Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Darling little Cherry is a 4 1/2-month-old Boston pup who has a cherry eye. She will be seeing the vet soon for a full evaluation and we will schedule her surgery once she has a complete work-up. Cherry is extremely affectionate, and she does really well with young children and other dogs. Her foster family raves about her, and she's got a real fan club in the two young girls with whom she shares her current home. More to come after her next vet visit! Note: We are not accepting applications for Cherry at this time. Once she's medically cleared, we will open the flood gates. <3 If you have questions specifically about Cherry, please email us at info@abtrr.org. Cherry is being fostered in the Tulsa, OK area. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Charlie was hit by a car and sustained a fractured spine, traumatic brain injury, severe road rash to both his eyes and his body.  He spent two months in the hospital recovering from his injuries. We were able to save both his eyes, but he does have limited vision in them. He is currently a paraplegic and gets around in a wheelchair, but he is gaining more and more use of his legs every day. Our hope that he will be able to walk on all fours again in the future. He does have some issues with controlling his bladder.  This is related to his fractured spine.  As this heals, his control increases. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If you're within a reasonable driving distance of Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX, we'd love to hear from you if you're interested in fostering (or adopting) our special little man!   Romeo loves to play, play, play - and we are baffled… Why hasn’t he been adopted yet? He is about 1 yr old, UTD on vaccines, neutered, heartworm negative and on prevention, crate trained, dog, cat, and rooster friendly. He loves playing with toys and will play ALL DAY long. He is house trained, but unfortunately due to the bad hand he was dealt, he requires diapers because he can't control his bowels. He does go outside to potty when he is able to let you know he needs to pee, and he lets you clean him and put on his diaper. This does not slow him down AT ALL. Romeo doesn't know he's different. He’s all BT puppy! He would love a family or foster home where he will get some puppy training with LOTS of love and attention (play time!). If interested, please complete an application at www.abtrr.org. We'd appreciate it if you'd share his story with your BT-loving friends! ************************************************************************ Romeo has quite a history for such a young pup! Romeo's Background: Romeo came to us at about 7 months old from another rescue where he’d a coloplexy to repair a prolapse. He continued to experience multiple issues that could not be resolved by the vet and the foster home was unable to continue to care for him, so the rescue reached out to us for support and the rest is history. (This is a great example of how rescues can work together to help more dogs.) We had Romeo assessed by our veterinary chiropractors and they began a rehabilitation program to help him develop some bowel control. Things were progressing nicely until an unexpected turn of events occurred. Romeo's foster mom returned home from work one day to find him safe in his crate, but with a gaping hole near his rear end. After an emergency vet visit, we learned that Romeo's nubby tail has somehow been broken and over time the broken pieces rubbed together to create a subcutaneous abscess that ruptured. Little Romeo was scheduled for his third surgery to amputate his broken/unattached tail. The surgery went well, but Romeo developed a pretty serious infection while still at the vet hospital, so his stay ended up being extended by about a week. The infection was pretty persistent, but it was finally cleared up and he's now home. Through it all, Romeo remained a happy, wiggly, and BUSY little guy.  Romeo's Current Status: Romeo is, and will likely remain, bowel incontinent. The strides made toward helping him develop some bowel control were erased by the amputation of his tail. He currently wears diapers, which he has become accustomed to. He lets his foster mom change and clean him without a fuss. He's an active, happy little guy who loves to play, play, play, and he's great with other dogs. Romeo takes a bit to warm up to new people, but he's very sweet once he accepts you.  All adoptions begin with our online application at www.abtrr.org. Please note that Romeo is being fostered in the Central Texas area. If you have questions about Romeo, please email us at info@abtrr.org. While we do have a phone number, we have a very small volunteer base, and we are often unable to return phone calls in a timely manner. Thank you! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Precious little Winnie is a 10-11 year old female that came to us from the Texas Panhandle. She's appx 14 lbs and has limited vision with some apparent hearing loss. She's also got some inoperable cancerous tumors that are being closely monitored by our vet team. Winnie would benefit from a dental, but until we know exactly what we're dealing with health-wise, we are doing what we can without putting her under. Winnie is an expert snuggler and she gets along wonderfully with her foster sister. She's a very expressive little lady and she has her foster family well-trained already. :) Given Winnie’s ongoing health concerns, she is considered a forever foster with ABTRR. She will remain in the care of her foster family and we will be financially responsible for her indefinitely.  If you would like to donate towards Winnie's monthly care which includes a specialized diet, send your donation to: Paypal: @abtrtx or fundraiser@rescuebostons.org Zelle: info@abtrr.org Venmo: @Heidi-Murphy-68 Ca$hApp: $ beandogmom &#226&#128&#139Snail Mail: ABTRR, PO Box 1286, Little Elm, TX 75068 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 11, 2024, 3:34 pm

Introducing Buster, an energetic and resilient 1 1/2-year-old small terrier mix with a heart of gold. Buster's journey began with adversity, as he arrived at the shelter as a fragile and partially paralyzed 4-month-old puppy. Despite his challenges, Buster's sweet demeanor shone through, captivating the hearts of all who met him. Thanks to the diligent care of veterinarians and a loving foster home, Buster received the necessary treatments and therapy to overcome his physical setbacks. With determination and perseverance, he regained mobility in his back legs, triumphantly rising to the occasion and embracing each step forward with boundless enthusiasm. Now, Buster is a picture of vitality, effortlessly keeping pace with his canine and human companions. While he may still exhibit a hint of wobbliness during moments of exuberance, it only adds to his charm and endearing personality. Buster's love for treats knows no bounds, and his spirited nature ensures that laughter and joy are never in short supply. Despite the challenges he's faced in his short life, Buster remains undaunted, approaching each new day with optimism and a zest for life that is truly contagious. Hey y'all! My name is Dallas and I'm 9 year old boy looking for my forever home. I love to play with toys  but my foster mom says I will settle down in the evenings for some  good tv watching time with you.  I'm a sweet playful boy who would love to find a home with a nice yard. I am very bossy and should be the only dog in your home. I love to go for rides in the car and I'm crate trained. I'm a good boy with lots of playful energy. Best with older children.  My adoption fee is $75.00 but if you are 65 or older the adoption fee is waived with our seniors for seniors program. Story
Hi everyone, my name is Reno, and I am about 5 years old, and 21 lbs.  I am a very loving and playful  dog, and my strong preference is for people!  I am house trained, crate trained, and leash trained.  I am a very special boy who is looking for a loving and patient owner. I have a lot of anxiety so  I appreciate someone who will help me feel safe!  I do not get along with other dogs or cats, and need to be in a home without  children.  I prefer a very calm household, so a home that is pretty chill will be my ideal!  I'm a one person kind of guy so a single owner would work best for me, and preferably one who is retired or works from home, as I don’t like being by myself but I'm ok for a few hours when I'm in my crate. .   I am at my happiest when I get to be with my person!  My adoption fee is $325.  NO OTHER PETS, NO SMALL CHILDREN, NEEDS ADOPTER HOME MOST OF THE TIME.  ADOPTERS INTERESTED IN RENO MUST ATTEND SEVERAL TRAINING SESSIONS WITH HIM AT A TRAINING FACILITY NEAR MCKINNEY TX. Story
Hi....my name is Buster and I am 4 years old. My foster describes me as a very energetic and charming guy.  Yes, I am charming!  I love to play but am very picky about my doggie friends.  I may do best as an only dog at first.....you could probably get me a friend after I have settled in to my new home.  I won't do well with young children as I have a tendency to get a little too playful my foster mommy says.  I would love a home with a big backyard I can run and play in as I really like to play with my humans.  I will be very happy in a home with an active Mom & Dad who will take me for walks as I am doing a good job learning to walk well on a leash.  I am crate trained and house trained....my foster mom says I am a really good boy.  I do have a tendency to get very hyper so I will need a family that can manage my energy.  I am currently working with a trainer so I will have good social skills and be a good boy for my new family. NOTE:  If you want to make me part of your family, you will need to come meet my trainer and go through several training sessions with me so I can continue to learn.  I am in Princeton, TX so you will have to come here to meet me......did I already tell you how charming I am?
