Meet Norse! Norse is a calm, sweet boy who knows how to play fetch and will bring the toy back to you - right into your lap! He seems to like squeaky toys the best. He is great on leash. He is described by volunteers as eager-to-please, friendly, goofy, snuggly, and treat-motivated. Norse does well with other low-key dogs who like to be chill like he is!{goodWithDogs: yes}

Story
Meet Maple, a loving and snuggly girl who is every bit as sweet as her namesake. She can be nervous with new people and may need a little time to warm up, but once she’s comfortable, she becomes a very affectionate cuddlebug who loves attention. Maple is food motivated, enjoys going for walks, and will happily chase a squeaky toy when you’re ready to play. She’d do best in a patient home with older, calmer kids who can give her the time and space she needs to feel comfortable.{goodWithDogs: yes}

Story
House broken and crate trained. Keeps a clean crate at night. Walks good on a leash, knows "sit" , working on "heel" Plays with both small and large dogs. Has been receiving socialization. We highly recommend he continues to meet new people. He Loves kids! He would do best with a home that has a secured fenced in yard, someone or another dog to play. He loves cuddling and playing. He is not a fan of getting his feet wet, so won't be one that likes to swim. He prefers to be a land shark. Really likes watching TV especially WWE He is food motivated. High-energy and intelligent. He will need physical and mental stimulation. Being he is very smart and generally eager to please, but does best responding to positive reinforcement. Varied training games will help him stay engaged. His only real vise is that he will chew, as he is still a puppy and learning what is allowed and what isn't. He also has selective hearing at times. He gets along with our farm animals. He is 60 lbs with a strong muscular build and stands as tall and long as a cattle dog (he is 55% cattle dog) He is much heavier than he looks, as his body weight is dense & compacted. His coat is low-maintenance. Neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped. DNA results: 55% Cattle dog, Will come with a new leash & collar and transition food, and 14 days post adoption support. Adoption fee $75

Story
**Meet Joey! ❤️** Joey is a handsome 2-year-old, 65-pound Cattle Dog mix who came to the Blount County Animal Center as a stray. Despite everything he’s been through, Joey has remained one of the sweetest dogs you’ll ever meet. Not long after arriving at the shelter, Joey developed an enlarged prostate that left him in a great deal of pain. Even while he was uncomfortable, he was incredibly gentle, patient, and cooperative with everyone caring for him. Thanks to a course of antibiotics, he’s feeling great and is back to his happy, healthy self! Joey enjoys the company of other dogs and has been paired for playtime with Amethyst. He’s a friendly, affectionate boy who is ready to leave shelter life behind and find a family to call his own. If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a kind heart and a resilient spirit, Joey may be the perfect match. Come meet this wonderful boy—you just might fall in love.

Story
My husband and I rescued Stirling as a young puppy. I love him. He is a sweet dog. Unfortunately, even after over a year with us, our home doesn’t seem to be the right place for him. He is uncomfortable with my husband and we can’t figure out why with some days being perfectly fine and other days being unwilling to come out of his kennel to eat. (I can see how this sounds like my husband is mean but he doesn’t have this issue with our other pets and because of it, mainly tries to give Stirling space) He has growled at my daughter for being near him when he’s eating. He barks at and has nipped other children and seems very agitated by anyone running. And I have found that I’m lacking the ability to train him not to bite at our other dog’s ankles and with her being a Rottweiler we worry that my failure could result in his injury. He WANTS to herd something. He LOVES being loved on. He LOVES to play. I want to find him a home he can be comfortable in and I know mine isn’t the right one.

Story
Leo is a mini Australian Shepherd who turned 1 on March 28th. We got Leo at PetLand in August 2025. He is the sweetest boy that loves always being near his family. Leo is fully house trained, crate trained, and knows several tricks. His favorite activities are going on walks and running with dog friends at the dog park. He is incredibly smart and loves kisses and affection. Because of his breed, he loves playing outside and being very active. We have a small yard with aggressive dogs on either side, so Leo gets limited use of his yard. Our hope is that he would find a family that has plenty of room for him to run and play. We believe he would be so happy and thrive in that type of environment. He is the best companion, loves riding in the car, and will always be by your side. Leo does try to be the alpha in the family, so he needs a family experienced with this and this type of breed.
