You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :)When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :)Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!My name is Taylor.  I came to the ranch when I was 7 weeks old and have been here for almost 2 years.  I have a bladder problem that cannot be surgically corrected.  I could wear diapers but I absolutely hate them!!  Here at the ranch I do not have to wear a diaper because they mop and steam floors several times a day but I drip and they don't make me feel bad about it :)I may spend my life here but if I do I will be loved and accepted even though I can't hold my bladder :) I love to give kisses and recieve pets!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.   A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. Good with kids, Good with dogs, Not good with cats, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
5 years old   Very petite.  She's adorable and very loving with people.  She loves belly rubs and toys.  She's good with most other dogs, but should be supervised initially until fully acclimated.  She has a high prey drive for cats, chickens or small animals.  She is a jumper and can clear a 3 ft fence and will run if given the opportunity.  Due to her prey drive and running, she requires a home with at least a 4 ft securely fenced in yard to keep her safe.   To submit an adoption application, visit mollysplacerescue.org. Fill the form out completely, print, scan and email back to mollysplace@verizon.net. You must obtain pre-approval prior to visiting the dog or cat. Adoptions fees include the following:    spay/neuter surgery,  microchip and registration,  age appropriate vaccinations,  initial dewormings,  Activyl for fleas,  tested for FeLV and FIV (cats only),  bubble bath prior to going home (dogs only) WE do not "HOLD" animals without an approved application and a non-refundable/non-transferable paid adoption fee.  Adoptions are on a first come, first serve basis.  We can not send extra pictures.  WE do not ship, you must pick up the pet.  Kitties must be transported in a secure cat carrier.   Pooches require a "martingale" collar and a non-retractable leash. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 21, 2024, 5:15 pm

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
"Hello there, I am Stellaluna, like the little bat in the story book. My foster mom calls me Estelle, or Stellie, Stell. Or Stellaloonie when I'm being silly! Names don't matter to me as long as you snuggle with me! All I want from life is a soft couch, yummy food, and a warm lap. I love to be held, petted, and give LOTS of kisses. I would love to sleep in the big bed! I take naps with my foster mom and it's wonderful! I like to go for walks, chew on soft toys, and EAT FOOD! I am living my best life since I came to Zoe's and I bet you can make it even better!" Stella was surrendered from a commercial breeder. She came to us underweight and desperate for love and attention. She also had four mammary tumors that required a quadruple mastectomy, and a hernia repair. Despite the tumors and crappy health, within weeks of being with her foster family she was up to a healthy weight. Stella is good with dogs, cats, and small animals. She would be great for a family with or without children! She is very puppy-like in her mannerisms and has been an absolute joy in her foster home. Stella is housebroken, but accidents are normal in a new environment. She does not have accidents in her foster home as long as she gets outside to potty regularly. She does not require a fenced yard, however if you do not have a fence she will need to be on a leash. Stella is used to a crate, and stays there when her foster mom leaves the house, or at night. She loves her cozy bed. She is quiet, and does not bark or fuss in her crate, until her foster mom comes home and then she gets excited and will yell to greet her. Stellaluna is spayed, had dental work removing decayed molars, had her tumors removed, a hernia repaired, has been microchipped, vaccinated, and tested negative for Heartworm. Stella has also been treated for a tick borne disease and parasites. She has been given a clean bill of health and ready to find her forever home. In addition to good nutrition Stella's foster mom has been giving her salmon oil and joint supplements. It would be recommended that she continue these. Stella is being fostered in southern Lancaster county PA, and interested families must be willing to travel to her foster home, and bring along any existing dogs in the home. Ready to meet our Stellaluna? Go online to www.zoeshouserescue.com and complete an adoption application! We do not always receive applications submitted through adoptapet or petfinder. Story
Meet Ramona! "Hello! I am so happy to meet you! I am a silly little girl who loves to be petted and wiggles all around! I'm 3 years old and about 15lbs. I was surrendered to Zoe's House by a commercial breeder. I've had a few litters of pups, but now the mama life is behind me and I'm ready to be someone's baby! I am good with other dogs, okay with dog savvy cats, and I LOVE people! I am very puppy-like in my playstyle with other dogs and it may annoy some dogs. If I'm adopted into a family with another dog, the dog will need to be of similar energy level. I may bother older dogs or dogs who want to be left alone. It's all in good nature though! I just want to play! I am learning to fetch and play with toys in my foster home!" Ramona is a sweet little pup who warms up quickly to new people. She is a little bit timid at first, but she loves being petted and held! She likes going for walks and loves to make friends. She is happy-go-lucky and silly! She loves to run around and is almost always on the go. Once she crashes for a nap, she likes a blanket and a warm lap, in true Boston Terrier style! Ramona is nearly house broken, she has only had 2 accidents on the first day in her foster home. She quickly learned the routine and now always potties outside as long as she is kept on a schedule. Potty accidents are common for dogs in new environments, and her new family should plan on having a routine so she knows when to expect her potty breaks. Ramona will either need to have a physical fenced yard or to always be leashed, she would wander away without a leash or a fence. Upon intake to the rescue, it was noted by our vet that Ramona has a mild heart condition. She has had an echocardiogram by a veterinary cardiologist. While this very mild condition is unlikely to ever cause her problems, it will need checked yearly by a veterinarian for any changes. Ramona's foster mom can go over any concerns with prospective families. Ramona is being fostered in southern Lancaster county pa. Interested families must be willing to travel to her foster home twice to adopt her. The first visit is a meet and greet with all members of the household, including resident dogs. After the meet and greet a date for adoption will be agreed upon. Ramona is spayed, had a dental cleaning, is heartworm negative, is up to date on vaccines, is microchipped, and has been treated with monthly parasite preventatives. Story
Bandit, came to us along with Buddy and Hershey because their owner had stage 4 lung cancer and could no longer care for them. She's super scared and sweet and you just want to help her. The man kept these dogs in crates for seven years. Everything is over stimulation for her. Overall she’s doing very well considering her entire world has been erased and there's so much around new to get used to. She is very very sweet. I believe she’s half bull dog—she has the bull dog snort. She weighs 38 lbs. She lived with other dogs in her life ---both males and females and she lived another male and a cat in her foster home. At first she wasn’t overly friendly with the dogs here but has adjusted after a slow introduction. Bandit is spayed, up to date with vaccinations, and microchipped. She is also housetrained. She is also missing one eye, which causes her no problem. If interested in Bandit contact applications@boxertransfer.org
