Story
Bandit, came to us along with Buddy and Hershey because their owner had stage 4 lung cancer and could no longer care for them. She's super scared and sweet and you just want to help her. The man kept these dogs in crates for seven years. Everything is over stimulation for her. Overall she’s doing very well considering her entire world has been erased and there's so much around new to get used to. She is very very sweet. I believe she’s half bull dog—she has the bull dog snort. She weighs 38 lbs. She lived with other dogs in her life ---both males and females and she lived another male and a cat in her foster home. At first she wasn’t overly friendly with the dogs here but has adjusted after a slow introduction. Bandit is spayed, up to date with vaccinations, and microchipped. She is also housetrained. She is also missing one eye, which causes her no problem. If interested in Bandit contact applications@boxertransfer.org

This handsome boy came all the way from Tennessee to find his forever home. After less than 24hrs in a foster home he is doing amazing! Read what his foster mom has to say about him: "I just wanted to let you know, this guy is really a smarty pants.  His separation anxiety has already decreased so significantly, INCLUDING the fact that he loves his crate now.  The first night I thought I was in serious trouble but now he's taking naps like a champ, sleeping all the way through the night and his potty training is going so well.  It's only been a day since we connected but he's just an amazing little dude and just a sponge with learning the behaviors of my senior pup and 2.5 yr old pup." Get your application in fast! This little guy is sure to get scooped up soon!Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.    Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.       Foster Program: Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home. For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/ or email our Foster Coordinator at foster@k-9lifesavers.org.Sponsor Me! Annabelle and Albert are a bonded pair of pure bred Boston Terrier siblings that have spent their entire lives together. Sadly, their owner passed away and they are looking for a loving adopter who will take them both. They are house and crate trained, although they can get a bit vocal when crated and it’s not necessarily required. They are good with other dogs, but they can get a bit nervous around bigger dogs who don’t give them their space. Their ideal home would be a calmer one and they love attention and snuggling. Annabelle is fond of carrying her ball around and she loves to play. For all you Boston Terrier lovers, Annabelle and Albert could be your perfect match! Story
Meet Russell's Viper, or R.V. for short, who arrived in VA in less than perfect condition. But within a few days, he started feeling much better and adjusted comfortably to his new surroundings. Now, he spends peaceful nights sleeping in his crate. As he settled into his new environment, R.V. transformed into a healthy and happy pup. He is extremely friendly and adores spending time with people, dogs, and children. His favorite activities include playing with his toys, observing people, and going for refreshing walks. And once he's done, he loves snuggling up on the sofa with his forever family, resting in their laps. R.V.'s energy level is generally calm, but he has enough activity to keep everyone smiling and ready for an adventure. He enjoys rough housing with his siblings, going on outings, and meeting new people. If you're looking for a sweet pup to add joy to your life, don't hesitate to fill out a meet and greet form for R.V. today. You won't be disappointed!  Visit https://www.wtarescue.com/adoption-process-2 to submit both a "Meet and Greet" and "Adoption Application."  In-person transfer date: September 29th at the Petsmart in Tysons Corner between 12:30-1:00 PM. All adopters must attend in order to finalize the adoption paperwork. ##1791936##
