Bonnie is a female 1 yr old 41 lb Border Collie. She loves other dogs and people. She is an energetic, very affectionate and smart gal that likes playing with her foster dogs and toys. She likes to swim too. She is crate trained. She is a great companion for an active/outdoorsy family with a securely fenced yard. She is an indoor dog that will enjoy daily walks/hikes and some dog training. No apartments! No cats please. Border Collie experience highly recommended. L & S Dog Diggity Rescue is headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, where there are over 500,000 homeless pets. We save homeless and abandoned dogs and find them loving forever homes in other areas, where pet homelessness is not epidemic. All of our pets are located here, in San Antonio, and we partner with rescues to provide transportation for our pets to their new homes. Our adoption fee includes vet care (vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchipping, etc), as well as transportation and health certificate. Remy-Australian Cattle Dog mix-male-neutered-3 years. Meet Remy! Who loves Australian Cattle Dogs? If you do, consider Remy! Remy is a special boy who came to CCHS as a surrender. He was surrendered because he would herd kids and wasn't fond of them. He was also surrendered due to be reactive to other dogs when on leash and behind a barrier. We have seen this at the shelter but if you take charge with Remy, that behavior is diminished. He is a very smart dog and Australian Cattle Dogs will take charge if they can so if you know the breed and can handle their need to be in charge, Remy follows your lead. It does take Remy a little time to warm up to strangers but he's getting better with that at the shelter, because to him, we are all strangers at first! Remy is only around 40 pounds so he's a nice size. He would love a country home where he can be in his element! Remy will chase things outside that move, such as squirrels so training a good recall with him is essential! He is also housetrained but needs time to adjust to your routine. Remy will bond quickly and strongly with his new person. He will be loyal, fun to own and he will be a great best friend. We know it will take a special home to take Remy, further his education and be his leader but we know there is a home for him! He's pretty comfortable at the shelter but it took him some time to warm up, so we expect him to need some time to adjust in a new home. Here is the short list for his new home: No kids. He needs a human that is a good leader. Another dog in the home may be ok as long as the other dog will put up with a Cattle Dog taking the lead. His previous family said cat friendly, but we still need to test him with cats. We just need someone to take the time to give this boy an education because the sky is the limit with him!
