Story
Meet Bairn, an energetic and enthusiastic dog in search of an active, confident owner. Bairn has a zest for life and loves to stay busy, whether it’s going for runs, long walks, swimming, or cuddling with his favorite people. He thrives on learning new things and is a quick learner—definitely a smart cookie! Bairn is reactive to new people, other dogs, and some vehicles, so he will need to be walked with a muzzle as a precaution. However, his reactivity can be managed with consistent training, energy-draining activities, keeping a safe distance from triggers, and positive reinforcement for good behavior. When his mind is engaged and his energy is properly channeled, Bairn is much more balanced and in control. This wonderful boy will need a dedicated owner who is committed to continuing his training and giving him the structure he needs. While Bairn may not be immediately friendly with new people, he just needs time and slow, controlled introductions to build trust. Once he bonds with you, he’ll show you his goofy, lovable side. Bairn is looking for a home with a fully fenced yard, where he can thrive in a calm and structured environment. He would do best in a home without small children or other dogs. With patience and understanding, Bairn will prove to be the best companion you could ask for!

Story
George is a two-year-old male, roughly 45 pounds. He is a cross of some kind, perhaps between a border collie and some sort of hound? He is dignified, polite, intelligent, good-natured, loves to run and play and have his belly rubbed: he shows affection quietly, by coming and placing his head against you. He is neutered, microchipped and house-trained. He is very good with people, and generally with other dogs, at least off-leash. He can panic, however, on-leash, if he gets in close quarters with another dog. We think he must have broken his left hind foot at some point in the past: it has healed, and he can run very fast on it, but occasionally favours it, and has begun to develop arthritis. He currently lives with 2 dogs listed on our site: Pipo and Karti. George and Pipo are especially good together.  George's ideal home would be one with people who are calm and are experienced with large dogs. One where he's allowed on the couch and bed. His foster home is in  midtown Toronto.  Due to time constraints, we cannot respond to every email asking for more information on a dog. Please carefully review the bio for the dog and our adoption process https://www.speakingofdogs.com/adoption/adoption-process/.  If you are still interested in adopting, please fill out the adoption application form at the bottom of that page.September 17, 2026, 7:38 pm

QUICK FACTS Name: Hachi Age: About 6 Years Old Gender: Male (Neutered) Breed: Border Collie – Australian Shepherd Mix Color: White and Brown Weight: 22kg / 48.5lbs Microchipped, Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed   MY RESCUE STORY I was in a place where dogs were bred without care or kindness. The world around me was small, and life was more about getting through each day than enjoying it. Then one day, everything changed. I was rescued from an illegal breeding facility and given the chance to leave that life behind. Since then, I've been discovering things that once felt unfamiliar—gentle hands, comfortable places to rest, and people who care about how I feel. With each passing day, I grow a little more confident, a little more curious, and a lot more ready to share my sweet side with the world.   MY HEALTH All vaccinations up-to-date Neutered & healthy with no known health issues   MY PERSONALITY I’m the kind of dog who likes to keep an eye on everything around me. With my bright mind and calm nature, I tend to take in a situation before deciding what to do. People often notice my striking looks first, but it doesn’t take long for them to discover that I’m just as sweet as I am handsome. I genuinely enjoy being around people and love spending time with my humans. I’m gentle, affectionate, and easy to befriend. Since I’m a smart boy who enjoys treats, I pick up on routines and training quickly. I already know some basic commands, and learning new things together sounds like a pretty fun way to spend time. Life feels best when I’m near my people, whether we’re out exploring or simply enjoying a quiet day together. I’m the kind of companion who brings both intelligence and warmth wherever I go.   MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I can be a little shy when meeting someone for the first time, but a tasty treat is usually all it takes for me to warm up and start feeling comfortable. Once I get to know you, I’m happy to accept gentle pets and enjoy your company. I’m comfortable being picked up with support under my belly, and while I haven’t had the opportunity to meet children under 13 yet, I continue to gain confidence through new experiences. · With Dogs: When I meet a new dog, I’m usually happy to approach and exchange a polite greeting before moving on. I tend to be fairly independent and don’t show much interest in playing or spending time with other dogs. While I’m generally calm around dog companions, I may respond if another dog is overly pushy or confrontational, so thoughtful introductions with unfamiliar dogs would be recommended. · With Cats: My reaction to cats is unknown   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I have moderate energy level – I enjoy getting outside for walks and adventures, but I’m not a dog who needs constant activity to be happy. Once I’ve had a chance to explore and stretch my legs, I’m usually content to relax and enjoy some quiet time. I’m a pleasant walking companion who has plenty of leash experience, follows my person well, and walks without much pulling.   TRAINING & HABITS I’m comfortable sharing food with people and don’t mind having them around while I eat. Around other dogs, though, I prefer a little personal space at mealtime and may let them know if they come too close. I can be a bit vocal when I’m hoping for something I want I settle nicely in a kennel I have good house habits, using both indoor pads and going outside for bathroom breaks. I may be tempted to do a little marking when I arrive somewhere new and unfamiliar. With a consistent routine and guidance, I usually settle in and adjust to my surroundings as I become more comfortable.   MY IDEAL HOME I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with: A family that will provide me with a safe haven – where I can decompress, be myself in a stable environment A family that understands my past and is patient with me throughout A family that enjoys indoor and outdoor time together A family that will love and cherish me forever   SPECIAL NOTES    HACHI'S YOUTUBE PLAYLIST   Apply to foster or adopt: https://www.welcomedogkorea.org For Inquiries: info@welcomedogkorea.co ##2755801##

Story
Hi! My name is Cookie 🍪🤍 I’m a 1-year-old female Border Collie mix, about 15kg — a lovable medium-sized girl with a bright spirit and an even brighter heart. When I was still very young, I was placed on a euthanasia list. But someone chose not to give up on me. I was rescued and spent a month at a training center for evaluation — and the result was summed up in one word: “Perfect.” ✨ Now I’m living safely in a foster home, waiting for my forever family. My biggest charm? My social skills! I get along beautifully with other dogs, especially smaller ones. I’m playful and energetic, but also thoughtful — I actually prefer playing with dogs smaller than me and adjust my energy to match theirs. I don’t just play… I play kindly. 🐶💕 I love running, playing, and burning off my energy with friends. I prefer pottying outdoors, and after a good play session, I’m happy and satisfied. If you already have a dog at home, I think we could be the perfect team! When I first meet new people, I might look a tiny bit shy. But don’t worry — it doesn’t take long for me to warm up. I’ll gently approach, open my heart, and show you my sweet, affectionate side. I have a quiet kind of charm that sneaks up on you. 🤍 Because I’m still young, I’m happiest when I’m not alone. I truly thrive when I have a dog friend to run and play with. A life where I can share my days — that’s the life that fits me best. My second chance at life saved me. Now I’m hoping for a life where I’m never alone again. A home filled with warmth, family, and maybe even a furry best friend. Will you be my forever family? 🐾💕

Story
Hi, my name is McCall 🖤🤍 I’m a 2-year-old Border Collie boy weighing 18kg, and most people notice my eyes first. One shines bright blue, and the other is deep and dark — my special odd eyes make everyone look twice. But I hope one day, when you look at me, you’ll see more than just my appearance. I hope you’ll see my heart, too. Before rescue, my life was not very kind. I spent a long time tied to a short leash, without the freedom to run, play, or simply be a happy young dog. I didn’t receive the love and care every dog deserves. But somehow, even after everything, I still love people very much. Being with humans is my favorite thing in the world. I love when people play with me, talk to me, and spend time with me. Throw a ball for me, run around with me, or simply laugh with me, and you’ll see my whole face light up. I don’t just want toys or treats — I want connection. I watch people closely, respond to their emotions, and get so excited when someone gives me attention and love. I also enjoy making dog friends and playing with them. I’m naturally social, cheerful, and friendly, so I usually fit in well wherever I go. Because I’m a Border Collie, I’m a very smart boy. I learn quickly, notice patterns fast, and pay close attention to people and my surroundings. I’m happiest when I can use both my body and my brain. Training, games, learning routines, and communicating with my family are things that truly make me feel fulfilled. But I should be honest with you too — I have a lot of energy! I’m still young, and I love to run, explore, and stay active. A short walk alone probably won’t be enough for me. I dream of a family who enjoys adventures, outdoor time, play sessions, and teaching me new things. If you love spending time with your dog instead of simply having a dog beside you, we might be perfect for each other. There’s something important you should know: I’ve never really experienced normal family life before. Living inside a home, learning routines, waiting calmly alone, understanding house manners — these are all new things for me. Sometimes I may get excited, curious, or make little mistakes while I learn. But I promise I’m trying my best. I’m not a “difficult” dog. I’m simply a dog who is finally getting the chance to learn what love and family feel like. With patience, guidance, and kindness, I know I can become an incredible companion. Once, I could only watch the world from the end of a short chain. Now, I’m waiting for the chance to run freely, feel safe, and belong to someone forever. Maybe my odd eyes are special… but what I really hope you’ll love is my warm heart, my happy spirit, and how much I want to share my life with you. I’ll be waiting for my forever family. Maybe it’s you. 🖤🤍

QUICK FACTS Name: Jumbo Age: About 3 Years Old Gender: Male (Neutered) Breed: Border Collie Color: Black and White Weight: 13kg / 28.6lbs Microchipped, Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed   MY RESCUE STORY I spent my days living in a raised wire cage, without the comfort and freedom of a safe home. Thankfully, rescuers stepped in and brought me to safety, giving me the chance to discover kindness, care, and a whole new world beyond that cage. Now, I’m looking forward to my next chapter and finding a loving forever family to share it with.   MY HEALTH All vaccinations up-to-date Neutered & healthy with no known health issues   MY PERSONALITY Hi, I’m Jumbo! I’m a handsome, composed boy with so many of the qualities people love about Border Collies—the intelligence, attentiveness, and ability to learn—paired with a wonderfully gentle and balanced energy. There’s something naturally thoughtful and well-mannered about me, and my rescuers describe me simply as a true gentleman. When I first meet someone, I may take a brief moment to observe before deciding everything is okay. It doesn’t take me long, though. Once I’m comfortable, I approach warmly and show the friendly, gentle personality underneath that initial bit of caution. I also have good social skills with other dogs. I can happily interact and play with dog friends. I enjoy companionship, but I’m also perfectly comfortable taking a break when I want one. For someone who loves the intelligence and connection of a Border Collie but appreciates a dog with a more composed, gentlemanly presence, I could be an especially wonderful match. I’ve already shown that I know how to be someone’s companion; now I just need the opportunity to do it again. Give me a comfortable home, meaningful activity, and people I can trust, and I have a feeling you’ll see even more of the thoughtful, affectionate dog that’s been waiting underneath.   MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I can be a little shy when meeting someone new, but treats are a great way to win me over, and it doesn’t take long before I’m comfortable being touched and handled. Once I get to know you, I’ll even roll over and show you my belly—a sweet sign that I’m feeling safe and trusting. I’m comfortable being picked up with an arm supporting me under my belly, though I haven’t had experience meeting children under 13 yet. · With Dogs: I’m generally friendly with other dogs, especially those around my size or smaller. I’ll politely approach unfamiliar dogs to say hello, although I’m usually more interested in greeting them than playing together. If another dog bothers or provokes me, I tend to avoid conflict. · With Cats: My reaction to cats is unknown   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I have a moderate energy level – I enjoy spending time outdoors, but I’m also happy to settle down and relax afterward. I’m an experienced walker who follows my person well and generally walks nicely without pulling on the leash.   TRAINING & HABITS I don’t guard my food from people or other dogs I’m a quiet companion who rarely barks. I stay calm and settled in a kennel I’m comfortable doing my business both outdoors and on indoor pee pads.   MY IDEAL HOME I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with: A family that will provide me with a safe haven – where I can decompress, be myself in a stable environment A family that understands my past and is patient with me throughout A family that enjoys indoor and outdoor time together A family that will love and cherish me forever   SPECIAL NOTES    JUMBO'S YOUTUBE PLAYLIST   Apply to foster or adopt: https://www.welcomedogkorea.org For Inquiries: info@welcomedogkorea.com ##2845819##
