In working with Kendra we've been seen some really nice things come out about her.  Kendra is a 1 yr. old Border Collie mix female who is full grown at about 47 lbs.  We've learned that she walks on leash & were pleasantly surprised that she's doing great with crate training.  Add on to this that she's a very friendly & loving dog we feel she will make someone a great companion.  If you're interested in adopting Kendra call Friends for Animals 817-326-3647 to set up a meet/greet appt.  Phones are answered Noon-3 pm Tues., Thur., Fri. & Sat.  Do call before you visit to make sure the dog you're interested in is available.April 25, 2024, 5:47 pm

Story
Possum is smart & enthusiastic. Look how happy he is and well adjusted! His foster is doing a wonderful job of bringing his sweet personality out. We’re thinking maybe an agility dog in the making. Who knows, a hidden celebrity!!! He knows come, and quickly learned some agility stations. He went over a jump and a round jump with ease, and even went through a tunnel with no fear. He’s an agile boy, eager to please. He’s about 18 months old, still in the puppy stage, fully vetted, neutered and heart worm negative. He is a smaller dog, 32 lbs of devotion and new zest for life. His time at the shelter really had him scared but he’s back to his good ole self as you can see. He loves his 2 resident siblings, smaller male and female. Maggy May is a pill pocket! LOL she is full of love and fun. She is very dog friendly but has that dominants personality. She is that wild child that you can't help but fall in love with and laugh so hard you have to hold your side! She is housebroken but needs a strong crate while getting use to a new environment. She is good on leash and easy to handle :) Mags would do great in an active household where she can go on adventures and snuggle on the couch!

Story
I am in need of re-homing my dog Sophie. I rescued her at the Hurst Adoption Center Nov 2023. She is 9 months old and weighs around 30 lbs. She is a border collie mix. She lives with my older dog and they get along great! She is great with dogs and super playful. She is crate trained so she knows to potty when taken outside. She knows sit and how to fetch toys. She loves to cuddle and play with her toys. She needs a home with a yard for her to run. I can't provide the time and attention she needs so I'm hoping to find a better home for her.

Story
We got Louise from prairie paw, it is a no kill shelter for animals. She was born in late November of 2023. She is a border collie mix. She is a beautiful black and white dog, her black hair shines. She is a very sweet and loveable dog. She looks you in the eyes and seems to want to ask you all kinds of questions, she turns her head side ways like she is saying, what? She does follow commands. I really don't want to give her up, but due to family illness and my age, I can no longer take care of her. I'm hoping to find a good and loving home for her.

Story
Sweet Canon had been dumped and left to roam for about 3 mos, according to the people who found him. He was trapped and brought to us which we unfolded a perfect dog! (Picture was after we shaved him to get the burs out) He loves his humans and walks great on a leash. He is a 1.5 yo Aussie mix who is visually impaired. Canon is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and wormed. Does great for a bath. He will require a secure fenced yard for his safety. He seems to be house trained and will do good with other dogs who are not too dominant, since he gets a little nervous around pushy dogs. Adoptable within 3 hours of Granbury, Tx. His adoption fee is $200 and applications can be found at www.scftx.org/adopt
