Story
Hi, my name is Charlie! I'm a 1yr old Boston Terrier weighing in at just 13lbs. I'm a playful guy who has lived with large dogs, small dogs, cats....and I'm great with all of them! I love to play and wrestle with other dogs, and I actually really love bigger dogs in particular! When it comes to people, I can be a little bit shy at first. Once I get to know you, I love to snuggle, but I need to know that I'm safe with you first. I'd really love to find a patient family who can help me find my confidence. I am really good in the crate and can hang out in there while youre at work. I am still working on a few other things, though, like housetraining and walking on the leash. I like to use the doggy door in my current foster home, and if you have a fenced yard, that would make me very happy! I haven't met any kids, so I think Id prefer a quieter home with adults for now. I promise that I have a lot of love to give and we'll have a great time together! Could you be my new family? Fill out the adoption application, and let's find out! https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/ZIVA/Dog

Story
• Rescue Story: Meet Moana👋🏻 She was found wandering the streets of Paju, South Korea in 2022. She ended up at a high-kill shelter but was thankfully rescued just in time. Since then, she’s been living in a private shelter with many other dogs, charming everyone with her affectionate personality. Now, she’s ready to find a forever family of her own! • Personality: Affectionate, Friendly, Goofy Moana is truly one of a kind. She quickly won the hearts of volunteers with her gentle, loving nature. She follows people around like a little shadow, happily greeting everyone—even strangers—with tail wags and affection. Moana thrives on human interaction and loves tug-of-war, belly rubs, and being the center of attention. Her energy level is moderate, making her a great balance of playful and calm. • Affinity with - Dogs: Moana is incredibly social—not just with people, but with dogs, too. She’s often the first to welcome new arrivals at the shelter, helping them feel safe and at ease. While she would thrive as the only dog in the home, Moana also does best with calm dog companions. - Cats: Not tested with cats - Adults/Kids: Great with adults / She hasn’t been tested with cats or kids, but based on her gentle demeanor, we believe she’d do well with respectful children. • Walking Manners: Moana has also started practicing her leash skills and is doing great! She may pull a little at times, but overall, she walks well and is eager to please. • Housetrained: As she’s lived in a shelter, Moana will need some house-training in a home setting. • Bathing/Brushing: She’s tolerant of baths and grooming. • Car Sickness: She’s curious and alert during car rides, taking in the world around her. • Separation Anxiety: Zero. • Barks/Howls: Very quiet • Appetite/Food Allergies: Eats well. No food allergies found so far. • Shedding level (1~10): 5 • Likes/Dislikes: She loves affection & treats! • Health: Moana finished her heartworm treatment in Oct 2024 and is in great health. She underwent successful surgery for an inguinal hernia in Mar 2025 and has fully recovered. She has a clean bill of health and is ready for her new adventure! (Her two front bottom teeth are missing) 💙 Adoption Fee Information The adoption fee already includes all major expenses, such as: International transportation, Customs and export documentation, Medical care (spay surgery, vaccinations, health certificate, deworming, etc.) For this reason, we kindly ask that you refrain from requesting a breakdown or negotiation of the adoption fee. Your support directly helps us continue rescuing and caring for dogs in need, and we sincerely appreciate your understanding.

Story
Meet Wilma! 🐾 This gorgeous Boston Terrier mix is a 2 year old, 30 pound bundle of personality looking for her forever home. Wilma was found as a stray and brought to NYC ACC, but she's left her shelter days behind and is ready for a fresh start with a family of her own. Wilma is incredibly smart and loves to learn. She's house trained, crate trained, walks beautifully on a loose leash, and already knows an impressive list of cues including sit, down, paw, crate, and roll over. She's playful and fun loving, but also has an independent side and is perfectly happy entertaining herself with a toy or chew. In the home, Wilma is quiet and not vocal, making her an easy companion to live with. She loves affection from her people and enjoys snuggling up after a day of adventures. While she's friendly, she prefers slower introductions with new people and appreciates being given time to build trust at her own pace. Wilma is looking for a home where she can be the center of attention, as she would do best as the only dog. In return, she'll reward her family with endless love, loyalty, and plenty of laughs. Could Wilma be the missing piece your family has been waiting for? Wilma is microchipped, up-to-date on core vaccines, and spayed. Story
Meet Winifred  Winifred is a 5-year-old Boston Terrier with the sweetest soul and a gentle heart. She came to us as a breeder surrender and is learning what it means to feel safe, loved, and confident. At first she can be shy and cautious, but with patience and kindness she truly blossoms. Winnie enjoys calm environments, cozy naps, and taking things at her own pace. She’s been making beautiful progress every day, celebrating small victories like going up and down the stairs on her own or walking more confidently on the streets. She would thrive in a home that understands her past, respects her boundaries, and is excited to watch her continue to grow. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will bond deeply and reward you with constant affection, Winifred might be your perfect match. Winifred has a deeply affectionate personality and can form a strong bond with her person very quickly. Once she trusts you, she’ll happily follow you everywhere. As she leaves her fear behind, her true self is starting to shine: she’s becoming more curious, playful, and confident each day. Beneath her gentle nature is a growing energetic spirit, and she’s on her way to becoming a dog who will love plenty of exercise, long walks, and active adventures with her future family. Winifred is highly possessive of her person and cannot live with other pets. She was involved in a serious altercation with another dog in the home, and for everyone’s safety she must be placed as the only pet. Winifred will do best in a household where she is the sole focus and does not have to share people or space with other animals. She is a low-shedding dog and is very well-behaved indoors: she does not destroy furniture or belongings. She is not fully potty trained yet, as she is just beginning to go outside on walks, but she is making progress. With consistency, patience, and continued training, she is expected to quickly get the hang of it. Energy Level (1= calm, 10= high energy): 6Barker? Or Quiet Pup?: very quiet pupWalking Manners: she is just learning to trust the outside world, but so far her walks on the leash are great; she doesn't pull at all and loves to sniff everythingAppetite: enjoys all her meals and is always ready for treats!Favorite Things: tender love and care from her humansCommands/Tricks: none yet, but she's working on it ALL adoptions require a completed application and final contract. The application can be found at  WaldosRescue.org and once you are approved to adopt you will be put in touch with the foster to see if it’s a good match. We are a RESCUE not a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We are unable to contact every applicant for every dog.  We will select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dogs needs. Waldos Rescue Pen is a 501c3 whose primary focus is rescuing dogs from the euthanasia list from high kill shelters throughout the United States and Korea. ##2636501##

Story
Zippy - 8 months & 16lbs, Terrier Mix, Neutered Expected Full Grown Size Around 23lbs  This puppy is eligible to join our foster-to-adopt program. Please email fostertoadopt@socialteesnyc.org with the animal’s name in the subject line if you are interested! Want to straight up adopt? Submit an adoption application at socialteesnyc.org Level of dog ownership experience required:INTERMEDIATE – As an adult, this dog will need significant structure and plenty of daily exercise, training, and mental stimulation – 90 consecutive minutes of movement in the morning plus potty break walks and brain games throughout the day. The adopter must have relevant primary care experience with a similar breed, temperament, and/or energy level. (Primary care experience includes ownership, fostering, or dog sitting as an adult, not a dog you grew up with.) Relevant puppy care experience is a huge plus, but bare minimum the adopter must have TONS of time and patience. Raising a puppy can be a lot of fun, but it’s also  tremendous work. Puppies’ personalities and exercise/stimulation requirements change dramatically between now and when they’re a year old as their bodies and brains develop, so an active lifestyle and the ability to adapt to a pup’s evolving needs are a must. We strongly urge professional dog training with a rewards based trainer from the get go. Adults only or kids ages 8 and up – all puppies go through a mouthy, rambunctious phase and often accidentally hurt children when playing. PLEASE DO YOUR OWN BREED RESEARCH to make sure you have a better understanding of the kind of temperament and exercise requirements this dog may have as an adult. His Foster Says: Zippy is one of the most well rounded pups I have fostered! She is a super playful girl who loves to go on an adventure AND loves a cuddle at home or a nap in her crate. Zippy is still working on potty training but having minimal accidents inside. She absolutely adores interacting with other dogs and is still learning social cues but is doing great so far! Zippy is able to sleep the whole night in her crate and is fine being left for up to 5 hours during the day (given she had a good long walk beforehand) Her training so far is incredible as she is SUPER food motivated. Energy level:Medium – Needs a daily 60-90 minute morning walk or window of quick paced exercise in addition to potty break strolls (10-30 min each). Also needs significant opportunities to socialize outside the home and mental stimulation at home like tricks training practice, chew items, and puzzle toys. (This is regardless of dog size – many small breeds were designed for lots of activity and will exhibit unwanted behavior when they’re understimulated.) Tolerance to the city:City pup – Seems unfazed by the sights and sounds, may as well have been born here. Potty trained?Sort of -- On the way and learning! May be using wee pads (is a puppy or a brand new rescue)Currently she is only having pee accidents inside. Social with dogs?Mostly – Generally good with other dogs but may be selective (scared of big dogs or plays too rough for small dogs, for example)She hasn’t played with a smaller dog yet and is still learning social cues, otherwise LOVES dogs Comfort level with strangers:In between bean – Fine with meeting new people but not particularly interested, kind of shy in busy social situations like a gathering or a packed day in the park.Seems slightly more hesitant with men but overcomes it with a little bit of time Social with children?  (ALWAYS requires adult supervision) Maybe for age 12 and up – Is either big and energetic (okay with kids big enough not to get knocked down) or a little skittish (could be comfortable with older children that can be extra gentle) Respectful behavior with other animals (cats, small pets, etc.)Not sure – Wants to chase squirrels and birds so may not be a good match for a home with cats, rabbits, etc. Mouthy play: Working on it – Is respectful of hands, feet, etc. but likes to chew on things they’re not supposed to like shoes, furniture, etc. Separation anxiety:Past this stage – Completely fine being left home alone. Doesn’t cry or exhibit destructive behavior when you leave the apartment or house in her crate :) Leash manners:Getting the hang of it – Probably hasn’t been on a leash much in their life but figuring it out. Might be a mild puller but responds to correction. Crate trained?Yep/mostly – Seems comfortable in the crate, may whine a little at first but settles pretty quickly. We use the crate when we leave the pup alone and/or at night. CUDDLE BUG LEVELHigh – Wants to be in your lap pretty much all the time Jumping on people to say hello Listens to correction – Only jumps on people they know when really excited, stops with correction. Medical status:Healthy as far as we know. Up to date on their DHPP and Bordetella vaccines, spayed/neutered; microchipped; treated with dewormer upon intake. (For dogs under 4 months old, adopters will need to finish the DHPP vaccine series and administer the Rabies vaccine at 16 weeks of age.) How did this dog end up with Social Tees? Most of our dogs come via partner groups who help us save them from shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia in Tennessee, Los Angeles, and Puerto Rico. There are very few spay/neuter resources there and many more animals in those areas than there are people to adopt them. Rescue groups like ours bring them to the northeast where the desire for pets like these allows us to save their lives.  PLEASE NOTE: We cannot guarantee any breed mix, exact age, or full grown size (if the dog is under a year old). We do our best with very educated guesses.  This animal is not at the Social Tees office, all are in foster homes. LEARN MORE ABOUT US: socialteesnyc.org and Instagram @socialteesnyc ##2752153##
