Story
If you’re looking for a beautiful Boston with the pliability of a piece of pasta and a spunky senior who puts the high in high energy, may we suggest Noodle? Noodle is a nugget of doggy goodness who is just waiting to wiggle into her forever home for the holidays, and we simply couldn’t think of a peppier present to be waiting under your tree. While at Muttville, we’ve conscripted her to be a photographer’s assistant, so she’s been enthusiastically encouraging the other mutts to strut their stuff with helpful tips. Is she responsible for some of the best photos on our website? That’s a bit subjective, but you know what isn’t? The fact that this lovely lady would be an excellent addition to your family. Here's some notes from her foster: Noodle is all green flags and just an absolute gem of a dog! Three adjectives I'd use to describe her are happy, friendly, and balanced. She has a great ratio of friendly and playful, and calm and cuddly. She is a friend to all—humans and canines alike. She greets everyone with the same enthusiasm: wiggles, jumps, and kisses. Noodle has never met a human she doesn't love and is absolutely over the moon with kids. She LOVES other dogs. Her excitement comes with a swift nose-to-nose introduction, but she reads others' cues well. She just loves the company of another dogs and appears happiest when one is present. Despite Noodles' enthusiasm for life, she is well-balanced and is quiet, cuddly, and calm in the home. She will lounge on her bed, curled under a blanket, for most of the day while I work, with a few short walks for potty breaks. We do 1-2 longer walks a day, which she seems to really enjoy. I would say she would thrive with someone who is fairly active. She would be happiest with at least one longer walk a day for stimulation and enrichment. We've done up to 2 miles together. She absolutely loved going to the beach, and the sand under her paws instantly spawned a zoomie session! Noodle loves mealtime and is food-motivated. Noodle is house-trained and will let you know she'd like to go outside. She does not have any separation issues and is good when left alone. Just curls up and sleeps till I come home. (Although she would love to go along with you!) Some FYIs: She loves car rides and lies down contentedly in the back seat. She responds well to her commands and has decent recall. I've only heard her bark once, joining another dog who was barking. No resource guarding—shares beautifully! Great mobility. Can do stairs and jump up/down on the couch/bed. Loves toys! Noodle would be a great companion for a busy family household, an active person, a couple, or a family. She would love another dog or dog/s in the home, but this isn't necessary. Anyone who wants a good, balanced dog with tons of love to give and laughter to incite would definitely be a good fit for this sweet girl.

Story
We got Max and Cheese from a breeder in December 2023, when he was still a puppy. From the start, he was gentle, curious, and very affectionate. He adjusted quickly to our home and routines and showed an easygoing, sweet nature right away. He likes being close, follows people from room to room, and is happiest when he’s near someone he trusts. As he’s grown, that sweetness has stayed consistent. He’s calm, attentive, and seems to sense when someone needs comfort. He doesn’t demand attention, but he’s always present. Over time, he became a steady part of daily life and a source of comfort for everyone in the house. After the divorce, our household became split, and our schedules changed in ways we didn’t anticipate. This transition has made it more difficult to consistently care for Max and Cheese and to provide the daily exercise and structure his breed benefits from. Coordinating time, energy, and responsibility across two households has been challenging.

Story
All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption fee: $700 Meet Beanie Baby, a 2–3 year old, 24 lb Boston Terrier mix who is truly the epitome of derpy charm. This sweet, calm little guy will snort and snore his way straight into your heart and happily stay there. Beanie Baby is the kind of dog who is content to do whatever you’re doing — as long as it includes a few reassuring pats and pets throughout the day.   Beanie Baby has a wonderfully easygoing personality. He isn’t demanding or pushy, and while he enjoys being around his people, he’s not a velcro dog. Most of the time, he snoozes peacefully in his dog bed, but every so often he’ll wander through the house to check in on each family member. If someone gets up, he may follow along out of curiosity, but never in an anxious or over-the-top way. He’s just making sure everyone is where they should be.   He has excellent house manners. Beanie Baby knows how to use a dog door and appears housebroken. He did mark a few spots during his first few days in foster care, likely where other male dogs had previously marked, but that behavior resolved quickly. For several days now he has had no accidents indoors and reliably goes outside, especially first thing in the morning, to take care of business.   A typical day with Beanie Baby starts around 8 AM. He heads out into the yard to do his business, enjoys a little breakfast, and then goes for a walk. After that, he settles in for a long, happy snooze while his people go about their day. He’s perfectly content sleeping nearby while you work on the computer, often parking himself right at your feet, or quietly hanging out in the yard while you do yardwork. In the evening, he enjoys another walk, dinner, and then bedtime around 10 PM. At night, he sleeps in a dog bed next to the bed and won’t wake up until you do.   On walks, Beanie Baby is a delight. He’s good on a leash, doesn’t pull, and isn’t reactive. He’s calm, steady, and happy to stroll along at an easy pace. He’s not particularly interested in toys, but he does enjoy gnawing on a bully stick from time to time.   One of his most endearing qualities is the little snorting sounds he makes when sniffing his food or searching for the perfect spot to potty. It’s impossible not to smile at his funny noises and his adorable little tongue that often sticks out. Beanie Baby can have some acute breathing issues (as brachiocephalic dogs often do) and his foster has learned that keeping a collar off him makes a big difference. Once the collar was removed and as the discomfort from his surgery subsided, his mood and energy level noticeably improved, revealing a brighter, happier dog underneath.   Beanie Baby is a mellow, affectionate, quietly hilarious companion who brings warmth and gentle joy wherever he goes. He doesn’t ask for much — just a comfortable place to nap, a couple of walks, and some loving reassurance throughout the day. Anyone lucky enough to welcome Beanie Baby into their home will gain a truly special little character and a loyal, lovable friend.January 6, 2026, 5:35 pm

Story
We love Grin's crooked smile  and his super-soft fur. Grin is about 8 years old and currently a bit over 16 pounds. He loves people and is super affectionate with his person; he loves to cuddle and would like a home where he is allowed in the family bed. That said, he is not needy and he is crate trained and will sleep quietly all night in his crate. &#226&#128&#139Grin seems like a cross between a Puggle (Pug/Beagle) and   another breed. He has some of the looks of a Puggle, but not all. Grin lives with 3 other dogs and is great with them. He plays well with his foster sisters and respects the senior dog in the house. He would do fine with other dogs, or as an only dog. He is house trained and knows how to use a dog door. Grin walks well on leash and is great on neighborhood walks where other dogs are also on leash. He will bark at off-leash dogs that run towards him, his foster is working on this and he is doing very well, but he would not at this time do well in off-leash dog parks. He is fine meeting new dogs in his home or their home, and has made friends with some dogs he has met on walks (the key is when their people give him treats). Grin would be fine in a home with older, dog-savvy kids. He is fine with visiting children. If you are looking for love,  Grin may be the guy you are looking for.   Grateful Dogs Rescue incurs substantial veterinary and other expenses in rescuing our dogs. In order to recoup some of these costs, we request a tax-deductible donation for each adoption. The suggested donation for Grin is $200. If you are interested in adopting Grin, please complete our online adoption application at https://www.gratefuldogsrescue.org/adoption-process/ . One of our volunteers will get back to you. Adoptions are local, confined to the SF Bay Area. See our other available dogs at  https://www.gratefuldogsrescue.org/available-dogs/ December 21, 2025, 3:38 pm

Story
We know you’ve come to Muttville to find the perfect addition to your family, but if you also think that your sleep could be better, we have a little lady here that may be able to help with both! Sweet senior Sally is a snug (short for snuggly pug) whose snorts, breathing, and other pug sounds make for a splendid ASMR soundtrack. While Sally won’t be competing in any races (unless it’s falling asleep the fastest, she’s a gold medalist in that one), she also enjoys toddling around to explore the outside world. Sally really shines as a lap warmer though, there’s nothing she’d like better than to cuddle near someone for a snooze, and maybe some gentle scratches. Could you use a Sally in your life? Here's some notes from her foster: Sally is such a great pup. She loves to snooze and snuggle and can be hilariously pushy about your cuddle position. She has been a mom and you can tell she is the boss and in charge. She's potty trained and has had no accidents. She's very efficient when we go outside. She loves her food and it's her favorite time other than her morning, afternoon and evening naps. She does breathe loud, snores and has the cutest little bark. She loves all people; friendly, tolerant and bossy with other dogs; and was very respectful to my aunts cat.

Story
Split Pea might sound like something that belongs in a soup, but this girl’s flavor is all personality and chaos in the best way. She’s a young senior with that classic Frenchie confidence and a snort you can hear from across the room. Her little gremlin face is ridiculously cute, and she knows it too. Split Pea is all about people, pets, and being the center of attention—if there’s love to be soaked up, she’s already on it. She’s got the kind of fun, unpredictable energy that keeps you laughing no matter what she’s doing. Think of her as part goofball, part cuddle bug, with enough charm to turn any dull day into an adventure.
