***I WOULD PREFER A HOME WITH NO SMALL CHILDREN.I am very energetic and playful. Sometimes I use my mouth, but not in an aggressive manner. I do jump, and will need to learn some manners, but I am a very sweet guy who will lean into you after I get some of my energy out. I'd do well with older children who I couldn't knock over when I get dramatic and goofy. I also enjoy playing with toys and will catch them in midair.

Story
ADOPT ME ONLINE: https://ophrescue.org/dogs/13401My name is Jacob and I am guessed to be a 1 year old Border Collie/Lab mix. My weight at the moment is 50 pounds. I have only been in foster care a few days, but here are some things about me.- I am a sweet gentle boy who is shy initially but loves being with people- I love getting pets and giving kisses- Although cautious, I am a curious boy and am enjoying slowly exploring and checking out all the new things in my foster home and yard- I am a smart boy. I have already learned to open lever handled doors and I know the difference between my bag of treats and foster mom's- I know "sit" and "come" and am treat motivated- I enjoy the company of other dogs- When foster mom is working at her desk, I like to rest in my crate. It is my quiet safe space. We leave the door open all day so I can come and go as I choose- I had an accident in my crate the first night off transport but since then have been going potty outside. - I am most comfortable off leash in a fenced in yard, but learning that there are perks to wearing a harness and leash- I am starting to wag my tail a lot when I see foster mom and to show interest in my toy box (foster mom doesn't think I've really had toys before)- At night I go into my crate with treats and sleep quietly until morningI am looking for a loving home where I can thrive and continue to gain confidence and trust. If that's you, apply today.

Story
Mimi is a very sweet younger female Great Pyrnese MIx. She was found on the side of the road during a thunder storm, scared and lost. She was brought to us and turned out to be a very sweet sweet girl. We searched for a owner and posted online looking for her owner but no one responsed. So we took her to our local vet and had her vaccinated, spayed, and chipped.   She loves all the other dogs and loves to play.  She is doing well on a leash.  Mimi is currently living in the Texas Hill Country and can be transported to any where in the United States and Canada.  Please inquire about Mimi or fill out our online application. And have this beautiful girl a part of your family forever.   ##1760149##

They are quite the dynamic duo. Lolo is big sister and protector - of both her human family and her brother Casey. And Casey is the goofball who wants nothing more than to play and give kisses. They are brother and sister and we want them adopted together. They love to spend their time romping in the yard and taking leisurely walks around the ranch. These beautiful and loyal companions would make great additions to an active family. They are fully vaccinated, neutered and spayed, and microchipped for life. They can be transported anywhere in the US or Canada. ##1939561##

Story
At the Beginning of December 2023, we had 12 dogs surrendered to the shelter after their owner had passed away. This group of pups lived their whole lives in barn stalls until they arrived at the shelter. They were all dirty and very scared when they arrived. They all needed some time to learn that the outside world is not as scary as it seems, and they have all made leaps and bounds adjusting to shelter life. These guys as far as we know, have never lived in a house and will need time to adjust to one. They will need homes that have the patience to work with them with new situations and help them blossom! They are all really sweet pups with the potential to be wonderful companions! Denali is the most senior of the group at 8 years old (not that you can tell!) he is an active guy that loves to go for walks and play in the play yard! He is one of the more outgoing of the group. He adjusted to his new living situation quicker than some of his barn companions. He loves attention and loves to be with you! He will need someone that understands that he will need regular grooming to keep his coat from getting matted. He did well getting baths here at the shelter and enjoyed getting a "spa" day! Denali has would love to find his loving forever home soon! Denali must meet all family members that reside in the home. He has been neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, Heartworm/Lyme tested, and microchipped since his arrival at the shelter.Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter5051 Letterkenny Road WestChambersburg, PA 17201Kennel License# 2090

Story
male, approx. 1 years old, 47 lbs Personality: protective, goofy/funny, adventurous, adaptable, gentle, rambunctious, eager-to-please, smart, energetic, playful, loyal, calm, outgoing, easygoing, brave, snuggler, affectionate, and trustworthy. Do you know what's better than an adorable dog? An adorable dog named after delicious cheese! Meet Colby, and like his namesake snack, he is a true delight and a hit at any party! This smart, affectionate pup does it all; he's rocking potty training, is quiet and tidy in his crate, has great leash manners, and knows the word "sit". Colby rocks that big puppy energy; he romps and plays (especially with squeaky toys and other dogs) like it's his job, but easily settles into nap mode. He'll do best with an active household that can consistently exercise his mind and his cute, wiggly body. Everything sparks joy for Colby, so he loves people, dogs, kisses, and chewy toys. Eager to earn his keep and protect the house, he will alert you to threatening squirrels outside. If you're looking for a loyal and loving best friend (for you or your existing pup), fill out an application today to meet Colby! Colby was sponsored by Jim Ellis -- thank you for saving a life! ________________________________________________________________________ If you are interested in meeting a dog or cat, we require an adoption application. If the animal has "HAS APPLICATION" listed, they are still available to receive additional applications but also may be in the process of being adopted soon. Learn more, see our list of dogs needing foster, and apply, https://www.citydogsrescuedc.org/foster-a-city-dog.html City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is a foster-based rescue in Washington, DC. We do not have a shelter. CDCK has a thorough adoption process to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs and cats (we do not operate under a first-come, first-served model). Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations, disease screenings, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter for dogs six months and older. We do not provide a comprehensive medical exam before adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDCK. City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us. Dog specific: Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella vaccines. They are tested for HW, Lyme, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis. Most cats and dogs will have a house-training accident in the initial days in their new home and we cannot guarantee any pet is housebroken or crate trained. We also update our Facebook page daily with new cats and dogs.

Story
This stunning 3 year old, 50 pound Border Collie girl is called Evee and she is looking for a home where she can be herself.  This girl needs an active person or family or couple to take her on hikes, jogs, walks and just a lifestyle filled with experiences that are stimulating and challenging mentally.  Border Collies are so very smart and it is not good for them to be bored or ignored.  We are looking for a situation with perhaps older children, empty nesting couple that wants a strong minded and loving dog that will be devoted to them.  Evee would like to be the only dog in the home.  She is housebroken, crate trained and needsto be out and about experiencing new things in her life, so that she is less nervous meeting new people and going places. She has led a very limited life so far and we want to see her have more FUN!  She is a beauty that is striking with her shiny black coat with snow while accents.  She is the definition of 'Black and White' coloring.  It would be ideal for her to be in a home with a secure, fenced yard.  If you are interested in our girl Evee please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com   She is ready for a happier new chapter in her life. PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comFebruary 20, 2024, 2:36 pm

Story
Meet Murphy, our adorable little Border Collie Mix boy puppy who was rescued from a small town shelter where he was under weight and riddled with internal parasites.  His future was very bleak but now Murphy has been treated and is a healthy, happy little guy free of parasites and gaining weight like a puppy should.  Born around November 1st, he is approximately 10 weeks old (as of Jan 5th) and weighs 12 pounds.  He is expected to reach around 40 pounds as an adult.  He is friendly with all humans (toddlers included), dogs and cats that he has been in contact with.  Murphy is curious, playful and very loveable and is quite the talker.  Murphy seems to be the most curious of his siblings.  His foster mom believes he is mixed with many different breeds that are smart and inquisitive.  If you are interested please email us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.February 20, 2024, 2:36 pm

Story
Nelson here! My new adoptive family will need to be ready to provide a lot of training which my friends at FOHA will help to coordinate at time of adoption. I can be unpredictable so I am looking for a family with no kids 15 and under. Look deep into my different colored eyes - then get me a ball! I LOVE to play fetch! The second I see a ball or hear you say the word, I'm ready to play. I know how to fetch and I'll bring the ball right back to you and drop it at your feet. I also love water and getting sprayed with a hose! I've been lucky to join doggy social here at FOHA and I have enjoyed playing with other dogs. I love going for walks as I get to know the volunteers and they get to know me. As much as I like new dogs I am not comfortable around a lot of new people. So I would not do well in a dog park or doggie daycare. I'll go ahead and say it, I'm extremely smart. I'm looking for an active family that will put my intelligence to good use. I would love to have a huge fenced in backyard to chase my ball until my heart is content. Apartments and condos will not be a good fit for me. If you would like to come meet me, submit an application and we can set up a time to get to know each other. See you soon!! I am looking for a home with no kids, no cats, house with a large backyard, and an experienced owner willing to work on training. Check out all of the dogs available at Friends of Homeless Animals! https://foha.org/pet-adoption/find-a-dog/

Candy-Australian Shephard female, ~5-6 mo. (Feb. 2024) Email rescuebc@hotmail.com for an application. Candy came to Rescue when her owner passed away. The adult children took in the dogs but are overwhelmed with the numbers and need to help the dogs get into new homes. The asked the Rescue to help them. Candy is a sweet, beautiful female puppy, about 30# now. She is about 5-6 mo. old, we were told and full of love. She's used to playing with the children and living with other dogs. Cats are an unknown at this time. She's had to live a kennel life where she has been, so Candy will need help refining her housetraining and house manners. She is bred to be intelligent and a dog that needs a job, something to keep her mind and body sharp. She could very well be a candidate for agility. She will be an awesome hiking or running partner. A home with Australian Shepard experience would be given preference, all things considered. Candy's adoption fee is $450 to help cover the medical costs of getting ready for adoption. For our application, please email rescuebc@hotmail.com Include your location and a phone number for future communication.
