Story
If interested in Rudy, apply here: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/CPAR/Dog Rudy is a 1 year old, 30 lb underdog with a whole lot of heart. He was found as a young, motherless puppy wandering near a school in Puerto Rico, completely on his own. Despite a rough start, Rudy has grown into a loyal, affectionate dog who forms strong bonds with his person and loves being close. Rudy thrives in a calm, predictable environment and would do best as the only pet in the home. He is looking for an adult-only household without cats or other dogs, where he can truly be the star and focus on building a deep, trusting relationship with his adopter. Once Rudy feels safe, his sweet side shines. He enjoys attention, cuddles, and being near his person, and he’s happiest when he knows exactly who his people are. He will do best with someone patient, consistent, and willing to continue helping him build confidence. Rudy’s dream is simple — a forever home where he’s loved, understood, and never overlooked again. Rudy is being fostered in Perry Hall, MD. PLEASE READ: Any dog that is house or potty trained will still need patience in a new home with new people and a new schedule. Please be ready to train ANY dog you adopt! Also, please understand we can not guarantee breed or full grown size of any young dog or puppy. Thank you for understanding.

Story
Meet Ian – Your Slightly Wonky, Totally Wonderful Adventure Buddy If you like piña coladas and getting caught in the rain… Ian might just be your perfect match. This little Boston Terrier mix lives life full throttle—zooming through the yard like he’s racing in the Indy 500, making pit stops in imaginary swamps with Shrek, and embracing every muddy, joy-filled moment along the way (bonus points if you don’t mind getting a little dirty with him). Ian is a young, playful pup with a heart as big as his personality. He came into rescue with a shattered hip that has since healed, leaving him with an adorable “wonky” gait. When he runs, his back leg sometimes flails out to the side—but it doesn’t slow him down one bit. If anything, it just makes him even more unforgettable. Personality & Play Style: Ian is a social, toy-loving goofball who thrives on fun. He always has a toy in his mouth—seriously, always. He’ll take them outside, bring them back in, and politely “check” them at the door until you hand them back. He loves playing with other dogs, especially games of chase and keep-away. After playtime, Ian enjoys winding down with his favorite toy and appreciates a little personal space during his chill time. Because of this, he’d do best with a laid-back, respectful dog companion—especially one around his size or slightly smaller who won’t bother him when he’s relaxing. Snuggles Included: Once the zoomies are out, Ian is all about couch time. He’ll curl up beside you, toy in tow, and drift off while you watch TV. The perfect mix of playful and snuggly. Communication Style (aka his signature move): Ian has the best voice—a raspy, screechy, baby pterodactyl sound that he proudly uses to let you know when he’s ready to come out of his crate or needs a potty break. It’s hilarious, endearing, and very effective. He’ll also quietly go sit by the door, so keep an eye out—he’s a good boy who just needs you to notice his polite signals. Mealtime & Care: Ian is an enthusiastic foodie, so he uses a slow feeder bowl to keep mealtime safe and comfortable. Medical Transparency: Due to his past injury, Ian has diabetes insipidus. The good news: • No injections required • Managed with oral medication twice daily • Just needs a few extra potty breaks His condition is well-managed, and he’s living a happy, active, zoomie-filled life. The Perfect Home for Ian: • An active home that enjoys play, laughter, and a little chaos • A consistent adopter who can manage his simple medical routine • A respectful dog companion—or he’d love being your one and only • Someone who appreciates a quirky, lovable personality Ian isn’t just a dog—he’s an experience. He’ll make you laugh daily, keep life interesting, and then curl up next to you like he’s always belonged there. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)

This animal is a Courtesy Post. We are working with the owner to rehome Frankie & Nori. These 2 must be adopted TOGETHER!The owner would like for you to still submit an application with us to adopt Frankie & Nori. The Furry Paws Foster Inn cannot guarantee the vetting that the owner has done for Frankie & Nori and it would be up to the new adopter to obtain these records from the current owner.Below you will find the bio for Frankie & Nori by the owner:Frankie is a very loving, caring, and nosy pup! He will eat absolutely anything, and sleeps 90% of the time. He LOVES playing with his bff Nori (his brother, a jack russell mix.) he’s completely house trained and will let you know when he needs to use the bathroom as he stands by the door. He does destroy his toys, so I suggest rope or hard bones!Nori is the most loyal, sweetest boy. It genuinely breaks my heart to rehome him. He listens well and always wants attention and pets. He loves being pet, but most of all LOVES tennis balls that squeak, please buy him some. He loves naps with his brother (frankie, a boston terrier also up for adoption with him.)Nori is skiddish of loud noises especially when things are dropped. These 2 must be adopted TOGETHER!Owner notes both animals are fixed and current on Rabies & Bordetella.

Story
Name: Oswald Sex: Male Estimated Age: About 4 months old (as of 4/22) Best Guess for Breed: Boston Terrier Mix Weight: About 18 lbs (as of 4/22) Lives With: Dogs, kids and all people! Housebroken? He’s working on his potty training and making great progress! Rescued from: Alabama Story: Oswald (or Ozzy, as we’ve been calling him) is a spunky, adorable little guy. He is a dark brindle with some white patches, and a unique little black-and-pink nose. Ozzy loves to follow his humans around the house and see what they’re up to— he likes to be a part of whatever may be going on. He loves our toy box and pulling all of his toys out, one by one. He is pretty good about knowing what he’s allowed to chew on (what is a toy vs. what is not), but he is still learning that slippers, although fuzzy, are not toys. Regular shoes have been safe in our house, though! As far as obedience training goes, he knows “sit” and “paw”. He is still learning how to walk on the leash but has made fantastic progress in a short time. He has also made impressive progress in house training! He will bark at you to alert that he needs to go out— he’s still a puppy, but as long as you follow his cues that he needs to go outside, accidents are easily avoided. He does well in his crate overnight, quickly settling in to his blankies and falling asleep. He’s not very fond of being in the crate when he can hear people still in the house yet— he will cry for a short time but is making progress and learning to settle himself. Finally, the best part about Ozzy is his affection! He LOVES to snuggle. If we are on the couch, he is asking for “uppies” (“please pick me up and put me on the couch with you!”). It’s very cute— he is easily able to jump up on the couch by himself, but he prefers to perch up on the edge of the couch and wait to be lifted up. He quickly snuggles up next to you, either nuzzling his nose into you wherever it will fit, or resting his head on your chest to gaze up at you. It’s been very sweet having such a snuggly, loving puppy in the house! The fee to adopt Oswald is $475. That covers the cost of all his vaccines, the collar he’s wearing, his transport to DC and his care in his foster home. He’s up to date on all age appropriate vaccines. If you think that Oswald might be your perfect match, apply today!May 20, 2026, 8:39 am

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us! Taylor is one of the bestest girls!! She has a bladder problem that cannot be surgically corrected, she could wear diapers but she absolutely hates them and we are not going to make her. Taylor LOVES to give kisses and LOVES to receive pets and attention. Taylor loves playing so another dog would be ideal for her :) REQUIRES - Fenced Yard, Another dog Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not. A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!
