Story
Located in San Antonio Texas Meet Gerti the Border Terrier! She is our newest addition. She was found running the streets with her Dogo Argentino pal. The family that found them spent weeks trying to find their owners with no success. Gerti was not spayed and did not have a microchip. The good new is, she is now spayed, microchipped, and has had all her vaccines! The bad news is, she is heartworm positive. All though we are all very bummed about this she has a fabulous veterinarian that is taking care of her! She has started Gerti on her heartworm treatment protocol and says there is no reason why she can’t find a new home while she is undergoing treatment! Now we just need to find her that perfect place to call home! If you are interested in Gerti let us know.

Story
Meet Frito! This gentle, curly-coated sweetheart has so much love to give. After arriving at the SNIPSA office from Atascosa Animal Allies, all she needed was a good bath to start opening up to us. Calm and ever so loving, Frito has all of the SNIPSA office fangirling over her cute looks and sweet disposition. Energetic, good-natured, and famously friendly, Border Terriers are known to be great family dogs. Frito’s got the personality—and the signature scruff. Chihuahuas are known to be incredibly loyal and to love attention, so get ready for some one-on-one snuggles with your new favorite gal. While her small size makes it possible for her to adapt to apartment life, it’s also important that Frito finds a home environment where she can get a lot of exercise throughout the day to release some of that extra energy (though, we think 90% of it goes to keeping her tail wagging 24/7). Her secret? She doesn’t actually like Fritos—but she’d be over the moon if you threw her a treat and gave a little scratch behind the ears! This girl is eager and easy to please. Who wouldn’t want to snuggle up with this bug in a rug? Searching for a sweet girl who can be your forever companion? Apply to adopt Frito today!

Story
5 months old… Coco is a sweet and loving dog. She loves to cuddle and watch cartoons with dogs. She likes to run and play outside, playing fetch and walks. So I’ve had Coco on the rehome for about a year because I have such a busy schedule. I have a daughter who finished high school she’s going off to Texas Tech. We’re doing a lot of traveling. My job has me traveling. I don’t have any family members here where I live so there’s no one that I can really rely on to care for her because of that fact she is so precious. Coco is a sweetheart. She is truly a lovable, maybe overly affectionate dog but very active very loving very receptive easy to teach. I love her so much but I’m 55 years old. I’ve raised three girls my last leaving now and I just don’t have the energy to give her what she needs as well as what she requires. A family of children would be great for her because she loves kids. She’s not much of a guard dog, but people think she is because of her bark it’s quite aggressive.
