The camera loves beautiful Roxie! Roxie has lived an outdoor life with freedom, so leashes are not her favorite accessory! She has been known to slip her leash to enjoy running (which translates to chasing for you!), so a comfortable, good-fitting harness is recommended to keep her safe. Not a mean bone in her body, Roxie is friendly with children but can be shy with adults until she feels comfortable in your presence. She willingly accepts pets but does take some time to warm up to you. Give Roxie the gift of time, and she can be your constant companion and very best friend! Story
Lucy was found as a stray in a beautiful wooded neighborhood in NW Houston, likely dumped. This is unfortunately a common occurrence in this area. Lucy may be a purebred dog but we have no way to confirm this. She is a Smooth Coated Border Collie. Her age is also in question, so we are guessing she is about 5-6 years old. Lucy comes from a working breed and lives up to this reputation. She is not a dog companion. She does however like to keep all the dogs in the household in line. Lucy is a low energy dog enjoying lounging in her favorite spots on the stair landing or in front of the window where she can monitor all activity inside and outside. Other things she really enjoys are her daily walks (verbalizing her excitement), watching tv with you (and getting a back scratch), and crawling in bed in the morning to say hello. Lucy is very loving and affectionate, and would do really well as an only dog to a person or family with no small children. She does not mind children, but has a delicate back leg that should not be climbed on. She has been on a good joint supplement for this and it should be continued. Lucy is raw fed and has blossomed on this protocol. It helps her joint issue and keeps shedding from her silky coat to a minimum. We are looking for adopters that would continue this diet. She is house trained and extremely reliable. Lucy does not chew or destroy items left out. She is HW negative, spayed and up to date on her rabies vaccine. Meet Remi, a young, smart, and energetic shelter guest. She`s playful and cuddly, perfect for cozy evenings at home. Despite her shyness, Remi`s curiosity makes her an excellent companion for adventures. She`s leash trained and calm, making her a joy on walks. If she runs off while off leash, she`ll come back if you call her. She knows the sit, shake and lay down commands. She weighs 32 pounds and enjoys car rides, running, toys, and water. However, she can be a bit jumpy and tends to chew, so she`ll need a patient owner who can guide her. She`ll need help with house training too. She`s affectionate yet sometimes distrustful, requiring a gentle approach to build trust. Remi`s playful spirit makes her a favorite among her canine friends, and her easygoing nature means she gets along wonderfully with cats too but she has no experience with children. Remi would thrive in a loving home that understands her needs and promises to cherish her. (tw 12/3/2025)

Buccee is 6.5 yrs old with a heart and energy of a puppy! We recently moved homes, and unfortunately, there is no running space for him here. He loves playing catch, he loves chasing airplanes and birds, and playing tug-o-war. He is kennel trained and obeys well. He initially does not get a long with dogs until they get to spend more time together, and he can be a bit vocal but it may have to do with his current living space not being suitable for him and him not getting the enough exercise his breed requires.
