Story
Story time 📖 🪄 Once upon a time there was a little girl named Cinderella. Her wicked step family moved out of their apartment and left her behind, all alone with no food for days. Finally neighbors heard her cries for help and rescued her from her urine and feces covered dungeon and called animal control to help her. And that’s how this sweet needy google-eyed girl found her way to us. We don’t know her real name, age, or past; what we do know is she’s complete sweetheart who loves everyone she meets and whines for attention to make sure she’s never left behind and forgotten again. She’s fine with other dogs, about 15lbs, and our vet’s best guess about 4-5 years old. Though she looks and acts like a puppy. We aren’t sure what breeds mixed together to create those awkward giant eyes, squishy face, and shortish legs but we are guessing maybe Boston, pug, or frenchie, and maybe even some peke or Shih Tzu? Luckily she’s a short haired dog, or she probably would’ve come to us covered in mats as well. But she’s in pretty good shape other than a lot of urine staining that will take some time and lots of baths to get to fade. She’s friendly with other small dogs and a happy little girl who is looking for her fairy tale ending- her very own castle 🏰 with a charming family. Email njwoof@cs.com to be a part of Cinderella’s story and meet her in Northern NJ Since COVID-19, we are no longer holding our Sunday adoption events until further notice, but we are scheduling meet and greet appointments with a specific dog or dogs at our meeting spots in Northern NJ. To streamline adoptions, all communication before, during, and after the adoption process is done through email only: we have limited volunteers able to return phone calls. Submit an application from our website www.secondchance.petfinder.com to speed up the adoption process and email any questions to us at njwoof@cs.com. Please check your email regularly for next steps. All our dogs reside in foster care in Northern NJ until adoption and we do not have a central shelter location. We are a small all-volunteer organization focused on rescuing local dogs from area shelters, as well as accepting some surrenders and puppy mill rescues.

Story
Bailey is a good dog. I have had Bailey since I was around 16. We got her from my eldest sister who had saved her from another home when she was 8 months old she is now turrning 10 May 18th.As time has gone on I have a 1 year old and live in a apartment I can not provide nor do I have the means to take care of her anymore. This environment is not for her. She can have alot of energy but needs someone who can give her lots of attention. She is old but still has alot of energy she loves to run yard is a+. She would do better in an environment with no children and prefers males. She does do good with other pets! She has always been around other animals and big and small dogs she has been around cats as well. She needs someone who can take her to the vet and checkups and I no longer can do these things for her as my hands are full and I believe she deserves a amazing rest of her life. I hope someone will love her as much as I do.

Story
Missy (previously named Anise) was found as a stray and brought to the Associated Humane Society of Newark. She struggled in the shelter environment, but clearly lived in a home. Despite the stress, she bonded to the staff of the shelter and welcomed love and attention. She is estimated to be about 6 years old and is 14 pounds. Missy is a special needs dog. She has had some medical issues since coming to Peace Pointe. First she had a lump removed, but thankfully the biopsy was good and it was benign! Phew. Sadly, after her first foster-to-adopt family fell through, she experienced sudden blindness… This poor little lady had to see an Ophthalmologist and it was determined she has an autoimmune disease (not contagious to other dogs) called Panuveitis. She is currently on steroids, and we will know more about her long term prognosis after this treatment. She is set to revisit the doctor on 4/22. We will update you via social media as soon as we know more. Please give us a follow on Instagram and/or facebook to follow her very unfair journey… Despite the sudden blindness, she is very active and excitable! She loves listening to the birds, riding in the car, cuddling on the couch, guarding the front door from squirrel invaders, and playing with toys. Missy walks very excitedly on the leash, and wants to meet most people who pass her by. She loves to cuddle with you, and like a typical terrier likes to dig and snuffle in your lap or on the couch. She could go home with a compatible pup. Before the blindness, we said she could not go home to cats or small animals because she would chase, and had a prey drive. Obviously this changes things a bit, so we believe it is possible to live with a cat who could evade her or gently correct her. She is housebroken and doesn't mind her crate, in fact it is her safe space. Missy has an adorable underbite! Missy is a tough but sweet cookie looking for a second chance at life with a family who will cherish her and understand her terrier-ness and special needs. She would do best in a home that can provide her with structure and routine. She can be a dominant girl, and would ideally go home with a compatible pup that can keep up with her, and help her navigate the new world she suddenly finds herself in. Missy is currently in a foster home in Atlantic Highlands, NJ. Because of her sudden blindness, we are no longer considering a foster-to-adopt situation. It is not fair to make her learn a new environment if it is only temporary. We are happy to do any meet and greets, and certainly multiple meet ups in necessary, but we want to place her into a permanent home going forward so that she only needs to learn one new environment from here on out. Are you the special family willing to give her this opportunity at a normal and cherished life? To set up a meet and greet - e-mail Info@peacepointe.com

📌 Important Adoption Information All of our dogs are currently living in private shelters or foster homes in South Korea. Once an adoption is approved, dogs will travel to the United States through legal and approved international transport procedures. Video calls are available prior to adoption, and adopters can communicate with our rescue team in real time through our official organization and app-based messaging channels throughout the process. • Rescue Story: Meet Moana👋🏻 She was found wandering the streets of Paju, South Korea in 2022. She ended up at a high-kill shelter but was thankfully rescued just in time. Since then, she’s been living in a private shelter with many other dogs, charming everyone with her affectionate personality. Now, she’s ready to find a forever family of her own! • Personality: Affectionate, Friendly, Goofy Moana is truly one of a kind. She quickly won the hearts of volunteers with her gentle, loving nature. She follows people around like a little shadow, happily greeting everyone—even strangers—with tail wags and affection. Moana thrives on human interaction and loves tug-of-war, belly rubs, and being the center of attention. Her energy level is moderate, making her a great balance of playful and calm. • Affinity with - Dogs: Moana is incredibly social—not just with people, but with dogs, too. She’s often the first to welcome new arrivals at the shelter, helping them feel safe and at ease. While she would thrive as the only dog in the home, Moana also does best with calm dog companions. - Cats: Not tested with cats - Adults/Kids: Great with adults / She hasn’t been tested with cats or kids, but based on her gentle demeanor, we believe she’d do well with respectful children. • Walking Manners: Moana has also started practicing her leash skills and is doing great! She may pull a little at times, but overall, she walks well and is eager to please. • Housetrained: As she’s lived in a shelter, Moana will need some house-training in a home setting. • Bathing/Brushing: She’s tolerant of baths and grooming. • Car Sickness: She’s curious and alert during car rides, taking in the world around her. • Separation Anxiety: Zero. • Barks/Howls: Very quiet • Appetite/Food Allergies: Eats well. No food allergies found so far. • Shedding level (1~10): 5 • Likes/Dislikes: She loves affection & treats! • Health: Moana finished her heartworm treatment in Oct 2024 and is in great health. She underwent successful surgery for an inguinal hernia in Mar 2025 and has fully recovered. She has a clean bill of health and is ready for her new adventure! (Her two front bottom teeth are missing) 💙 Adoption Fee Information The adoption fee already includes all major expenses, such as: International transportation, Customs and export documentation, Medical care (spay surgery, vaccinations, health certificate, deworming, etc.) For this reason, we kindly ask that you refrain from requesting a breakdown or negotiation of the adoption fee. Your support directly helps us continue rescuing and caring for dogs in need, and we sincerely appreciate your understanding.
