Story
Holiday is one of our Dog's Day Out stars and frequents adventures out of the shelter with volunteers. His favorite part of the outing? Definitely the pup cup! Holiday is medium-high energy, although he wears out quickly when playing. He has had good interactions with other dogs and has participated in play groups. Holiday has been in a home previously and his home notes state that he is potty and crate trained, however was herding the younger children in the home when playing. Although Holiday is a lover, he would prefer to have a home without kitty companions.

This handsome pup is Ryder! Our staff guess that Ryder is a unique mix of bull terrier and cattle dog. He can be more on the independent side of things and is content doing his own thing. Ryder has had good interactions with other dogs and participated in playgroup. Ryder does know some basic command and will show off (so long as the treats are on hand). He would prefer a home without kitty friends. Stop by to meet this unique pup today!

Story
Vermont is a very sweet and friendly girl, capturing hearts with her gentle nature. She walks well on a leash. Vermont shows signs of being potty.Given her herding dog background, Vermont may exhibit herding behavior. As a precaution, it's recommended that she finds a home without small children, as they may not be the best match for her herding tendencies. While Vermont has met other dogs, it's believed that she would thrive best as the only dog in her new home. This ensures a harmonious environment where she can shine and receive all the attention she deserves.

Gregory, the charming hound mix, captivates all who meet him with his striking white and red coat and endearing personality. He is very friendly towards both people and other dogs, and he has many doggy friends at the shelter. His impeccable leash manners and love for outdoor adventures make him a delightful companion for walks and explorations, his boundless energy and playful spirit shining through as he eagerly explores the world around him! Sweet Gregory can be a bit timid and shy at times, making him best suited to live with adults and older children. He also loves his people so deeply that he struggles when left alone, something he can overcome with patience and understanding from his adopters. We think Gregory will thrive in a low-traffic home with a loving family, and perhaps a canine sibling to play with! He is cute as a button and has so much affection to give; he will certainly be a devoted companion to whoever is lucky enough to adopt him.

Story
This pretty Heeler mix is Clover, the happiest girl with the most beautiful smile! She is young, athletic and playful; she loves life and her joy is so refreshing. Clover is highly intelligent and loves to learn, she quickly mastered skills such as "come" and "sit." She is also very social and plays nicely with other dogs, and she enjoys exploring the trails with PAWS staff and volunteers! Clover recently spent time in a foster home, and her family shared these wonderful notes about her: "Clover has the kindest and most genuine personality, she is super affectionate and just adores people! She is very well-behaved in the house, she tip-toes around and is very careful not to disturb anything. Clover gets along beautifully with our other dogs, including several PAWS foster siblings. She also adores our kids, she is so sweet and gentle with them. She really enjoys snuggling close to us, and she rolls over onto her back for belly rubs. Clover also likes car rides and I take her everywhere with me. She is very well-behaved in public and she enjoys shopping at Tractor Supply! Sweet Clover is housebroken, crate trained, and she knows many basic commands. She does have a lot of youthful energy, and she will most certainly appreciate a large yard for morning zoomies and playing fetch. We absolutely adore this sweet girl, whoever adopts her will be blessed with a loving and loyal friend for life." Clover has attended several PAWS off-site adoption events, where she always greets everyone with polite sniffs and kisses. She is quite the social butterfly and loves being the center of attention! We think Clover will be a wonderful addition to any family lucky enough to adopt her. She is a true beauty, both inside and out.

Story
Orion, the handsome Australian Red Heeler mixed breed, is a testament to resilience and loyalty. Rescued from the San Marcos animal shelter after a prolonged stay, this large adult dog longs to find his forever home. Orion is housebroken, proving himself to be an ideal companion for any household. Despite his rough start, Orion's affectionate nature shines through, endearing him to all who cross his path. While some might expect a high-energy demeanor from a cattle dog mix, Orion breaks the stereotype with his surprising love for relaxation. A true couch potato at heart, he revels in the simple pleasures of lounging indoors, content to soak up the warmth of his human's company. However, don't let his love for leisure fool you-Orion's eyes light up with excitement at the mention of a game of fetch. His boundless enthusiasm for this classic pastime is infectious, bringing joy to all who join in the fun. Despite his gentle disposition, Orion is discerning when it comes to his canine companions. Selective in his interactions, he prefers the company of dogs who share his easygoing demeanor and respect his personal space. With the right match, Orion's loyalty knows no bounds, forging bonds that withstand the test of time.

Story
I have tested heartworm positive. This means I have a parasite and need treatment. While my friends at HSNBA desperately want to help me, the shelter is too stressful an environment to undertake treatment and treatment itself is very expensive. The shelter has a few options to help with treatment, and if I steal your heart you should talk with them and your vet about what my treatment is like. For more information on heartworms, please visit the American Heartworm Society here https://www.heartwormsociety.org/pet-owner-resources/heartworm-basicsI am currently in a foster home and not at HSNBA, if you are interested in meeting me, please contact the nice folks at HSNBA so they can put you in contact with my foster family to set up a meet & greet. E-mail HSNBA at adoption@hsnba.org, call us at: (830) 629-5287 or stop by and speak with the folks at HSNBA at 3353 Morningside Dr. to get your information sent over to my foster home.
