Story
Located in San Antonio Texas Meet Gerti the Border Terrier! She is our newest addition. She was found running the streets with her Dogo Argentino pal. The family that found them spent weeks trying to find their owners with no success. Gerti was not spayed and did not have a microchip. The good new is, she is now spayed, microchipped, and has had all her vaccines! The bad news is, she is heartworm positive. All though we are all very bummed about this she has a fabulous veterinarian that is taking care of her! She has started Gerti on her heartworm treatment protocol and says there is no reason why she can’t find a new home while she is undergoing treatment! Now we just need to find her that perfect place to call home! If you are interested in Gerti let us know.

Boo WHO?! A Boo who would love to be with YOU! This sweet boy arrived at SNIPSA with an unknown history but we suspect somewhere along the way he had a spinal injury. He gets around like a champ greeting his fan club with a wagging tail. Boo is social, curious, and wants to join you on the sofa for long siestas. His favorite show is the Golden Girls and his favorite food is a sliver of steak. He does well with other dogs and is well behaved in the house. He isn’t loud or overbearing and is eager to find a pillow just to bed down wherever that may be. The downside is Boo suffers from mild urinary incontinence and his bladder needs to be manually expressed a few times a day. We know we have probably lost our audience at this point, but in reality it’s super easy. Just a little squeeze, he relaxes and the bladder is emptied. He is aware when the bladder is full and more than willing to help with the process. He can wear a belly band if needed for added confidence. With this aside, we know Boo will need that special person willing to step up for that special dog. Yet, we are confident there is a home for every dog so we were willing to take that chance. Please consider opening your heart and home to our scruffy little friend! He will definitely keep you smiling. Apply to adopt Boo today!

Why did the Chicken cross the road? To get to SNIPSA on the other side! This Chicken was forced to flee her coop with her sister, Gidget, after she lost her owner. With the help of a few concerned neighbors and a rescue team, she made her way to us for a second chance at life. Chicken is shy, but warming up oh so quickly in her foster home. She is a true testament to the way animals can still find trust in humans, even after abandonment. This girl loves hugs and is a total lap dog. She is curious and will follow you around at a cautious distance, but she is quickly closing the gap to become the Velcro dog of anyone’s dreams. Chicken is in need of some medical care, but SNIPSA is devoted to helping her recover from past neglect. She is receiving treatment for anaplasmosis, and we are evaluating a significant heart murmur. We are hoping that soon, she will regain good health and find unbridled happiness in a good home. So, will you share your heart with someone who really needs one?
