You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs. Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families. We have many sponsorship dogs. Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :) So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue. Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding. My name is Taylor. I came to the ranch when I was 7 weeks old and have been here for almost 2 years. I have a bladder problem that cannot be surgically corrected. I could wear diapers but I absolutely hate them!! Hello to all, I’m Nina, a 6 year old, approx. 20# Boston Terrier like NO OTHER! Retired from life of breeding, I’ve had my fill of other dogs both “male” (fur sure) and female. My pups were great but always taken from me over, and over and over again causing me to say “Enough is Enough” with other dogs (No Cats too). I MUST BE your ONE AND ONLY! NO way shape or form can I be near another dog, live with, befriend or even have access to another dog so a GOOD STURDY FENCE required for my adoption. NO EXCEPTIONS. On the “FLIP SIDE”, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, can’t say it enough, LOVE ALL PEOPLE from little crawly smelly dirty diaper tikes to gray haired old fogies, grumpy seniors. Age: 1 year Size: 35 lbs Estimated breed: Boston Terrier/Cattle Dog mix (among many other breeds, according to her DNA results!) Lives with: Dogs, one very dog-savvy cat. She prefers a home with no kids or cats/small animals Lucy is an 1 year old Boston terrier mix, whose personality far outweighs her size. She came to live with us when she was just a few weeks old after being rescued in Texas. In the time Lucy has been with us, we have watched her grow into herself. And what a character she has become! Lucy lives with two other canine friends and a cat. Her and the cat have a mutual understanding. They are not exactly friends, but they respect each other's privacy (for the most part). As far as her canine siblings, Lucy has a strong bond with our Bernese Mountain mix (Sammy). Sammy and Lucy have been friends since the start. It's quite the combination with Lucy being all of maybe 30 lbs to Sammy's 90 lbs. Rough play is the order of the day, with Lucy regularly ending up airborne after Sammy decides he's had enough and tosses her out of the way. Lucy, not one to give up easily, comes back for more and more. This cycle continues until Lucy tires out and heads to her crate or the couch to rest. Speaking of crates, Lucy is crate trained and does very will with in. In fact, she usually goes in on her own when she wants alone time, or when we get ready to wind down our evening. Lucy is also excellent with being house broken and accidents are few if any in recent months. Lucy is very independent and thinks she's a BIG dog. She is a bit headstrong with leash training, and also has a very active prey drive. If Lucy sees a squirrel or other small critter, she gets pretty excited and it is tough to break her focus. Lucy would do best in a home with another large canine companion and a fenced yard. She loves her big brother Sammy and often cuddles with him when they tire out after their backyard wrestling matches. She looks to him constantly for entertainment, reducing some of the burden on us. Purebread Boston around 4 years old. Very loving and sweet but has snapped at our kids one too many times. They were not antagonistic in anyway he just does not like kids for some reason. Gets along great with our older mutt but doesn't always get along with our French bulldog. Kids were 9 and 10 when he snapped at them. I now have a newborn and simply cannot take the risk of having him around.

Hey there! I am Codi, aka Coco! I am a 11 year old boston terrier, but I am young at heart! I am still very active and eager to adventure! I love going places and meeting people. I am also a nap queen who never misses an opportunity for some quality ZZZ's. When I came to Zoe's in June 2025, I was leaving my family for the first time ever, and I was a little unsure. My family loved me dearly but knew they weren't able to meet my needs. In my foster home, I quickly overcame my nerves and settled right in. I had some struggles early on with accepting that I wasn't the only queen in this castle, but now I am friends with all the other dogs in my foster home. I've also done well meeting other dogs at adoption events. I do prefer dogs who are close to my size, unless the bigger ones can prove to me that they are respectful. I have had some health struggles, but now I am feeling fabulous. I have had two surgeries since coming to Zoe's House Rescue, and healed wonderfully with lots of TLC. I had seven mammary tumors and two other tumors that all needed removed. The tumors were biopsied and came back with multiple kinds of cancerous and pre-cancerous cells! However, our amazing vet was able to get clear margins on all my masses, meaning I am cancer free now!! I plan to make the most of my second chance, and meeting my new family is top priority! I absolutely LOVE kids and all people! I am good with easy going dog friends, but don't love rude or pushy dogs. I am actually a hunting dog under this disguise of a Boston Terrier, and I do chase cats, chickens, ducks, rabbits, and other small pets. Overall, my ideal home just has to have a soft couch and some hands to pet me. I'd love to meet you!! Codi is medically cleared and ready for her next chapter! Full medical records are available to adopters. Codi is spayed, vaccinated, has had recent bloodwork, and has been kept up to date on parasite preventions since joining the rescue. She is a happy go lucky dog who just needs a loving home for her senior years...not that she knows she is a senior! Codi is fostered in the Lancaster Pa area.
