Story
Rachel - Border Collie/Lab mix - Female - 5.5 yrs - www.twyla.org If you'd like to know more about this dog please visit our website at www.Twyla.org Meet Rachel: this gorgeous 5.5-year-old Border Collie Lab has returned to us as her needs and her families availability simply grew apart, like it happens sometimes. Rather than fitting a square peg into a round hole, it was determined that Rachel would be happier in a home that can more closely fit her needs. Rachel likes to have something to do, either playing with a toy or one of her dog friends or going for a walk. She seems to have a permanent smile on her face, and loves attention. She can be a little sneaky and will find unsecured garbage cans and unattended food - as she is very smart. She fine with relaxing with her pack after some playtime. Rachel is fine with most other dogs - she can be a little slow on picking up subtle social cues form other dogs ("I don't want to play right now" - "OK, how about now" 5 seconds later...) so tolerant dogs are the easiest fit, and while she is pretty easily corrected and redirect, you may have to repeat yourself a few times for her to believe you. She does want to please her humans and loves to cuddle. Rachel does not like to be left alone, and is looking for a home where someone is home a lot and can devote time and energy to her exercise, training and give her the attention and affection she craves. Some dogs handle changes easily, Rachel is not one of them, so an experienced and patience handler is preferred. Rachel would do best in a home with another dog or more than one, she loves kids, is house trained, but does not like to be alone and is not a fan of the crate. She can be crated and is currently crated, albeit in a rather high security crate. She is highly food motivated, which is great for training, is fine in the car, her leash training could use some fine tuning, but she is making great progress and has attended numerous group classes with her trainer with great success. ***Please note: All dogs are fostered in private homes of volunteers, so to meet a dog please fill out an Adoption Application so we may setup a private meetup with the dog or coordinate for an Introduction at the next general Adoption Meet and Greet, as not all dogs come to all Meet and Greets***

Story
**Meet Lucky!** Hi, I’m Lucky, a petite 1-yr old border collie mix with a heart full of joy and energy! I’m a playful pup who loves to chase toys, run around, and lean in for pets and belly rubs. My happy dance at mealtime will bring a smile to your face! I have the cutest markings with adorable little eye patches, white feet, and a white-tipped tail that are sure to steal your heart. I’m pretty smart too! Thanks to my amazing foster, I've learned how to sit, lay down, and even do a "touch" for targeting. I am fully crate-trained - I happily go in for my meals (or some treats) and wait patiently to come back out.  I've made great progress on leash, and I load into the car like a champ now!   I’m looking for a loving forever home where I can share my playful spirit and continue learning new tricks. If you’re ready to give me the love and attention I deserve, I can’t wait to meet you! Let’s make some wonderful memories together! July 11, 2025, 6:06 pm

Story
Raven is very social. 9 years - (Youthful like a 4yro dog!) She loves to cuddle, & the ability to be free outside enjoying nature. Human foods in moderation, no dairy. When it comes to door knocks she will bark to alert you or run from smaller things like vacuums which is comical. She is a bit timid during thunderstorms, senses when it's about to rain. In storm moments she prefers to go to a "safe place" like your room or a closet where she can relax. Raven was dropped off at a bar 2016 as a puppy for an adopter that never showed. I happened to be there closing shop & feared she would be left on the street so I took her in. Over the years with us she grew up in a family of 6 with a couple of very kind blue pit dogs, & a cat. Raven loves to say hello to other dogs and can't comprehend a mean one. Shes protective over her owners, but never aggressive. She doesn't easily warm up to men as quickly as women/girls, but with patience & gentleness she will then become your best friend.
