Story
Meet Kage, the ultimate good boy who's just so darn cute! This gentleman is a pro at house living, fully potty trained, and a master at walking on a leash and harness. He's a social butterfly, getting along famously with other dogs and loving those backyard playdates with his pals. Kage is a stunning mix of Lab and Border Collie, the perfect blend of intelligence and family-friendliness. He's just the right size, like a mini Lab or a slightly larger Border Collie. When you find two fantastic things that go together like peanut butter and jelly, you celebrate! Kage is that winning combo, and now you can celebrate by making him a cherished member of your family. His temperament is pure gold - sweet as honey with everyone he meets. Now, here's the scoop: Kage is a special needs pup, and he's looking for someone who can be with him about 90 percent of the time. Storms, rain, and loud noises send him into severe panic attacks, and he's been known to chew through walls when anxiety strikes. Crates aren't his jam because of past storm-related trauma. He's also dealing with seizures, so he's on medication for that. Kage would thrive in a local adoption, and he's best as a single dog with no cats or small animals around. He's a wonderful companion for older kids, and he loves nothing more than cuddles and long walks. He's got the whole house training thing down too. His foster mom adores him and has prepared him for his forever family as best she can. Now, the ball is in your court. Remember, when you adopt Kage, you're not just bringing home a good boy; you're giving him the loving, understanding home he deserves. Don't shop, adopt, because Kage's life depends on it! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

Story
Meet Tuck and Briar! These two handsome boys came from a small rural shelter a little rough around the edges—skinny with some patchy hair—but just look at them now! Their gorgeous long, soft coats are growing back in, and so are their big, bright personalities. Tuck and Briar are high-energy, happy-go-lucky pups who LOVE toys—stuffy toys, bouncy balls, squeaky toys—you name it! They’ll even toss their own toys in the air and chase them down with full-on zoomies. Treats are their love language, and they’ll sit pretty with the biggest grins for a tasty bite. If you're looking for a smart, adventurous, and playful pup (or maybe a matching duo?), Tuck and Briar are ready to bring the fun to your life. Don’t miss out—adopt your new best friend today! Local adoption fee is $250(in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)

Adoption Fee: $50Weight: 61lbsArrival Date: 12/7/24Microchip #: 977200010650922Meet Millie – an incredibly smart and sometimes too clever dog looking for her forever home! This beautiful girl came to us with her litter of puppies, all named after characters from Wicked. Now, with all her puppies finding their forever homes, Millie is eagerly waiting for hers!Millie is a sweet and affectionate dog, but she’s also full of energy and needs a job to keep her mind and body busy. While we make sure she gets out to Play Group every day, her energy often builds up. When she’s done playing, she’s so clever that she uses the chain-link fence like a ladder to let herself out! Unfortunately, because of this, we can’t leave her unattended in a yard, so she isn’t able to burn off as much energy as she needs. She does great with other dogs in Play Group, but when walking past other dogs behind fences, she can get frustrated due to the lack of space to exercise. This frustration has led to some barrier reactivity, but she’s calm and happy once she’s in the yard playing freely.Millie is an incredibly sweet girl who would thrive in a home that can provide her with plenty of exercise, stimulation, and mental challenges. We have also been working with Millie on walking on long lines, keeping her attention on her handler, and using food puzzles to keep her mind working. If you’re looking for a bright and energetic companion, she might just be the perfect fit! While Millie continues her search for her forever home, we would love to place her in a foster home where she can receive the positive reinforcement training she needs. If you’re interested in fostering, please reach out to us at fostercare@safehavenhumane.com.Note: We recommend that potential fosters or adopters have experience with Malinois or similar breeds, as Millie’s intelligence and energy are traits typical of this breed.

Story
This is Jax. We got him as a puppy 5 years ago from a breeder in Oregon at a farm. He has been a wonderful dog. He is so loving, goofy, funny. He loves playing frisbee and just running around outside. He’s a little afraid of toddler and younger kids but does fine with older kids. He used to be great with dogs then one day he decided he didn’t really like other dogs. I think with training and time he could get used to other dogs again. He has been so wonderful and full of loyalty and love. He needs a decent yard or some land to run around.
