Story
Sometimes, a single brave decision can change a life forever. Meet Colin, a handsome smooth-coated Border Collie from Korea with beautiful black-and-white markings, warm brown eyes, and the sweetest, most expressive ears. Lean, athletic, and full of life, Colin has a cheerful spirit that shines despite everything he has been through. Colin's story began in a heartbreaking place. He was kept by a household where dogs were raised and slaughtered for meat around Boknal, the hottest days of summer in Korea. But Colin refused to give up. One day, he managed to break free from his tether and escaped. Somehow, this intelligent and determined boy found his way to a dog rescue group. His escape may have saved his life. The rescuers knew that if Colin returned to the household, he could face a terrible fate that summer. They continued to speak with the owner and patiently pleaded for Colin's surrender. Eventually, the owner agreed. Colin was finally rescued. Unfortunately, the shelter was already full, so Colin was temporarily placed with an independent rescuer who primarily cared for small dogs. Knowing that Colin needed someone experienced with an active, energetic Border Collie, she asked DoReMi Rescue to take over his care. Colin has experienced several changes in his surroundings, but through it all, his wonderful personality has remained unchanged. He is bright, joyful, affectionate, and incredibly intelligent. Colin loves people and enjoys being part of their world. He is curious about his surroundings and eager to experience new things. He is also wonderfully social with other dogs and absolutely loves running and playing with canine friends. He does well with children, too. Now, after everything he has survived, Colin is safe. But he is still waiting for the final chapter of his story: A family to call his own. Colin would thrive with an active family who understands the needs of a Border Collie and can give him plenty of daily exercise, playtime, affection, and positive training. His brilliant mind needs to be kept busy, too. Nose work, interactive toys, training games, learning new skills, and exploring new places would help him flourish. Because Colin truly loves the company of other dogs, he could be very happy sharing his home with a friendly canine companion. His new family should also be prepared to continue working with him on house training and, most importantly, to give him the patience, consistency, and love he deserves. Colin has already fought hard for his freedom. Good with dogs,
Story
Back story: Meet the Mixed Paint Litter" - seven tiny masterpieces rescued from a nightmare and now painting a brand new future. Picture this: during a storm, one tiny puppy was found trapped deep inside a culvert, covered in painful ant bites and crying for help while her devoted mama paced frantically nearby, unable to save her baby. What rescuers discovered next was even more heartbreaking - six more puppies hidden inside a hollow tree trunk, scared, hungry, and clinging to each other for comfort. After hours of careful rescue work, every single puppy was brought safely to freedom. And now? These once-forgotten babies are thriving, playful little bundles of fluff, mischief, and kisses. Their mama Ivy is incredibly intelligent, gentle, and devoted - and her puppies are already showing those same smart Border Collie traits. Whether they're tumbling over each other in play, chasing toys at lightning speed, or melting into your arms for cuddles after a busy puppy adventure, these babies are impossible not to fall in love with. Dottie, Indie, Palette, Smudge, Picasso, Ink, and Sketch are each their own little work of art - full of personality, curiosity, and puppy charm. They are looking for families ready for all the fun, chaos, love, and training that comes with raising a smart, active puppy. From storm drains and hollow trees... to soft beds, full bellies, and second chances. Personality Notes: Meet Dottie Dottie has a quiet confidence that makes her seem older than she is. She carries herself like one of the more mature puppies in the litter and naturally helps keep her siblings in line - but she also makes sure everyone gets included when it's time to play. Independent and self-assured, Dottie enjoys doing her own thing but won't hesitate to climb into your lap when affection is offered. She has a wonderful balance of confidence, sweetness, and companionship. Dottie is also a little survivor. Early in life, she overcame a scary start after being found trapped and covered in fire ants - and she's shown strength and resilience ever since. She's playful, observant, loving, and seems to carry an old soul quality despite being so young. Personality highlights: o Independent but affectionate o Natural leader among siblings o Confident and mature for her age o Friendly and playful with the whole litter o Enjoys lap time and attention o Resilient little survivor o Sweet, steady personality Dottie has the kind of personality that quietly steals hearts before you realize what happened. **Adopters must be able to pick up in Niagara Falls, NY** Spayed: Not yet Good with Women: Yes Good with Men: Yes Good with Kids: No exposure Good with Dogs: Yes Good with Cats: No exposure House trained: Working on it Can be touched/handled: Yes Energy level: High-puppy energy Flight risk: Unlikely but always best to be safe until comfortable in new surrounding.
