Story
We got Max and Cheese from a breeder in December 2023, when he was still a puppy. From the start, he was gentle, curious, and very affectionate. He adjusted quickly to our home and routines and showed an easygoing, sweet nature right away. He likes being close, follows people from room to room, and is happiest when he’s near someone he trusts. As he’s grown, that sweetness has stayed consistent. He’s calm, attentive, and seems to sense when someone needs comfort. He doesn’t demand attention, but he’s always present. Over time, he became a steady part of daily life and a source of comfort for everyone in the house. After the divorce, our household became split, and our schedules changed in ways we didn’t anticipate. This transition has made it more difficult to consistently care for Max and Cheese and to provide the daily exercise and structure his breed benefits from. Coordinating time, energy, and responsibility across two households has been challenging.

Story
I’m Cappuccino. I am a five-year-old, neutered, smooth coated Boston terrier mix with beautiful eyes. I am fully vaccinated and will be micro-chipped. I love to go to the beach and play in the water. Starbucks run anyone?? I LOVE getting Puppuccino’s! I’m a fun guy and love chasing around a laser. I will be your best friend, your cuddle bug and your protector. I’ll always try to make you smile when you’re sad. I am a loving pup, who enjoys being close with my human. I was raised with cats, however, after being attacked by a big dog, I am frightened by other dogs. I am reactive on the leash but hopefully you will get a trainer to teach me that I am SAFE. I am being rehomed because my mom works two jobs and I am very lonely. Will you be my new forever family? I can’t wait to meet you. See you soon! If we need to look something up later and you used a different email we are often not able to find it. 2. Adopt a Pet and Petfinders ask you to send us an enquiry. This always delays our response. We are a small non-profit and do not always have the help to answer as many enquiries as we get. c. Again our Biographies are very detailed and if you just click the link near the bottom of their bio you can fill out an application which we will respond to. 3. Story
All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption fee: $700 Meet Beanie Baby, a 2–3 year old, 24 lb Boston Terrier mix who is truly the epitome of derpy charm. This sweet, calm little guy will snort and snore his way straight into your heart and happily stay there. Beanie Baby is the kind of dog who is content to do whatever you’re doing — as long as it includes a few reassuring pats and pets throughout the day.   Beanie Baby has a wonderfully easygoing personality. He isn’t demanding or pushy, and while he enjoys being around his people, he’s not a velcro dog. Most of the time, he snoozes peacefully in his dog bed, but every so often he’ll wander through the house to check in on each family member. If someone gets up, he may follow along out of curiosity, but never in an anxious or over-the-top way. He’s just making sure everyone is where they should be.   He has excellent house manners. Beanie Baby knows how to use a dog door and appears housebroken. He did mark a few spots during his first few days in foster care, likely where other male dogs had previously marked, but that behavior resolved quickly. For several days now he has had no accidents indoors and reliably goes outside, especially first thing in the morning, to take care of business.   A typical day with Beanie Baby starts around 8 AM. He heads out into the yard to do his business, enjoys a little breakfast, and then goes for a walk. After that, he settles in for a long, happy snooze while his people go about their day. He’s perfectly content sleeping nearby while you work on the computer, often parking himself right at your feet, or quietly hanging out in the yard while you do yardwork. In the evening, he enjoys another walk, dinner, and then bedtime around 10 PM. At night, he sleeps in a dog bed next to the bed and won’t wake up until you do.   On walks, Beanie Baby is a delight. He’s good on a leash, doesn’t pull, and isn’t reactive. He’s calm, steady, and happy to stroll along at an easy pace. He’s not particularly interested in toys, but he does enjoy gnawing on a bully stick from time to time.   One of his most endearing qualities is the little snorting sounds he makes when sniffing his food or searching for the perfect spot to potty. It’s impossible not to smile at his funny noises and his adorable little tongue that often sticks out. Beanie Baby can have some acute breathing issues (as brachiocephalic dogs often do) and his foster has learned that keeping a collar off him makes a big difference. Once the collar was removed and as the discomfort from his surgery subsided, his mood and energy level noticeably improved, revealing a brighter, happier dog underneath.   Beanie Baby is a mellow, affectionate, quietly hilarious companion who brings warmth and gentle joy wherever he goes. He doesn’t ask for much — just a comfortable place to nap, a couple of walks, and some loving reassurance throughout the day. Anyone lucky enough to welcome Beanie Baby into their home will gain a truly special little character and a loyal, lovable friend.January 6, 2026, 5:35 pm

Story
Meet Calvin, a one-year-old Boston Terrier sweetheart whos looking for a soft place to land and a family to adore. Calvin is a little different from other dogshe has a neurologic condition that gives him an adorable head tilt, some facial tremors, and a unique wobbly way of standing and walking. But what hasnt changed is his gentle, affectionate, people-loving personality. Calvin is happiest when hes right beside you. Hell gladly hobble over for cuddles, settle in next to you during the workday, or soak up all the pets youre willing to give. Despite his limited mobility, hes fully potty trained and patiently waits for his outdoor breaks. Hes been blossoming more every day in foster care and is starting to show just how sweet and trusting he truly is. Calvin would thrive in a calm home where he can relax, be carried when needed, and spend his days near his humans. Hes low maintenance, incredibly loving, and just wants to be someones special little companion. If youre looking for a tender, gentle soul to share your heart and home with, Calvin will be the perfect match.
