Collie/Jindo mix who was rescued from a shelter just before he was scheduled for euthanasia. Sadly, and for unknown reasons, before finding himself abandoned and alone at the shelter, his teeth had been deliberately ground down. Amazingly and despite this, he remains a lively, energetic, and otherwise healthy dog who is remarkably intelligent, craves human interaction, and is very loyal to his guardian. Oreo has the exceptional intelligence typical of Border Collies, fully understanding various commands such as "sit," "wait," and "house." He is also deeply loyal to his guardian and has a strong capacity for forming deep bonds typical of the Jindo breed. He is truly a remarkable dog who has the capacity to grow into an even more amazing companion through continued obedience training and by establishing a trusting relationship with his guardian. Oreo is incredibly affectionate and loves people. He is also very social and gets along well with other dogs. However, he has a habit of jumping when excited, which requires caution when a person is interacting with him in a low position. With consistent training, this behavior can be corrected. Being highly energetic, Oreo possesses excellent jumping ability. At the training center, he has been known to leap over fences—not out of a desire to escape, but due to his curiosity and strong attachment to his guardian. In fact, he has demonstrated behavior where he jumps over a fence when he hears his guardian's voice outside, only to return shortly after. For this reason, families with yards should ensure proper supervision, and a high-fenced environment may be more suitable. The Ideal Family for Oreo is: ✔️ Someone who understands the high intelligence and energy levels of Border Collies, the exceptional loyalty of Jindos, and can provide sufficient mental and physical stimulation ✔️ Someone with experience in training or handling large dogs ✔️ Someone who values bonding with their dog and is ready to build a deep connection ✔️ Someone who can provide ample space for Oreo to move and exercise freely Despite his heartbreaking past, Oreo still loves people and finds his greatest happiness in being with his guardian. With so much intelligence and energy, he has limitless potential to become the perfect lifelong companion if he meets the right family, one that understands him and is ready to provide him with love, care, and proper training. Oreo is waiting for his new family! ❤️

Story
Meet Aesop – A Tiny Survivor with a Big Personality   Approximately 3 Months Old Female (Not yet) Border Collie Mix 5.5kg | 33cm shoulder height   Aesop’s story began in a shelter after her Border Collie mother was brought in while pregnant in February. Sadly, out of three puppies born at the shelter, only one survived — little Aesop. Despite such a difficult beginning, she has grown into a bright, affectionate, and confident puppy full of life and love.   ‍‍ Social with People Aesop is an incredibly social and people-loving puppy. She happily approaches both familiar people and strangers, enjoys affection from everyone, and easily allows handling. She loves both men and women, enjoys being picked up, and will even roll over to show her belly to people she has just met.   Social with Other Dogs She is equally friendly with other dogs and loves to greet and play with everyone she meets. Even large dogs don’t intimidate her — she confidently bounces right in to play! She may act fearless with other dogs, but when playing with her mom, she quickly rolls over belly-up like the sweetest little daughter.   Cats Her reaction to cats has not yet been observed, but cat testing can be arranged.   Energy Level Aesop has a typical puppy energy level. She enjoys running around and playing, but also sleeps a lot and settles down nicely after activity.   Walks She has not yet had formal walks outdoors due to her young age.   Other Notes No food guarding toward people or other dogs Calm and quiet inside a kennel/crate Currently uses both pee pads indoors and pottys outdoors   She does show some mild separation anxiety at first and may bark when initially left alone, though she typically begins adjusting after a few days. Continued training and gradual independence practice will help her build confidence.   Like many smart puppies, Aesop can also be a little vocal when she wants something!   Aesop is looking for a loving family ready to guide a smart, social, and affectionate puppy through all the adventures of growing up. With her confidence, sweetness, and resilient spirit, she is sure to become an amazing lifelong companion. Story
Meet Hanni   • Name: Hanni • Age: 2 years • Sex: Spayed Female • Breed: Border Collie Mix • Color: Black & White • Weight: 13 kg • Height (shoulder): 45 cm   Rescue Story In February 2025, Hanni and another dog were abandoned at a slaughterhouse by their owner. After the facility shut down, they were transferred to a municipal shelter. Hanni was rescued in March 2025 and has been preparing for her forever home ever since.   ‍‍ Social with People Hanni is incredibly affectionate and people-oriented. She happily approaches both familiar faces and strangers, leaning in for pets and attention without hesitation. She enjoys being held, shows her belly once comfortable, and loves physical affection.   She has been gentle with children around 13 years old, though she has not been tested with infants or toddlers.   In unfamiliar environments such as the vet, she may become nervous and resist handling—especially around sensitive areas like her hindquarters. However, in her foster home, she does very well with grooming, baths, nail trims, and daily care routines.   She loves interactive play with people, including tug and fetch, and truly thrives on human companionship.   Social with Other Dogs Hanni is curious and interested in other dogs, often wanting to approach and greet them during walks. She is currently learning to wait and practice better leash manners.   Because she can be a bit forward, she may come across as overly enthusiastic or “rude” to some dogs. She can be pushy with smaller dogs, so supervision is important. With larger dogs, she tends to be more respectful.   Once comfortable in an open environment, she plays well and currently coexists nicely with her foster dog. However, if provoked, she may engage in conflict, so careful introductions to new dogs are recommended.   With Cats Hanni shows curiosity toward cats during walks but follows her handler well when redirected. She may try to chase birds.   Energy Level As a Border Collie mix, Hanni has a higher-than-average energy level. She benefits greatly from regular outdoor exercise and mental stimulation such as training, games, or enrichment activities.   ‍ Walking & Exercise Hanni is currently working on loose-leash walking. She tends to pull, especially when excited or when she sees other dogs. She enjoys running more than slow walks and may vocalize (bark or make sounds) when excited.   Other Behaviors • No food guarding toward people or dogs • Eats well with no picky habits • Crate trained (eats and rests comfortably in crate) • Travels well, including long car rides • Rarely barks, but may bark when playing or seeking attention • Does not bark at visitors   Training Hanni knows: Sit Down Stay Paw Speak House (crate command)   She is smart, eager to engage, and will thrive with continued training and structure.   Ideal Home Hanni would do best with an active adopter who can match her energy and provide both physical exercise and mental stimulation. She will make a loving, fun, and devoted companion for someone ready to engage with her bright and energetic personality.   Hanni is full of love, energy, and potential—she just needs the right person to share her life with. ** Choice is currently in Korea but she will be arriving in Vancouver on Jaune 8 once adopted. For more info about the dog or the adoption application, please click here.BackgroundDuring the hot summer of 2024, Choice was rescued from a situation of neglect. She had been tied to a pole and left under the intense sun with no shade, food, or water at a local factory in Paju, Korea. She was kept as a guard dog for a factory building, but sadly received no proper care. It took time and effort to convince the owner to surrender her, but eventually they agreed, and Choice was finally rescued. After her rescue, she spent over a year in a local shelter, waiting patiently for a family of her own. As a mixed breed dog, she unfortunately did not receive many adoption opportunities. She was later moved to our partner boarding house where she lived with other dogs. Her sister has already found her forever home in Victoria, Canada, and now it is time for Choice to find hers.Personality and SocializationChoice has a wonderful temperament. She is social, gentle, and easygoing, with a balanced medium energy level. She gets along well with other dogs, especially those who are friendly and polite. If another dog is too pushy or dominant, she will calmly walk away rather than engage in conflict. She is naturally submissive, peaceful, and very loving. With people, Choice is gentle, sweet, and affectionate. She warms up quickly and is not shy about showing her trust, often rolling over to show her belly. Even with men or new strangers, it does not take her long to feel comfortable and friendly.BehaviourChoice is an intelligent and adaptable girl who learns new routines quickly. She has been very easy to handle in daily life. She becomes a bit nervous in the car, but is comfortable with vet visits, baths, and grooming, and allows her caregivers to handle her without resistance. She walks nicely on a leash and enjoys her walks, but will get a bit nervous in a new environment. She has not shown signs of separation anxiety and is generally quiet and well behaved. She is truly a lovely and easy companion.Health and DietChoice is spayed, vaccinated, dewormed, and kept up to date with monthly parasite prevention. She eats dry kibble twice a day and has shown no signs of food related allergies. She is healthy and ready for her foreve home.Ideal HomeChoice would be a wonderful fit for many types of homes, including first time dog guardians. We are hoping for a family who will not leave her alone for long hours and who enjoys spending time with their dog. She is already a loving, social, and well balanced companion. Truly, anyone who adopts Choice will be very lucky to have her in their life.** Choice is currently in Korea but she will be arriving in Vancouver on Jaune 8 once adopted. For more info about the dog or the adoption application, please click here.

Story
Hi, I’m Misty 💛 I’m a 3-year-old girl, a Border Collie–Samoyed mix, and I weigh about 17kg. People often notice my soft, fluffy coat first… but my favorite little charm? One of my ears folds slightly—it’s my special signature look 😊 I was rescued from a shelter where my time was almost up, but you wouldn’t know it if you met me. I’m bright, happy, and full of love. I really love people. Even if we’ve just met, I’ll come right up to you like we’ve known each other forever. I love attention, I love affection, and I love sharing little moments together. I’m also great with other dogs! I get along well with my furry friends and don’t like conflict—I’d much rather play and enjoy good company. If you like going on walks or playing together, I’ll be so happy. And after we’ve had our fun? I’m just as happy to rest quietly by your side. I have a nice balance of energy—I can be active, but I also know how to relax at home. I’m still learning what it means to live in a home. Things like potty habits and house rules might be new to me, but I’m a smart girl (that Border Collie side of me helps!), and I learn quickly when someone is patient and consistent with me. I don’t need perfection. I don’t need everything to be ready from the start. I just need someone who will understand me, teach me gently, and stay by my side as I learn. Because I’m already ready to love you. All I’m waiting for… is a family who will love me back, and give me a place to finally belong. Will you be family? 💛

QUICK FACTS Name: Colin Age: About 6 Years Old Gender: Female (Spayed) Breed: Border Collie – Sheltie Mix Color: White and Brown Weight: 19.7kg / 43.4lbs Microchipped, Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed   MY RESCUE STORY I was rescued from an unlicensed breeding facility where life felt small and repetitive. I didn’t know much about the world outside of those walls, and everything around me felt unfamiliar. Then one day, I was finally brought somewhere safe. For the first time, I began to experience gentle care, quiet comfort, and freedom to simply be myself. Now I’m slowly discovering how nice life can be—soft beds, kind hands, and peaceful days. There’s still so much I’m learning, but I’m ready for a brighter chapter ahead.   MY HEALTH All vaccinations up-to-date Spayed & healthy with no known health issues   MY PERSONALITY Hi, I’m Colin. I may seem a little shy when we first meet, but it doesn’t take long before my affectionate side starts to show. Once I feel comfortable, I become incredibly loving and happily stay close, always hoping for a few more pets and gentle attention from my favorite people. People often notice my soft, elegant appearance and my sweet little habits—especially the way I gently place my paw into your hand when asking for affection. It’s my own quiet way of connecting and showing trust. Beneath my fluffy, charming looks is a warm-hearted dog who simply enjoys being loved and included. If you’re looking for a gentle companion who brings both comfort and joyful companionship into everyday life, I would be so happy to stay by your side.   MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I can be a little shy at first, but it doesn’t take me long to warm up—especially if treats are involved. Once I feel comfortable, I happily accept gentle touch and quickly begin showing my affectionate side. When I truly trust someone, I’ll roll over to share my belly and enjoy those sweet, quiet moments together. I’m also comfortable being picked up, which helps me feel safe and close to my people. · With Dogs: I’m polite and calm when meeting unfamiliar dogs, usually greeting them briefly before going on my way rather than turning it into playtime. Very high-energy dogs can feel a little overwhelming to me, so I tend to prefer quieter, more relaxed company and even if another dog behaves rudely, I’d rather avoid conflict and simply move away. When I’m with my person, I’m often more focused on staying close to them than paying much attention to the dogs around me. · With Cats: My reaction to cats is unknown   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I have moderate energy level – I enjoy spending time outdoors and exploring at a relaxed, comfortable pace, then settling down peacefully once I’ve had my fun. Walks are one of my strengths—I move calmly on leash, stay nicely connected to my person, and naturally follow along with ease, making me a lovely companion for everyday outings.   TRAINING & HABITS I have a calm, easygoing nature and feel comfortable sharing my space, even around food. I’m generally very quiet and rarely bark. I settle nicely in a kennel I usually prefer doing my bathroom breaks outdoors.   MY IDEAL HOME I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with: A family that will provide me with a safe haven – where I can decompress, be myself in a stable environment A family that understands my past and is patient with me throughout A family that enjoys indoor and outdoor time together A family that will love and cherish me forever   SPECIAL NOTES    COLIN'S YOUTUBE PLAYLIST   Apply to foster or adopt: https://www.welcomedogkorea.org For Inquiries: info@welcomedogkorea.co ##2736166##

Story
Marco is a purebred, Australian cattle dog a.k.a. blue heeler. He was born with a bilateral cleft lip. This birth defect does not stop him from doing anything. A normal dog would do. He eats just like a normal dog would eat. You just have to brush his teeth a little more often in that area to get the food out and check for grass or sticks that may get stuck in there. Please note this is not the same thing as a cleft palette. This is just a cleft lip and he can eat any type of food completely fine. Marco may look a bit different but he is a gorgeous boy. Marco is currently 5-8 months old 17 pounds. Male Heelers are typically 40-50 pounds fully grown. He is very timid and shy and under socialized but a gentle, nervous boy who has a huge heart and a beautiful soul. He does nervous pee so we are working on this and I do not think this will be forever I think once he gain some confidence, he will be perfectly fine. He gets very nervous with new people, dogs, and places. He needs a committed adopter willing to socialize him, be patient, loving , kind, and start on some basic puppy 101 training when he is ready. He is a nervous nelly but has the absolute sweetest soul. Please give him a chance !!
