You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :)When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :)Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!My name is Taylor.  I came to the ranch when I was 7 weeks old and have been here for almost 2 years.  I have a bladder problem that cannot be surgically corrected.  I could wear diapers but I absolutely hate them!!  Here at the ranch I do not have to wear a diaper because they mop and steam floors several times a day but I drip and they don't make me feel bad about it :)I may spend my life here but if I do I will be loved and accepted even though I can't hold my bladder :) I love to give kisses and recieve pets!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.   A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!April 14, 2025, 10:17 am

Story
Hello to all, I’m Nina, a 5 year old, approx. 20# Boston Terrier like NO OTHER! Retired from life of breeding, I’ve had my fill of other dogs both “male” (fur sure) and female. My pups were great but always taken from me over, and over and over again causing me to say “Enough is Enough” with other dogs (No Cats too). I MUST BE your ONE AND ONLY! NO way shape or form can I be near another dog, live with, befriend or even have access to another dog so a GOOD STURDY FENCE required for my adoption. NO EXCEPTIONS. On the “FLIP SIDE”, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, can’t say it enough, LOVE ALL PEOPLE from little crawly smelly dirty diaper tikes to gray haired old fogies, grumpy seniors. I DON’T CARE, I’ll love them to the end of the world and back! Talk about being STUCK TO YOUR HIP? Well, I’m a definite VELCRO GAL! You go upstairs, I go upstairs, down, I do down, in/out, whatever.. I’m there for you CONTANTLY a companion to give love, kisses and a smile on my face to MAKE YOUR DAY as you Faithful Companion! Described as a “Cuddle Bug”, curling up with my person ANYTIME is where it’s at. Being a Boston Gal, I do have a bubbly personality that is comical at times, but also calm, cool and mature to enjoy lap time. If you think you’d want to “CUDDLE UP WITH ME” shoot Molly’s Place and e mail to meet me, NINA, a gal that can’t stand other dogs, but makes up for it with all love directed to her person/people! To submit an adoption application, visit mollysplacerescue.org. Fill the form out completely, print, scan and email back to mollysplace@verizon.net. You must obtain pre-approval prior to visiting the dog or cat. Adoptions fees include the following:    spay/neuter surgery,  microchip and registration,  age appropriate vaccinations,  initial dewormings,  Activyl for fleas,  tested for FeLV and FIV (cats only),  bubble bath prior to going home (dogs only) WE do not "HOLD" animals without an approved application and a non-refundable/non-transferable paid adoption fee.  Adoptions are on a first come, first serve basis.  We can not send extra pictures.  WE do not ship, you must pick up the pet.  Kitties must be transported in a secure cat carrier.   Pooches require a "martingale" collar and a non-retractable leash. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 5, 2025, 9:09 pm

Story
"Hi! Nice to meet you! My name is Amaryllis, but my people call me Amari! I am 3 years old. I was surrendered from a commercial breeding kennel that no longer had room for me. I love my foster dad! He's a really cool guy who gives me treats, takes me for walks, and is teaching me to play with toys! I am still learning to trust new people, and it takes me a little while to warm up. I would benefit from being in an adoptive family who will partner with a positive reinforcement, fear free trainer to help me build my confidence. I am quiet in my crate, and I don't have accidents in there. I've been doing very well potty training! I'm still new at it, so I'll need some reminders and frequent potty breaks at first. If I do have accidents after adoption, I'll get back on track in no time. I am not so sure about other dogs. I've done well with some of the ones I've met, but I've also decided that I don't like some of them. I make up my mind quickly and I stick to my decision if I don't like them. I am a lazy girl, my favorite thing to do is lounge in a sunny spot, or curl up with my foster dad. I am perfectly satisfied to take a few short walks a day, or do a couple laps around the fenced yard. I cannot be trusted off leash, as I like to wander away. I do like to chase a ball a few times, but I'd rather snuggle in the house! I am looking for a home where I can be the only dog or where there is the right dog friend. I would do best in a home with no kids, or with older kids who know boundaries with dogs. I'm still learning that people are safe, and little kiddos might be too scary for me. Most importantly, I am looking for someone to spoil me with treats, cuddles, and love! If you think I sound like your next best friend, please send in an application to adopt me!!" Amaryllis is being fostered in Southern Lancaster County and interested adopters must come to her foster home twice. The first visit is a meet and greet with all the members of the household including existing dogs in the home. The second visit is to take her home. Amaryllis is spayed, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and has been routinely treated with parasite preventatives. Amaryllis has a stress induced heart murmur. When she is calm it is not detectible, but if she becomes very afraid or upset it may be present. It is not anticipated to be a threat to her health. The murmur was noted at a low grade during her initial intake exam, and then was not detected at her follow up appointment. Go online to www.zoeshouserescue.com and complete an adoption application! We do not always receive applications submitted through adoptapet or petfinder. Kennel license 9117 PO box 2372 Reading pa 19608

Story
Age: 11 months Size: 35 lbs Estimated breed: Boston Terrier/Cattle Dog mix (among many other breeds, according to her DNA results!) Lives with: Dogs, one very dog-savvy cat. She prefers a home with no kids or cats/small animals   Lucy is an 10-month old Boston terrier mix, whose personality far outweighs her size. She came to live with us when she was just a few weeks old after being rescued in Texas. In the time Lucy has been with us, we have watched her grow into herself. And what a character she has become!    Lucy lives with two other canine friends and a cat. Her and the cat have a mutual understanding. They are not exactly friends, but they respect each other's privacy (for the most part). As far as her canine siblings, Lucy has a strong bond with our Bernese Mountain mix (Sammy).    Sammy and Lucy have been friends since the start. It's quite the combination with Lucy being all of maybe 30 lbs to Sammy's 90 lbs. Rough play is the order of the day, with Lucy regularly ending up airborne after Sammy decides he's had enough and tosses her out of the way. Lucy, not one to give up easily, comes back for more and more. This cycle continues until Lucy tires out and heads to her crate or the couch to rest.   Speaking of crates, Lucy is crate trained and does very will with in. In fact, she usually goes in on her own when she wants alone time, or when we get ready to wind down our evening. Lucy is also excellent with being house broken and accidents are few if any in recent months.   Lucy is very independent and thinks she's a BIG dog. She is a bit headstrong with leash training, and also has a very active prey drive. If Lucy sees a squirrel or other small critter, she gets pretty excited and it is tough to break her focus.    Lucy would do best in a home with another large canine companion and a fenced yard. She loves her big brother Sammy and often cuddles with him when they tire out after their backyard wrestling matches. She looks to him constantly for entertainment, reducing some of the burden on us.   We are proud of the young lady Lucy has become. If you are looking for a smaller dog with the heart of a big dog and have the time to work with her, Lucy would love to meet you!   To adopt Lucy, please apply on our website! https://www.nirvanaanimalrescue.org/adoption-application   Please note we cannot guarantee the age or breed of any of our animals. All of our dogs are working on their crate and house training.   PA Kennel License #18366 May 15, 2025, 4:53 pm

Story
Bandit, came to us along with Buddy and Hershey because their owner had stage 4 lung cancer and could no longer care for them. She's super scared and sweet and you just want to help her. The man kept these dogs in crates for seven years. Everything is over stimulation for her. Overall she’s doing very well considering her entire world has been erased and there's so much around new to get used to. She is very very sweet. I believe she’s half bull dog—she has the bull dog snort. She weighs 38 lbs. She lived with other dogs in her life ---both males and females and she lived another male and a cat in her foster home. At first she wasn’t overly friendly with the dogs here but has adjusted after a slow introduction. Bandit is spayed, up to date with vaccinations, and microchipped. She is also housetrained. She is also missing one eye, which causes her no problem. If interested in Bandit contact applications@boxertransfer.org
