Story
Description of the Pet Who’s looking for some fun and adventure? I’m a two year old 45 lb. Border Collie/Aussie mix who is full of energy! I’m gentle and very smart, but I need some training, another dog to play with (and learn from), and a big safely fenced yard to run in. (A safely fenced yard is required--not an "invisible" fence or a tie-out.) I’m totally vetted (shots, heartworm, microchipped, dewormed, and neutered) and would love to sign up for a beginning obedience class so that I can learn lots of new things. Because I’m so active, I don’t want to be a latch key dog so an adopter who works from home, is retired, or works just part time would be the best fit for me. My adoption fee is $275, and—if I do say so myself—I’m worth every penny! HERE IS WHAT BUCKY'S FOSTER MOM WROTE ABOUT HIM: "Bucky is a sweet, loving dog who is potty trained and does great in both his kennel and his car. He is great on a leash. He has no signs of food aggression or resource guarding. He is pretty spunky in the mornings or if he has been in his kennel for a couple hours while we are away. After a walk or some play time outside he is then happy to lay around on a dog bed, in his kennel, or in the sunshine somewhere else. He does not know what a personal bubble is and loves to be loved! We have, however, learned in his time with us that he can exhibit herding behaviors, which is not uncommon for his breed. He has never done it to the immediate family and we feel he would be great with “his people” but will need to be watched/worked with when there are guests in the home. I would also recommend that if there are children in the house, that they be of an age that understands not grabbing at him. We feel he should not be his forever family’s first dog and they should be willing to work with him on this behavior. He is good with other dogs, but again should be watched for herding behaviors with them. Bucky has learned how to sit but is still working on some other basic commands and will need some work on his manners (jumping, pulling things off the counter, etc). He is treat motivated so this will help in his training. He needs to be leashed when not in a fenced area as he is still working on his recall commands. He is not a runner, but likes to check out all the new smells he can. " INTERESTED IN BUCKY? If so please write to his present foster family at: sylvialovesme@gmail.com and tell them a little about yourself—your daily schedule, about your other family members (including other pets), etc. Then, if his foster mom feels that both parties would be a good fit for each other, she will e-mail you an adoption application to fill out, after which time we can all do a meet-and-greet. Personality traits Affectionate, Playful, Smart, Athletic, Friendly

Story
Tessa is being fostered in PA. Hi, I'm tiny Tessa, I am a 3-month-old Border Collie, so won't be tiny for long...but not too big, although I might think so, HEHE. I am 90% blind, but you would never know it. I do have a lot of puppy energy, but I am also very cuddly. I love playing with other dogs and cats. When they are resting or don't want to play, I am content playing by myself. If there is a toy box, I will submerse myself in with all the toys and find ones to play with. My foster Mommy has grand-kids and I like playing with them. We play keep away with their balls...Well, I do, and make them chase me! I like chew bones to keep me occupied at times. I really love being outside so I can run and play, I would do that all day if my foster Mommy would let me. But I am a very good girl already. When my foster Mommy calls me, I run right to her. I am very smart and working on sit and stay. I am house and crate trained. When my foster Mommy is at work, I can go 8 hours in a crate without any mess. But when my foster Mommy is home, I let her know I have to go potty by going to the back door and ringing the bells. You won't go wrong adopting sweet li'l me. I will make you very happy and will learn what you teach me and give you lots of lovens. BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

Story
Meet Raddix! Hey everyone, my name is Raddix! I'm a full-on 8 month old puppy that weighs 45 pounds, and though my feets are little bit wonky, I don't let that stop me from learning new things, playing with dog friends, or going places with my humans! I really don't know I'm any different than a normal dog. I'm still learning to be my best self, so I'm looking for someone who will be dedicated to helping me with that. I'm housebroken, but I might have accidents until I learn my new family's routine, but I promise I try to always go outside. I do okay in my crate, but I need some things to chew on in there. C’mon it's boring in there otherwise! I really should ha e a fenced yard in my new home since I'm still learning to walk nicely on a leash, and this will help me get my excersize and wear off some of my energy. If you have another dog that matches my energy level, we can play together and keep each other occupied! I'm really not a fan of cats, so I shouldn't live with any, but I could live with older kiddos. I just think I might knock a little person over since I love to give my humans hugs to show them how much I love them, and I wouldn't want to hurt a small kiddo. My foster mom and the dogtor say I'm a perfect boy that is handsome and will be someone's best friend! Just like with any young pup I'll need training and dedication, but that just means you can help me form into my best self for you, and we get to build a strong strong bond while doing so! I'm looking forward to meeting my forever people soon, and I hope that's you! *Raddix is being fostered in the Marshfield area. Albert's Dog Lounge is a specialty rescue focusing primarily on senior and special needs dogs. Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a homevisit, and then a meet and greet with the dog. Adoption fee is $300, ($550 for a pair). Learn more about Albert's Dog Lounge, our mission, and adoption policies by visiting Albertsdoglounge.org. Begin your application process by copying this link into your web browser: https://www.albertsdoglounge.org/apply WI Dept. Of Agriculture License Number: 474085-DS Disclaimer: It is VERY difficult even for a veterinarian to tell the exact age of a dog over two years old. From one vet to another, we can get different age estimates on the same dog and they can vary by several years. We are only making an educated guess based on a few factors like teeth, fur color, and overall body condition, but for dogs who have not been given adequate vet care and food, it can be even more difficult. Every dog is an individual, and we do our very best to age appropriately but make no guarantees as to the age of any dog in our program.
