Story
Rachel - Border Collie/Lab mix - Female - 6.5 yrs - www.twyla.org If you'd like to know more about this dog please visit our website at www.Twyla.org Meet Rachel: this gorgeous 6.5-year-old Border Collie Lab has returned to us as her needs and her families availability simply grew apart, like it happens sometimes. Rather than fitting a square peg into a round hole, it was determined that Rachel would be happier in a home that can more closely fit her needs. Rachel likes to have something to do, either playing with a toy or one of her dog friends or going for a walk. She seems to have a permanent smile on her face, and loves attention. She can be a little sneaky and will find unsecured garbage cans and unattended food - as she is very smart. She fine with relaxing with her pack after some playtime. Rachel is fine with most other dogs - she can be a little slow on picking up subtle social cues form other dogs ("I don't want to play right now" - "OK, how about now" 5 seconds later...) so tolerant dogs are the easiest fit, and while she is pretty easily corrected and redirect, you may have to repeat yourself a few times for her to believe you. She does want to please her humans and loves to cuddle. Rachel does not like to be left alone, and is looking for a home where someone is home a lot and can devote time and energy to her exercise, training and give her the attention and affection she craves. Some dogs handle changes easily, Rachel is not one of them, so an experienced and patience handler is preferred. Rachel would do best in a home with another dog or more than one, she loves kids, is house trained, but does not like to be alone and is not a fan of the crate. She can be crated and is currently crated, albeit in a rather high security crate. She is highly food motivated, which is great for training, is fine in the car, her leash training could use some fine tuning, but she is making great progress and has attended numerous group classes with her trainer with great success. ***Please note: All dogs are fostered in private homes of volunteers, so to meet a dog please fill out an Adoption Application so we may setup a private meetup with the dog or coordinate for an Introduction at the next general Adoption Meet and Greet, as not all dogs come to all Meet and Greets***

Story
Rory - GSD/BC Mix - Female - 1 year - www.twyla.org If you'd like to know more about this dog please visit our website at www.Twyla.org Meet the Gilmore Girls! "We were found in an abandoned trailer in very unsafe conditions. Once rescued by our foster family, we started opening our eyes to see this beautiful world around May 12th, and boy are we HAPPY TO BE HERE! Our Mom - who has already found her permanent place once we find ours - is a gorgeous Shepherd mix and very patient with us and our apparently very sharp teeth. As my name suggests, I’m Yale-worthy smart. 🧠 Despite being a runt (closely tied with Sookie), I was the first to open my eyes and the first to escape the baby pen. My foster parents put in a lot of work to keep me safe! Sookie and I probably have a different dad than our litter mates, but Mama won’t spill. She said not until we’re adults, but something tells me she doesn’t even know who our dad is. I love to spill my food as soon as it’s served. Don’t worry— I still eat it so you don’t have to clean it up! I’m a huge lover. When I was a tiny baby I would get cold after bath time so my foster mom would swaddle me in a bath towel and rock me until I stopped shivering. When I was fresh into the world my foster mom actually had to plug me in to eat first because my bigger siblings would knock me off Mama’s nipples! Don’t be fooled by my backstory— my legs are growing an inch a day so I will probably end up being pretty big and strong!" Rory is looking for a home with other dogs to help mentor her and play with her. Older kids may be OK in a home with a large-breed experienced handler as these pups grow by leaps and bounds and don't know their size and strength yet. ***Please note: All dogs are fostered in private homes of volunteers, so to meet a dog please fill out an Adoption Application on our website (http://www.twyla.org/adopt/our-adoption-process) so we may setup a private meetup with the dog or coordinate for an Introduction at the next general Adoption Meet and Greet (as listed on our website: (http://www.twyla.org/upcoming-events), as not all dogs attend all Meet and Greets***

Story
Nova is 10 years old, very loving and toy-motivated. Unfortunately I am moving out of the country and don’t have many options in my network to rehome as she is still very active, and is best with a lot of play.I feel she will likely thrive in an environment with a backyard or field. She does take time to warm up to new dogs/pets.

Story
Hi, I'm looking to rehome my 10-month-old Border Collie mix, Bellatrix (Bella). She's an incredibly smart, high-energy girl with a strong herding and prey drive. She is very affectionate with people and loves to play and learn. However, she has some concerning food aggression issues with other dogs. She has bit our other dog 2–3 times and has bitten both my partner and my partner's mother while we were breaking up fights. No unprovoked attacks on people.Because of this, we no longer feel safe keeping her in a multi-dog home. She is not fully house-trained and has occasional accidents.Bella needs an experienced owner who can give her firm leadership, plenty of mental stimulation, and consistent training. She would do best as an only dog in a home that understands reactive or working-line breeds. If you have experience with high-drive or reactive dogs and can give her a dedicated single-dog home, please reach out. Happy to share vet records and more details.Thank you for considering her.

Story
Vader is about 8 years old, 45 lbs and an absolute sweetheart. All he wants is attention and to be loved. He is happy laying about all day and has been since he was a year old. He does run around outside but prefers to lay around. He is potty trained. He has been around other dogs and cats and is very good with them. I have an autistic child and he loves and adores her. He would be very happy in a house with kids but he would also be happier with an older adult who wants a lazy dog. He is up to date on shots and has a microchip.
