Story
Meet Piper!! (case #22449) At just eight months old, Piper is still a puppy with a whole world of adventures ahead of her! This lovely Border Collie mix arrived at the shelter as a stray, and sadly, no one came forward to claim her. Now, she’s looking for a fresh start with a family who will help her grow into the confident, happy dog she’s meant to be. Piper is a sweetheart at heart, but she can be a little unsure of herself in new situations. She’s still learning about the world, and she’ll need a patient, encouraging family who understands that confidence takes time to build. The good news? This clever girl already knows how to sit, and she’s motivated by food, making treats and positive reinforcement excellent tools for helping her learn! As a Border Collie mix, Piper has brains to spare and plenty of energy to match. She’ll thrive with a family who enjoys teaching new skills, working on training, and finding fun ways to keep both her mind and body busy. Think walks, games, enrichment activities, and learning new tricks! A predictable routine, clear structure, and consistent, reward-based training will help her feel secure while giving her the guidance she needs to succeed. Piper was a little timid when introduced to an overly enthusiastic dog at the shelter, so she may appreciate a calmer canine companion who respects her space and lets friendships develop at her pace. Any dog introductions should be thoughtful and gradual, allowing Piper the time she needs to feel comfortable. Piper may not be the puppy who rushes headfirst into every new adventure just yet, but with the right support, she has so much potential. She’s looking for someone who will celebrate the little victories, encourage her curiosity, and help her discover that the world isn't such a big, scary place after all. Could you be Piper’s person? If you’re ready to put in the time, offer plenty of enrichment, and help a sweet, smart young dog blossom, Piper could be the perfect partner for your next adventure. Story
Apollo is a 4-year-old Border Collie with a loving, lively personality. He is house/crate trained and knows basic commands. He is very active and needs daily exercise and mental stimulation; without enough, he can become hyper and reactive, but with his needs met he is calm and well behaved. He has anxiety around unfamiliar people/animals and may snap defensively, so slow introductions and an experienced handler are essential. His reactivity has improved significantly but still needs training. He has a past history of leash-related nipping when highly reactive, though this has not happened for quite a while. He is affectionate with children and has lived with cats. Recently, he had two incidents with a household kitten during play, causing injuries requiring vet visits, including a scratch near the eye. They are currently separated/muzzled together. He also becomes intensely fixated on shadows/movement. He needs an experienced home able to provide structure and stimulation.

Story
Sometimes, a single brave decision can change a life forever. Meet Colin, a handsome smooth-coated Border Collie from Korea with beautiful black-and-white markings, warm brown eyes, and the sweetest, most expressive ears. Lean, athletic, and full of life, Colin has a cheerful spirit that shines despite everything he has been through. Colin's story began in a heartbreaking place. He was kept by a household where dogs were raised and slaughtered for meat around Boknal, the hottest days of summer in Korea. But Colin refused to give up. One day, he managed to break free from his tether and escaped. Somehow, this intelligent and determined boy found his way to a dog rescue group. His escape may have saved his life. The rescuers knew that if Colin returned to the household, he could face a terrible fate that summer. They continued to speak with the owner and patiently pleaded for Colin's surrender. Eventually, the owner agreed. Colin was finally rescued. Unfortunately, the shelter was already full, so Colin was temporarily placed with an independent rescuer who primarily cared for small dogs. Knowing that Colin needed someone experienced with an active, energetic Border Collie, she asked DoReMi Rescue to take over his care. Colin has experienced several changes in his surroundings, but through it all, his wonderful personality has remained unchanged. He is bright, joyful, affectionate, and incredibly intelligent. Colin loves people and enjoys being part of their world. He is curious about his surroundings and eager to experience new things. He is also wonderfully social with other dogs and absolutely loves running and playing with canine friends. He does well with children, too. Now, after everything he has survived, Colin is safe. But he is still waiting for the final chapter of his story: A family to call his own. Colin would thrive with an active family who understands the needs of a Border Collie and can give him plenty of daily exercise, playtime, affection, and positive training. His brilliant mind needs to be kept busy, too. Nose work, interactive toys, training games, learning new skills, and exploring new places would help him flourish. Because Colin truly loves the company of other dogs, he could be very happy sharing his home with a friendly canine companion. His new family should also be prepared to continue working with him on house training and, most importantly, to give him the patience, consistency, and love he deserves. Colin has already fought hard for his freedom. They are quite the dynamic duo. Lolo is big sister and protector - of both her human family and her brother Casey. And Casey is the goofball who wants nothing more than to play and give kisses. They are brother and sister and we want them adopted together. They love to spend their time romping in the yard and taking leisurely walks around the ranch. These beautiful and loyal companions would make great additions to an active family. They are fully vaccinated, neutered and spayed, and microchipped for life. They can be transported anywhere in the US or Canada. ##1939561##
