As with many herding dogs, she is vocal and a bit anxious but very eager to please. She LOVES to be petted and will nudge you to do so. She currently lives with 2 other dogs and 2 cats. She mostly ignores the cats but loves to play with her doggie siblings. She is spayed, microchipped and fully vaccinated. Now, before we go any further into my story.... let me warn you...it contains heartache and then some puppies, and fear and even some hopelessness. We do go to the top of the mountain as well, so hold in for the wild ride of my life:) maybe you will get to be my happily ever after.... So I was born a poor border collie mixed pup, in the miserable heat, in a disgusting backyard. To a mama that could have been so beautiful, if she had been brushed and cared for.... Fast forward thru almost 4 YEARS of misery and puppies, we were saved!!! I was saved with 9 newborn puppies and my sister/daughter/ cousin, etccc Princess and HER 9 PUPPIES TOO! We landed safe and sound at the rescue! We are now gorgeous girls and all pups grown and adopted! Now its time for me!! I am a single gal, and really don't like other dogs in my business. She’s incredibly smart and athletic. She does well on a leash, loves car rides and already knows basic commands like sit, stay, shake, down and come. She would thrive with an active family that enjoys keeping both her mind and body busy. Pipa’s most favorite thing is being with her people. She’ll happily follow you from room to room, making sure she never misses out on the action. She also loves her toys and spending time exploring outside. She has been well-socialized and does great with all dogs. She loves all people as well. She can be a bit mouthy when excited, so she should be watched around small children. Her fosters have been working with her, and she is improving in this area every day! She’s already sleeping through the night in her crate like a champ! House training is still a work in progress. However, she can be crated during the day and at night with no accidents. While she does not yet alert you when she needs to go out, she will go days at a time with no accidents if taken out frequently. She will need a family willing to continue helping her learn with patience and consistency. She doesn’t always show her true personality at adoption events and may be shy, especially around men. But once she’s back in the comfort of her home and feels safe, she transforms into a happy, affectionate, and playful companion. Rayla has a joyful spirit that’s impossible not to love. Her full-body wiggles, wagging tail, and enthusiastic requests for belly rubs are her favorite ways of showing just how much she loves her people. She has a fun, upbeat personality that shines once she trusts you, and her adoring gaze says it all. Rayla has an old leg injury that likely occurred when she was a puppy. It healed in an abnormal position, and vets determined that correcting it would require a major surgery or amputation—neither of which is recommended since she isn’t in pain and has adapted remarkably well.
