Story
Pickles is full of love and is eager to have some down time in a foster home while he recovers. Pickles is recovering from post enucleation surgery and will need to have monitored play time and limited movement to prevent the surgery site from swelling or irritation.Reason for Foster: URI and post enucleation recovery Foster Time Frame: 1 weekFoster Care Plan: Pickles is currently undergoing treatment for an upper respiratory infection, which is similar to a common cold. There is a possibility that he is contagious to other animals, so we strongly recommend keeping him separated in a bedroom or bathroom away from your personal pets until he has fully recovered. He will go home with medication and once her medication is completed he will have a recheck to move forward with adoption. I am available through our Foster to Adopt program. This program helps pets awaiting or under medical treatment be placed in with prospective adopters before they are made available for adoption. If interested in fostering through our Foster to Adopt program, sign up to be a foster online and express your interest in Pickles. We can schedule a pick up and meet and greet appointment.

Story
Meet Benny! Benny is as sweet as they come! Benny is 14 years young and still has plenty of spunk left. Benny enjoys cuddling up in a soft blanket, sun bathing outside and taking long walks. For an older gentleman he can keep up with younger bigger dogs and currently walks 3+ miles per day. Benny is dog and kid friendly! Not sure about cats but I would imagine he would be OK after a little curiosity. Benny is able to be left to roam during the day but can also be crated. He is non-destructive and really just wants to cuddle up and nap. Benny is a bit of a picky eater so patience and creativity is a must!To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt It doesn't obligate you, but it is the first step. We don't get to all of the inquiries but respond to all applications. Thank you for choosing to rescue!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Darling little Cherry is a 4 1/2-month-old Boston pup who has a cherry eye. She will be seeing the vet soon for a full evaluation and we will schedule her surgery once she has a complete work-up. Cherry is extremely affectionate, and she does really well with young children and other dogs. Her foster family raves about her, and she's got a real fan club in the two young girls with whom she shares her current home. More to come after her next vet visit! Note: We are not accepting applications for Cherry at this time. Once she's medically cleared, we will open the flood gates. <3 If you have questions specifically about Cherry, please email us at info@abtrr.org. Cherry is being fostered in the Tulsa, OK area. While we do have a phone number, we have a very small volunteer base and we are often unable to return phone calls in a timely manner. Thank you! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Charlie was hit by a car and sustained a fractured spine, traumatic brain injury, severe road rash to both his eyes and his body.  He spent two months in the hospital recovering from his injuries. We were able to save both his eyes, but he does have limited vision in them. He is currently a paraplegic and gets around in a wheelchair, but he is gaining more and more use of his legs every day. Our hope that he will be able to walk on all fours again in the future. He does have some issues with controlling his bladder.  This is related to his fractured spine.  As this heals, his control increases. If you would like to donate towards Charlie's monthly care, send your donation to: Paypal: @abtrtx or fundraiser@rescuebostons.org Zelle: info@abtrr.org Venmo: @Heidi-Murphy-68 Ca$hApp: $   beandogmom &#226&#128&#139Snail Mail: ABTRR, PO Box 1286, Little Elm, TX 75068 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 18, 2024, 10:55 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If you're within a reasonable driving distance of Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX, we'd love to hear from you if you're interested in fostering (or adopting) our special little man!   Romeo loves to play, play, play - and we are baffled… Why hasn’t he been adopted yet? He is about 1 yr old, UTD on vaccines, neutered, heartworm negative and on prevention, crate trained, dog, cat, and rooster friendly. He loves playing with toys and will play ALL DAY long. He is house trained, but unfortunately due to the bad hand he was dealt, he requires diapers because he can't control his bowels. He does go outside to potty when he is able to let you know he needs to pee, and he lets you clean him and put on his diaper. This does not slow him down AT ALL. Romeo doesn't know he's different. He’s all BT puppy! He would love a family or foster home where he will get some puppy training with LOTS of love and attention (play time!). If interested, please complete an application at www.abtrr.org. We'd appreciate it if you'd share his story with your BT-loving friends! ************************************************************************ Romeo has quite a history for such a young pup! Romeo's Background: Romeo came to us at about 7 months old from another rescue where he’d a coloplexy to repair a prolapse. He continued to experience multiple issues that could not be resolved by the vet and the foster home was unable to continue to care for him, so the rescue reached out to us for support and the rest is history. (This is a great example of how rescues can work together to help more dogs.) We had Romeo assessed by our veterinary chiropractors and they began a rehabilitation program to help him develop some bowel control. Things were progressing nicely until an unexpected turn of events occurred. Romeo's foster mom returned home from work one day to find him safe in his crate, but with a gaping hole near his rear end. After an emergency vet visit, we learned that Romeo's nubby tail has somehow been broken and over time the broken pieces rubbed together to create a subcutaneous abscess that ruptured. Little Romeo was scheduled for his third surgery to amputate his broken/unattached tail. The surgery went well, but Romeo developed a pretty serious infection while still at the vet hospital, so his stay ended up being extended by about a week. The infection was pretty persistent, but it was finally cleared up and he's now home. Through it all, Romeo remained a happy, wiggly, and BUSY little guy.  Romeo's Current Status: Romeo is, and will likely remain, bowel incontinent. The strides made toward helping him develop some bowel control were erased by the amputation of his tail. He currently wears diapers, which he has become accustomed to. He lets his foster mom change and clean him without a fuss. He's an active, happy little guy who loves to play, play, play, and he's great with other dogs. Romeo takes a bit to warm up to new people, but he's very sweet once he accepts you.  All adoptions begin with our online application at www.abtrr.org. Please note that Romeo is being fostered in the Central Texas area. If you have questions about Romeo, please email us at info@abtrr.org. While we do have a phone number, we have a very small volunteer base, and we are often unable to return phone calls in a timely manner. Thank you!
