Kage is a stunning mix of Lab and Border Collie, the perfect blend of intelligence and family-friendliness. He's just the right size, like a mini Lab or a slightly larger Border Collie. When you find two fantastic things that go together like peanut butter and jelly, you celebrate! Kage is that winning combo, and now you can celebrate by making him a cherished member of your family. His temperament is pure gold - sweet as honey with everyone he meets. Now, here's the scoop: Kage is a special needs pup, and he's looking for someone who can be with him about 90 percent of the time. Storms, rain, and loud noises send him into severe panic attacks, and he's been known to chew through walls when anxiety strikes. Crates aren't his jam because of past storm-related trauma. He's also dealing with seizures, so he's on medication for that. Kage would thrive in a local adoption, and he's best as a single dog with no cats or small animals around. He's a wonderful companion for older kids, and he loves nothing more than cuddles and long walks. He's got the whole house training thing down too. While we make sure she gets out to Play Group every day, her energy often builds up. When she’s done playing, she’s so clever that she uses the chain-link fence like a ladder to let herself out! Unfortunately, because of this, we can’t leave her unattended in a yard, so she isn’t able to burn off as much energy as she needs.She does great with other dogs in Play Group, but when walking past other dogs behind fences, she can get frustrated due to the lack of space to exercise. This frustration has led to some barrier reactivity, but she’s calm and happy once she’s in the yard playing freely.Millie is an incredibly sweet girl who would thrive in a home that can provide her with plenty of exercise, stimulation, and mental challenges. We have also been working with Millie on walking on long lines, keeping her attention on her handler, and using food puzzles to keep her mind working.
