Adoption Fee: $50Weight: 61lbsArrival Date: 12/7/24Microchip #: 977200010650922Meet Millie – an incredibly smart and sometimes too clever dog looking for her forever home! This beautiful girl came to us with her litter of puppies, now that her pups are all grown up and in their forever homes, Millie is eagerly waiting for hers!Millie is a sweet and affectionate dog, but she’s also full of energy and needs a job to keep her mind and body busy. When she’s runs out of activities to keep her satisfied, she’s so clever that she uses the chain-link fence like a ladder to let herself out and go find more! Unfortunately, because of this, she can’t be left unattended in a yard, so she isn’t able to burn off as much energy as she needs. While Millie has found a few dog friends in the past, her play style isn`t for everyone. Millie doesn`t do anything at less than 100% and that includes playing. She does best with dog friends that can keep up and put up with her enthusiastic and rough playstyle. Due to her always-on-the-go mind set, when walking past other dogs Millie can get frustrated by being held back which can lead to barrier reactivity. Millie may do best in a home where she is the star of the show with no other dogs or any small animals. Millie is an incredibly sweet girl who would thrive in a home that can provide her with plenty of exercise, stimulation, and mental challenges. We have also been working with Millie on walking on long lines, keeping her attention on her handler, and using food puzzles to keep her mind working. If you’re looking for a bright and energetic companion, she might just be the perfect fit! Note: We recommend that potential adopters have experience with Malinois or similar breeds, as Millie’s intelligence and energy are traits typical of this breed.Millis is currently in a loving foster home so please email fostercare@safehavenhumane.com if you would like to meet her!

Courage is incredibly sweet and deeply loyal once he feels comfortable. He loves companionship, gentle petting, and being near “his person.” Though he`s still learning new environments, he`s a very brave boy through it all! His progress is both heart-melting and inspiring. He’s smart, eager to learn, and would thrive with someone who can help build his confidence at his own pace. Story
Hi I’m Jackson! Nice to meet you! I’m an 11-year-old border collie/greyhound, but I still play like a puppy and have a heart full of loyalty. I weigh 48 pounds, love a good nap on the couch or bed, and still have the agility to run, play, and explore. I used to live on a quiet rural property with the best human dad, where we had all the space in the world. After he passed away, life changed. I moved into town with my other human, but the busy streets and close neighbors have been hard on both of us. I can get a little overexcited when I see dogs, deer, or other surprises on walks — I might bark or pull on leash because I’m just not sure what to do with all that energy! In safe, off-leash areas, I relax and can share space nicely with other dogs (as long as I’m not feeling left out of the people fun). I’m very people-focused and get excited to see kids, but with my strength and excitement, I might be too much in a home with little ones. My human loves me very much but can’t give me the exercise I need anymore. My ideal home? A quiet place in the country or a peaceful neighborhood, with an adult or two who want a loyal, energetic companion and have time to spend with me. I'd love a place with no kids and no other pets — so I can focus on loving you! Sound like a good fit? Please apply! I've been at SDRO a long time and would love to find my second lease on life.
