Story
• Rescue Story: Meet Moana👋🏻 She was found wandering the streets of Paju, South Korea in 2022. She ended up at a high-kill shelter but was thankfully rescued just in time. Since then, she’s been living in a private shelter with many other dogs, charming everyone with her affectionate personality. Now, she’s ready to find a forever family of her own! • Personality: Affectionate, Friendly, Goofy Moana is truly one of a kind. She quickly won the hearts of volunteers with her gentle, loving nature. She follows people around like a little shadow, happily greeting everyone—even strangers—with tail wags and affection. Moana thrives on human interaction and loves tug-of-war, belly rubs, and being the center of attention. Her energy level is moderate, making her a great balance of playful and calm. • Affinity with - Dogs: Moana is incredibly social—not just with people, but with dogs, too. She’s often the first to welcome new arrivals at the shelter, helping them feel safe and at ease. While she would thrive as the only dog in the home, Moana also does best with calm dog companions. - Cats: Not tested with cats - Adults/Kids: Great with adults / She hasn’t been tested with cats or kids, but based on her gentle demeanor, we believe she’d do well with respectful children. • Walking Manners: Moana has also started practicing her leash skills and is doing great! She may pull a little at times, but overall, she walks well and is eager to please. • Housetrained: As she’s lived in a shelter, Moana will need some house-training in a home setting. • Bathing/Brushing: She’s tolerant of baths and grooming. • Car Sickness: She’s curious and alert during car rides, taking in the world around her. • Separation Anxiety: Zero. • Barks/Howls: Very quiet • Appetite/Food Allergies: Eats well. No food allergies found so far. • Shedding level (1~10): 5 • Likes/Dislikes: She loves affection & treats! • Health: Moana finished her heartworm treatment in Oct 2024 and is in great health. She underwent successful surgery for an inguinal hernia in Mar 2025 and has fully recovered. She has a clean bill of health and is ready for her new adventure! (Her two front bottom teeth are missing) 💙 Adoption Fee Information The adoption fee already includes all major expenses, such as: International transportation, Customs and export documentation, Medical care (spay surgery, vaccinations, health certificate, deworming, etc.) For this reason, we kindly ask that you refrain from requesting a breakdown or negotiation of the adoption fee. Your support directly helps us continue rescuing and caring for dogs in need, and we sincerely appreciate your understanding.

Story
Missy (previously named Anise) was found as a stray and brought to the Associated Humane Society of Newark. She struggled in the shelter environment, but clearly lived in a home. Despite the stress, she bonded to the staff of the shelter and welcomed love and attention. She is estimated to be about 6 years old and is 14 pounds. Missy is a special needs dog. She has had some medical issues since coming to Peace Pointe. First she had a lump removed, but thankfully the biopsy was good and it was benign! Phew. Sadly, after her first foster-to-adopt family fell through, she experienced sudden blindness… This poor little lady had to see an Ophthalmologist and it was determined she has an autoimmune disease (not contagious to other dogs) called Panuveitis. She is currently on steroids, and we will know more about her long term prognosis after this treatment. She is set to revisit the doctor on 4/22. We will update you via social media as soon as we know more. Please give us a follow on Instagram and/or facebook to follow her very unfair journey… Despite the sudden blindness, she is very active and excitable! She loves listening to the birds, riding in the car, cuddling on the couch, guarding the front door from squirrel invaders, and playing with toys. Missy walks very excitedly on the leash, and wants to meet most people who pass her by. She loves to cuddle with you, and like a typical terrier likes to dig and snuffle in your lap or on the couch. She could go home with a compatible pup. Before the blindness, we said she could not go home to cats or small animals because she would chase, and had a prey drive. Obviously this changes things a bit, so we believe it is possible to live with a cat who could evade her or gently correct her. She is housebroken and doesn't mind her crate, in fact it is her safe space. Missy has an adorable underbite! Missy is a tough but sweet cookie looking for a second chance at life with a family who will cherish her and understand her terrier-ness and special needs. She would do best in a home that can provide her with structure and routine. She can be a dominant girl, and would ideally go home with a compatible pup that can keep up with her, and help her navigate the new world she suddenly finds herself in. Missy is currently in a foster home in Atlantic Highlands, NJ. Because of her sudden blindness, we are no longer considering a foster-to-adopt situation. It is not fair to make her learn a new environment if it is only temporary. We are happy to do any meet and greets, and certainly multiple meet ups in necessary, but we want to place her into a permanent home going forward so that she only needs to learn one new environment from here on out. Are you the special family willing to give her this opportunity at a normal and cherished life? To set up a meet and greet - e-mail Info@peacepointe.com

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Kaya! Kaya is in NJ and officially available for adoption after 5/22! This tiny Boston Terrier/Shih Tzu mix may only weigh a few pounds, but her personality is absolutely huge. She’s a happy, affectionate little shadow who loves every person and dog she meets and believes attention should be available to her at all times. Friendly, confident, and endlessly loving, Kaya hands out kisses freely and makes fast friends wherever she goes. Kaya is playful and curious, spending her days bouncing between naps, toys, sticks, and playtime with humans or other dogs. One of her favorite activities is sitting in the toy basket and tossing toys out one by one. She’s also learning fetch and loves exploring the world on walks, even if she needs plenty of sniff breaks along the way. When she decides she’s done walking, she’ll dramatically plop onto the ground and refuse to move — luckily she’s easy to scoop up! She is dog-friendly, kid-friendly, and enjoys snuggling and playing with other pups of all sizes. Kaya sleeps through the night but still needs frequent potty breaks during the day and one overnight trip outside to help prevent accidents in her crate. She’s continuing to work on potty training and puppy manners. Kaya is not a fan of being crated while her people are nearby and will definitely do best with a family ready for all the love, attention, and puppy antics that come with a young Velcro pup. Kaya rides well in the car, loves toys and chew sticks, and is happiest when surrounded by her people or canine friends. If you’re looking for a sweet, silly, affectionate little companion who will keep you laughing and loved, Kaya may be your perfect match! She is up to date on her vaccines and will be altered. Her adoption donation is $550.    - Adopting an animal is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. After all these animal have been through they deserve a loving, committed home. How to Adopt Me! If you are interested in learning more about me, and possibly making me part of your family, please go to  wag-on-inn.com .
